Dana Delany is reuniting with her Pasadena co-star Mark Valley on her latest series, Body Of Proof. Valley is in final negotiations to join the ABC medical drama as a new regular. The former Human Target star will play Det. Tommy Sullivan, a sexy former NYPD detective who has transferred to Philadelphia to try to rekindle his relationship with Megan Hunt (Delany). They broke up twenty years ago because he cheated on her. Tommy is one of two new regular roles that Body of Proof is adding in the wake of the departure of three regulars whose options were not picked up in May: Nicholas Bishop, John Carroll Lynch and Sonja Sohn. Valley, repped by WME and Untitled, most recently co-starred on NBC’s Harry’s Law.

BOP was truly lucky to get a third season as its ratings stunk. Now with Mark Valley joining the show it is definatley being axed next year.
Ha, that was exactly the thought that crossed my mind. I like Mark Valley as an actor, but he’s not been good luck to the shows that he’s a regular on.
He was a series regular on “Boston Legal” and that merely lasted five years on the air, winning multiple awards. Also check out Valley as the title character on the UK series “Keen Eddie,” 2003-4 or thereabouts. Dude gave consistently amazing performances.
George Clooney had the same problem and then he broke out on ER. It’s not Valley it’s the luck of the draw. He and Delaney could have some great chemistry.
Agree…the shows that have been cancelled have nothing to do with Valley.
Human Target was cancelled because it was too expensive for the network to produce. They didn’t want it to succeed.
Valley is super under rated. He should actually be in movies, like James Bond. Captain America…he has the perfect jaw line for that role.
His being added to BOP is the best news I’ve had in months.
I couldn’t have said it better. A good looking articulate male actor who is great for ratings bumps. Shme Human Target didn’t last ? Loved the whole cast!
I’ll be watching, now that Mark Valley is part of the show. He was always great to watch on Boston Legal, Human Target and Harry’s Law.
Agreed! Did you see his Keen Eddie series set in Britain? He was soooo very good in this series. I think it is available at Amazon on DVD now. Worth the purchase and time.
WHY!!! That is a huge mistake. Every show he has been on has been canceled. There are so many other great actors out there. BOP had a chance for a fresh start and now they just blew it.

Harry’s Law was barely alive when he joined it. Because of his joining it got an extra 13 episodes it wasn’t going to get.
He is a perfect choice for this PART, PERFECT! If you seen Keen Eddie, where he played a NYPD transfered to London….you’d agree!

Should have gone with William Levy — as much as I like Mark Valley, he didn’t do much to improve the demos for harry’s law and Body of Proof really needs to increase those almighty demos.

BOP barely is alive before he came….as was Harry’s Law.
Mark has only starred in one show. 90% get axed. Hes a good co-star. BOF barely got picked up. Its the writing that sucked. Certainly not Delaney. Shes s a proven TV star.
Hmmm…funny, because Alex O’Loughlin had three series cancelled on him before he became a hit on “Hawaii 5-0″ – jealous much??
Alex had 2 series cancelled before Hawaii Five O; Moonlight and Three Rivers.
Alex was also on “The Shield.”
So? The only series that Mark starred in was Keen Eddie and Human Target – same as Alex O’Loughlin then.
I got very excited to read that i’ll be getting my weakly dosage of Mark Valley because i like the guy. And i think he’ll have great chemistry with Dana Delany.
That said, all his shows get cancelled. He’s the equivalent of Summer Glau. Let me cross my fingers if that helps!
BoP is not great but it’s one of those ‘harmless’ shows that are nice to watch.
So Alex O’Laughlin has consistently proven he as an actor, as the marquee name and star, cannot make a hit show. Why would someone be jealous if that? Alex is as much the reason Hawaii Five-O is a hit As Ellen Pompeo is the reason Greys Anatomy is a hit. The show, the ensemble, the writing, etc are the reason and the lead is interchangeable because both shows would’ve been hits without them.
There’s a difference between being an actor and being a ‘star’.
Valley deserves better. this series has “gunt” written all over it
Don’t blame Valley if BOP fails… Nobody at the network actually likes this series. It’s just a band-aid.
I loved the previous supporting actors. I really don’t care for Mark Valley at all, and I can’t see him as a love interest on the show. I doubt I will continue to watch past the first episode or two.
I miss human target. I like mark valley. He is a funny man and great actor.
Nicholas Bishop, John Carroll Lynch and Sonja Sohn are being dumped. Really? Nothing against Mark Valley but we liked their characters. Dumping the peripheral characters to try and build a romantic… THING. It aggravates me to no end when series feel the need to force a romantic angle into the storyline. IT IS NOT A REQUIREMENT!
Don’t get the negativity directed toward Mark. Is it because he only gets better looking as he gets older? He gets work because he’s hot AND talented. Besides Boston Legal and Human Target, most of his projects haven’t been that great. Looking forward to see him back on again.
This shows you the level of taste in the TV biz, that people are saying he’s a “great actor”. He’s a guy with model looks, barely above soap-level acting, and zero presence or edge. This dude as being anywhere near a police dept, laughable. Aging vapid gigolo, that might work. Bye bye BOP.
What? Have you seen Human Target?? This guys has talent. The fight scenes alone in Human Target are amazing. The degree of difficulty, not any actor could do that.

Valley is the BEST!! His talent is unstoppable…he can do it all, comedy, action….serious action, romance, drama, on and on…Keen Eddie was awesome. Human Target was even better.
Networks are the problem. Everyone of his shows never was given a chance by the networks. Half the people out there never even heard of Keen Eddie, Human Target spread by word of mouth only, because Fox didn’t air any commecials for it….
BOP is going to rock with him on it. Thank goodness he’s coming back!
Body Of Proof is decent programming with good characters all a little quirky. Mark Valley is a good actor with fabulously chiseled good looks. He will be a boost for the show. He is underrated as an actor. From the information I’ve garnered over the last few years he can do serious acting as well as fun comedy with intellect. I hope the Writing gives the whole cast more opportunities to shine. I never saw him on the soap opera but I am sure he looked great in close ups. Dana Delaney is a wonderful actor and I can see these two sparking!
Harry’s Law was a fun show with great actors. The Ollie character was muted most of the time. Wardrobe didn’t help either.
Human Target was just finding its wings when it was clipped . Mark plays well as the star or in an ensemble.
Keen Eddie is a campy British show now available on DVD and Mark was incredibly cheeky in it. Wonderful show. I found it on cable in reruns.
Body of Proof can only benefit from his addition. Wishing them success this season !
