EXCLUSIVE: Michael Ross will adapt BZRK, the novel by Michael Grant, into a feature film for Sony Pictures and producers Sam Raimi and Josh Donen. Acquired last fall, BZRK is the first in a three-book series by Grant, who previously wrote Gone and co-created the Animorphs series. BZRK is a youth oriented tale with an ambitious premise. A team of gifted teens control biological nanobot robots warriors and they battle another group that is controlled by conjoined twins whose nanobots are brainwashing world leaders. The megalomaniacal twins are trying to take over the world.
Ross previously wrote Turistas, the thriller directed by John Stockwell. He also recently did a rewrite on Robin Hood 2058 and scripted I Owe You, an original screenplay for Media Rights Capital, which Jacob Estes is attached to direct. Russell Hollander is executive producer. Grant and Ross are repped by CAA, Ross also by Management 360.

WHAT???
I don’t want a BZRK movie…
I want a GONE movie
So depressed…..but maybe some of the action from the GONE series wouldn’t translate well to screen
e.g. The Gaiphage, Orc and maybe even the giant insects bursting out of the kids bodies in PLAGUE
They should adapt Gone that’s the more interesting series
I echo the earlier comments. “Gone” would make for a great film franchise
Been watching this project for awhile. Jeff Olson is overseeing for Raimi. He’s a great executive and was shocked I didn’t see his name in this.
Signed, Jeff Olson. Just kidding, but let’s remember to give a nod to the hustlers out there.
No. No no no. It will either ruin the book or create a fanbase too massive (like the Hunger Games) and our tight-knit little BZRK community will be overridden by teenage fangirls.
You just do not understand what is happening around you. Some stories should remain in tv scripts or novels for that matter. Then there are others, which can be made possible for the BIG screen. Bzrk would be brilliant if converted into a movie! Michael Grant wrote the Gone series, not knowing whether it would be made into a movie, and then he wrote Bzrk, which is going to be made into a movie by a beloved director and producers. You should be happy about that, because at least a novel published by your favorite author will be made into a movie and you’ll have the opportunity to watch it.
Give people time to think about the possibility of making a Gone movie. I would even be glad if they made a television series based on it.
Anyway, I don’t know about you but I can’t wait for Bzrk to be displayed in front of me, while being surrounded by other adoring fans.
Gone movie . if they could make a BZRK movie why can’t they make one for Gone? they will never get the BZRK effects right anyway!
