EXCLUSIVE: In their first development season after partnering last June to launch ABC Studios-based Di Bonaventura Pictures Television, Lorenzo Di Bonaventura and Dan McDermott landed a series on the air, ABC’s midseason conspiracy drama Zero Hour. Now the duo have netted one of ABC‘s first drama commitments of the new development cycle with another high-concept project. The network has bought drama pitch Founding Fathers, from Di Bonaventura Pictures TV and ABC Studios. Written by feature scribe Rich D’Ovidio (Exit Woods, Thir13en Ghosts), Founding Fathers is described as “Donnie Brasco set in the world of Texas militias.” It centers on Nick Keating who, after serving a third tour in Afghanistan, returns home to find his small Texas town under the control of a militia group led by his older foster brother. After being seduced by the militia’s surprisingly community-based motives, he accepts a rare invitation to join the group. But unbeknownst to his new “family,” Nick has a secret agenda that will put his life in jeopardy and lead him to question his allegiances. D’Ovidio executive produces with Di Bonaventura and McDermott.
Zero Hour stars Anthony Edwards as a man who, after spending 20 years as the editor of a skeptic magazine, becomes involved in one of the most compelling conspiracies in human history. Paradigm-repped D’Ovidio most recently penned the Halle Berry-starring feature The Hive, which is now filming. Di Bonaventura Pictures TV is with CAA.

FORGET THE DRAMA
Lets see a documentary on the Texas Militia and throw in the Michigan Militia too. These are seeds of our march back to Liberty and Freedom. Other State Militias will follow and are what the 2nd Amendment was all about. The Obama Federal Government does not realize what it has done in threatening Americans. Others have tried to threaten American people and are no longer around.

They are well aware and have been planning this for a long time. They have been rehearsing confiscation and round up tactics in many cities over the past year and a half. Most patriots have homes, jobs, families, etc.decent Americans It will be interesting to see at what particular point the fight is on if at all? Most will have a very hard time giving up football tv and Opra let alone their homes and freedom. We are living in unprecidented times.
What will be interesting to see is what side of “confiscation”, law enforcement will support. On one hand, they know it to be illegal, on the other hand they may just follow orders. I’m a supporter of law-enforcement until they take the wrong side of an issue.

We have a Militia of about 175 Strong and this show is for the sole purpose to Demonize Miltias- that being Said our Militia was put together to Fight Tyrannical Dictators- nothing More nothing Less (we are Not terrorists) which the Establishment would like many to Believe WE ARE PATRIOTS
Most are missing the point, this isn’t about pro-liberty, pro-guns, this is to demonize the militia movement and for the sheeple this is a medicine right on schedule due to the events in reality, event in Colorado, the hype on the oft-mentioned U.N. Small Arms Treaty (which at this time is being still drafted after 20 some odd years) and constantly comes up for debate in U.S.A. every other election cycle. This is about getting the public to buy into the idea of “makes sense gun control,” when the only gun control that makes sense is: “using two hands.” When will the chattel realize that it is about the incremental encroachment of government that is the plan and the destruction of the individual that is the goal.
People in this country are so uneducated about what is really going on. If they think they are going to put a drama on TV that makes these Militias look bad, I think there are in for one money losing proposition. All this will do is make the Militias look good in the end, people are not stupid, just uneducated, and this will wake them up.
They are doing this because the government is involved in the planning of this series, their intention is to make these Militias look like these people are on the fringe of society, they are sadly mistaken. If people only knew how many Americans actually have the same belief system as the Militias do they would be shocked and surprised.
Militias are made up of people who just want us to get back to living under the U.S. Constitution, they want their freedoms back, they want the government out of their lives and off their land. They feel the need to protect themselves from an ever increasing government intrusion into their lives.
These people stand for something, It probably about time the rest of us do as well.

1. What happens when people scramble for a living because the economy falls apart due to excessive debt leaving little infrastructure operational (and no jobs), or,
2. How the people will react when Government has to decrease spending and entitlements to prevent total economic collapse and prevent the devaluation of its currency.
The reason being is that we are staring one of these two probabilities in the face today.
Falling Skies without the aliens (by aliens I mean from outer space, not Mexico). That’s a show I want to watch, but not on the All Barack Channel.

I was reading a Patricia Cornwall book and there was a reference made by her Dr. Kay S. about evil Republican agenda. I ignored it and read on, but it bothered me that it was written into a conversation by her characters obviously to sway the reader against Republicans. I also found one in a Dean Koontz book. I love his books. It is becoming the new norm for even popular book writers to use their books to try and sway the reader toward a political agenda. I read to escape reality, not to have to listen to a political diatribe out of the hero’s mouth.
Hidden agendas? They’re called opinions, man, and everyone’s got them. Why are Republicans/conservatives/etc. so damn paranoid, always ranting on about politics? Let me explain — “outside the box” means there isn’t a show like this on television. Which is true. You don’t have to watch if you don’t like the concept. All these companies do is try and put on a show that will get people to watch. Because that generates advertising revenue. If any one particular political agenda generated more revenue, they’d put it on. But that’s not how it works — people watch what entertains them. This whole paranoia about liberal agenda in Hollywood goes counter to common sense and the capitalist market forces. Don’t buy it, and Hollywood won’t sell it. It’s mainstream America watching. To be entertained. And they’re spending millions on it, for better or worse.

Uh, HBO did a show called the Wire that covered all of this. The Wire was a hit show and is considered one of the best shows in TV history.

As described in the article, the idea of a Militia in Texas is rather out-of-place. Most of us here really don’t see the need for such an organization. CHL programs, a generous offering of all types of approved firearms and a wide variety of practice ranges throughout the State insure an appropriate security that is enjoyed in even the most-heavily populated areas.
It will be interesting, nonetheless, to see how Mr. Di Bonaventura develops the theme within the environment. Texas enjoys a good picture-show as much as anyone else (Just ask Mr. Bogdanovich). Alos, Texas knows that Hollywood is all about entertainment. And Hollywood today is most entertaining.

Sounds like a slap against Texas and gun rights. This might make me not want to watch ABC even if there is a program I want to watch on it. I cancelled my HBO subscription when there was talk of them doing a hit job on Roger Ailes. There might be a reason why FOX news ratings are going through the roof and the traditional networks are losing market share. I don’t watch their news anymore for the most part, but I haven’t given up on their prime time programming, yet. I am conservative leaning, but I have voted for some Democrats and I watch independent movies. However as a native Texan, I don’t like to hear Texas trash talked and like many Americans (Republicans, Democrats, and Independents) I value the 2nd amendment.
I’m from the southeast and I visit Texas every so often and I’ve found schools way beyond and above “national” NCLB standards. Well equipped, well run and the people quite outstanding. Why? Because by refusing Federal money, they’re not bound by the NCLB and thus are trashed by those with their hands out (either voluntarily or involuntary). Because of stances such as this, part of my family has now moved there. This “leftist” attempt is due mostly because Texas can afford to tell the fed (especially the current administration), “Go fly your kite and make your movies with your socialist friends! We’ll defend the Constitution.”
Billy, as a casual observer who doesn’t know you from Adam, it sounds like guns are much too big a priority in your life. Aren’t there any other hobbies in Texas besides defending the Constitution? Believe it or not, the Constitution has survived for about 225 years so far, and I think it’s going to do just fine without you.
