EXCLUSIVE: The entire cast of NCIS will come back intact when the veteran CBS drama starts production on its 10th season next week. Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette and Sean Murray have all signed two-year deals to continue on the hit procedural starring Mark Harmon. Weatherly, Perrette and Murray are three of four veteran NCIS cast members whose contracts were up after Season 9. The fourth,
David McCallum, re-upped in April, while negotiations between CBS/CBS Studios and Weatherly, Perrette and Murray continued on-and-off until separate agreements were reached over the past 10 days. Also returning with a new deal is Rocky Carroll, who joined NCIS in Season 5. Weatherly, Perrette and McCallum are original cast members, while Murray joined during the first season. The rest of the cast, including star/executive producer Harmon, have deals in place for next season.

Great….This is a good sign for fans & friends!
What about Cote de Paolo (SP?)? Ziva is a key member of the team.
EK – Read the last line of the post.
Cote still has a year left on the last contract she had signed.
shes coming back!
Glad to hear NCIS will have new season. Need all cast members to return, it takes them all to make the show. #1 show a HIT!!!!
ZIVA AND GIBBS SIGNED ONE A COUPLE OF SEASONS AGO MAYBE NEXT SEASON—————- EVERYBODY IS SIGNED——————–
Will Cote be returning. She has been an incredible addition to the team.
Great for the show but it will always be boring with ziva david! She is cold and boring!
Wrong!
I LOVED Kate, but accepted Ziva .. she turned into a good character , she doesn´t appear boring to me…
I´m not a TIVA fan. So, I like her character just being ZIVA.
Kate was okay – fairly one-dimensional as a character. Ziva has a great deal more depth.
I love her. She is a fun character on the show with her ability to fight like a guy and shoot to kill. She is not cold. You have to look deeper into the character.
Hope CBS gave them everything they wanted. The best cast on TV returns!
with them you get at least 75% of what you wanted!! go EYE ntwk!
GREAT NEWS——————————- WELCOME BACK———————–
YAY!!!
I’m ecstatic and doing a little dance for joy! Thank you Sean!!!
And Michael and Pauley, of course. ;D
The team’s complete. I can sleep again. ;D
YAY!!!!!! HUZZAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHY? WHY, then, the cliffhanger— EVERYBODY LIVES. No One dies so yet another season of mindnumbingly tedious and formulaic obtuseness.
Tony continues to be a 12 year old in a 40 something body. McGee— well what exactly does McGee do other than look all exasperated and bewildered ALL at the same time? Ziva gets to cock tease with Tony whilst hanging around with less and less to do and endlessly mispronouncing simple English and mangling any Americanism that any illegal learned in Tijuana by the age of three. Poor Ducky seemed finally free— drops from a massive coronary alone on the beach at daybreak and still lives to dissect yet another cadaver. Abby,. who had become a cameo gets to show up for 3 minutes per episode to gush at Gibbs, get her caffeine slurpee and tell the gang all about the fingerprints as she has done in every episode for 10 LONG years. ( Somewhere Bellisario is blowing his brains out!)
GIBBS, past mandatory retirement— and double dipping at a time of fiscal crisis— lives to:
Slap Tony.
Mispronounce “Ziver”.
Stare at and frighten McGee till McGee gets his head on straight, yet again, and cracks into the CIA database for the umpteenth time ( One would imagine that the CIA by now just leaves a portal open for Gibbs and the gang. Easier on the software!)
Gets to listen to yet another pearl from the unending string of wisdom imparted by Ducky— a near 80 year old who until a season or two ago was a “bachelor” living with Mommy in Mom’s house!
Constantly be berated and doubted by “The Director”— the dim Rocky Caroll but in the time of Obama a Black guy/Half Black guy/Woman/Minority MUST be in charge even as his mediocrity continues to drag the organization under— and whomever the producers can afford at SecNav, even though Gibbs has solved every case every week for 10 years.
Gibbs gets to out fight, out shoot every terrorist 30-40 years younger— AND, continue daydreaming about his wife and kid dead for about 40 years. MAYBE ANOTHER FLASHBACK EPISODE WITH DEAD PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!
O.K. fans— another season of retread scripts, tired over the hill actors and a franchise on autopilot so as to continue those syndie $$$$$$$$$. ENJOY!
Be seeing you.
If you don’t like it don’t watch it.
Very adult response, Bob.
Next time hold your breath til you turn blue, as well.
you are so funny Jhon!!
please keep on writing!! ahahaha
Then don’t watch.
All of your statements are opinions. In my opinion, the characters have shown a lot of growth over the past nine seasons.
Tony is still Tony, but he’s grown up a lot from what he used to be like with Kate in season 1-2. McGee is not a probie anymore, but is still the “little brother” to Tony and so has growing pains. Ziva is still awesome, and as she said in an earlier season, speaks 5 languages so she gets confused. It happens. Gibbs has an accent (Harmon is from California) and so sometimes adds an “r” to words that end in vowels. It happens. Not a reason to condemn a hit.
As for Abby and Ducky…well…you’ve described their jobs. Jobs are sometimes tedious and you do the same thing over and over again.
Plus, you’re dealing with an ensemble cast. You can’t feature EVERY character in every episode. Some are in the spotlight for some episodes, others take a backseat. Not every episode of M*A*S*H was superb…again, an ensemble cast that aired for 11 seasons.
So! Agree, disagree…but in the end…if you don’t enjoy, don’t take part. We won’t miss you.
Now…back to looking into Mark Harmon’s dreamy dreamy eyes…*happy sigh*
OBVIOUSLY from my comments to anyone but the starry eyed or the learning impaired, I watch the show. Perhaps if fans demanded something more than simply a comfortable a show on autopilot if would regain its lost vibe.
Sorry Amy, “dreamy eyes” is happily hitched!
Even RERUNS of this “lost vibe” show outrank anything but a current sporting event. If it ain’t broke, don’t “fix” it.
NCIS the most watched TV series that airs during both halves of the television season in the United States, making it the country’s most-watched scripted series for the third consecutive season.
Sorry AmyR, “dreamy eyes” is married.
started to read; saw it was long, skipped to end;
saw dollar signs
assumed the post was some kind of spam
Amazed you can actually read.
you must not watch the show if you can’t even come up with the correct facts.
Gibbs’ wife and child died in 1991; 21 years ago — NOT 40 years. lol
in NCIS time, Ducky is about 73, probably not considered “nearly 80″ by most
i could go on, but don’t really need to. what i really find unfortunate is that apparently you’ve lost your tv remote and are incapable of changing the channel on tuesday nights, given you seem to hate the show so much. time to grow up, kiddo.
Guess you’ve never heard of “poetic license” to tell a broader truth.
Well, if you don’t like the show, then don’t come here to complain about it. We’re NCIS fans and thrilled that we have another season to watch our favorite team in action. NCIS just wouldn’t be the same without any of the characters, so I’m happy Michael, Sean, and Pauley renewed their contracts.
As for Gibbs and how he says ‘Ziver’, that’s a term of endearment, just in case you didn’t know that, or maybe you did but just can’t handle that piece of information.
Either way, as you said ‘Be seeing you’….don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
I echo what Zoya said – if you don’t like the program, then don’t watch it. Save your negative comments about the series for anyone who cares, but it’s not us.
Wow!Has John Drake been watching some other series??
Considering both characters and actors -to be fair there have been times when I have wished ‘Tony’ would be less invasive or childish. But when you really watch the show with true interest and affection for the characters, you DO see the serious and supportive side that the writers let him exhibit. For all the frivolity, Michael Weatherly imbues his character with real steel and loyalty when the chips are down (as we say in the UK).
As to David McCallum’s ‘Ducky’ – as an actor he gives a brilliant portrayal of a gracefully ageing person who wanders into nostalgic memories from time to time. This is NEITHER poor writing NOR mundane acting. It is a true reflection of life – a wish to share a treasure trove of memories and knowledge – and feel he is making a valid contribution.
Like so many viewers whose comments I have read as I have waited for the news that all cast members have signed new contracts, I totally love his portrayal and am thrilled he will still be part of the team.
Cote de Pablo is frankly bloody brilliant as ‘Ziva’and not only looks the part but manages to hold her own – so great acting to great writing!
‘McGee’ is great and Sean Murray has settled into the Gibbs team really well.
As for ‘Gibbs’ – Wow! Mark Harmon is totally the part – and whilst you refer to him as past mandatory retirement he is way too fit to retire. Also – the writers have portrayed him as injured from time to time – so he doesn’t so much as outshoot any opponent as sometimes manage to survive a battle!
Finally – a light hearted jokey observation that would mean something to British viewers – “Perhaps you should have gone to Specsavers John”. (That’s an Optician company in the UK – and their advertisements portray people who don’t see things so well and need to get some new glasses.)
Sorry if that was a bit cheeky – but we totally love NCIS here. I have NEVER known a long running series, writers or their actors who have performed so consistently well throughout. For us, the fact that we are going on into Season 10 and hopefully Season 11 is a joy and not a drag. Thanks for everything Team Gibbs!! All of you!
Sorry if “Cheeky” you does’nt get the “John Drake” nom de plume.
Thank you Allison, that was excellent. I’m looking forward to NCIS for another season! John Drake, you have a sad life and just want to argue. If that makes your life complete and less sad … continue on.
And yet you watch. We fans are overjoyed,
Of course I watch— but that does not blind me to the encroaching mediocre. Yearn for the harder edged, more challenging Bellisario days. So should you!
He’s not wrong though.
Thank you!
Hooray…they’re back. But you are wrong, friend. That’s the secret of a successful show. all the characters ding their thing and the audience(growing bigger every year )loving it. You knew every move, sound and line Gleason’s Ralph Kramden would do, even to a point where no line was given anymore, just a hand motion, and you still screamed with laughter…With NCIS the writing is still great and the plots still keep you guessing, while the team does its things…why only contracts for two years and not five more????
IF you actually believe that the writing is still “great” and the plots still keep you “guessing”— then I respectfully suggest that you broaden your horizons.
HOW can the writing be “great” and the plot keep you “guessing”, for example, when we have yet another non cliffhanging cliffhanger:
NO ONE, not in an exploding building— not in a plunging, caved in elevator— or a massive coronary alone on the beach at approx 80 years of age ( fine, pretend middle 70′s!), dies. WHY the set-up? Why waste the viewers time with the “Perils of Pauline” approach ( In reading the various insults hurled at me by others on this site for simply stating a point of view, I am stunned by the lack of intellect so for the record and the dumbed down “Perils of Pauline” was a circa 30′s/early ’40′s movie serial wherein the heroine escaped unscathed weekly any over the top dangerous situation into which she was placed.), if the outlandish notion that all would survive such terror?
This is tired, pedestrian writing. Say whatever one will about Bellisario but the show had an intensity and the guts to actually kill off characters AND bring a hard edged vibe to Gibbs, and for all the jokey “chemistry, the team.
Does anyone actually want to argue that this is the case today?
IF so, then perhaps you are the one not watching this series and its skid to the mediocre.
In Short, If Harmon and company are to slog on for another year— WHY NOT up their game? Why not return to a harder edged realism? Why not some innovative plotting? Why not more interesting writing, casting and execution?
Sorry to all the true believers for whom the run of the mill is awesome— the bland magnificent— the predictable commonplace.
Writing so “GREAT” and the plots that “KEEP YOU GUESSING” so much that HQ is blown to smithereens ala Oklahoma City— YET NO ONE DIES!!! Yup, great writing for the mentally impaired.
John,
With regard to Gibbs being past mandatory retirement age, the character was born in 1956, Harmon is portraying 5 years younger. Most all government jobs (NCIS, FBI, military) and even police and firefighter — mandatory retirement age is 65. That means Gibbs would be 56 in September as we know from one of the episodes he was born in September. Technically, Gibbs would have to retire before September 2021.
Also, his wife and child haven’t been dead for 40 years, they were killed in 1991, which was 21. And yes, I know what it is like to still yearn for someone after their death. My grandma never re-married and missed my grandfather everyday until she died some 22 years later. It is called love. Some can move on, others cannot.
Since Bellisario left or was ousted the series INCREASED in viewership, not decreased. Obviously there is something he failed to do, or because the cast is being treated better they want to stay on the show. It boils down to being happy, and feeling appreciated. As long as NCIS has a strong viewership, the network isn’t going to cave into the minority few who perhaps don’t like where the series is going.
As far as Ducky living with “mommy”, you were aware his mother needed care due to dementia? My grandmother lived with my uncle until her death because familiar surroundings were important to people with Alzheimer’s and dementia. It helped them find balance and comfort. Perhaps “mommy” was living with her son, as some older folks do. Heartless aren’t we? Hope you never get old, you’d likely kill yourself. But, trust me, some of us don’t mind older people. They’re our legacy and history. Without them, we wouldn’t be here — literally and figuratively.
While you might not like “older people”, some of us can learn and be guided by them. My mom is 61 and I never stop learning from her. I love and respect her. I hope she is around forever
And by the way, Bellisario is OLD! I mean why doesn’t he retire and let young people run the shows? How can you yearn for the “old days” written by “old people” when in your posts you obviously can’t stand old people. Makes your post seem less credible. Consider how you point your facts unless your trolling. Just some “friendly” advice.
John,
I know my words won’t have an effect on you, nor will yours have an effect on me. But, you should realize that we don’t always get what we want. If you don’t like it, don’t tune in. Don’t like the news about the show, don’t read it. But, don’t be surprised if people tend to nitpick on your opinions when you do.
You’re entitled to your opinion, I am entitled to mine.
With that said … yes, I will enjoy another season
(PS: It is called “entertainment” and “fiction” for a reason)
RELAX! It is only a T.V. show— and only one person’s OPINION.
It is not truth or fact— simply FICTION, and tired rehash as well.
Learn the difference between commentary and reportage.
Learn tolerance of a different point of view.
Learn some good manners.
Just some “friendly” advice.
John,
While I appreciate your point of view, you must appreciate mine as well. “Learning tolerance of a different point of view” goes both ways not just one.
You were the one who started the discussion with your comments about the age of the character and the actors, as well as the story-lines. I countered your opinion.
Perhaps you need to learn the lessons as well. After all, I too am entitled to my opinion.
So learning respect is both ways. Respect is not given, it is earned.
And remember, you get what you give.
I don’t need to learn anything from you, my mother taught me more than enough “good manners”. I was merely commenting as well. You brought up issues, and I countered, like any debate.
You have your point of view, I have mine.
what an ass. stop watching if it hurts you bad
Such an elegant response.
Your reflexive intolerance to anyone’s opinion other than your own empirically proves that the only “ass” around these parts is you.
My, such wit.
If you have a remote , use it.. instead of crying about the show…and who or what is going on in the show!! I think the show is fantastic..enjoy every minute of it..love the characters and glad they are all coming back…go watch the news, maybe you will find something there!!!
I agree with a fair amount of the things you said, John Drake…
But I love most of them! Those things are what keep me watching.
I never get tired of the Gibbs slap. Or Abby’s hyperness. Or Gibbs saying “Ziver.” Or Tony’s childishness.
Ziva’s mispronunciations are a little hard to believe at this point, and Jimmy saying something inappropriate nearly every single episode sometimes gets a little old, so i’ts not a completely perfect show, but…
I’ve seen every single episode, and I am just as riveted by the show as I ever was.
I loved M*A*S*H and All in the Family and all of the classics, but most of them were all but unwatchable to me by the time they got much past Season 5. I’ve never, ever watched a show that’s been on the air this long and hasn’t jumped the shark years ago.
Regarding Bellisario, his long workdays drove Sasha Alexander away and would have driven Mark Harmon away had Bellisario not left the show. Him staying wasn’t going to happen.
It’s a bummer that you don’t enjoy watching the show anymore, but happily, that hasn’t happened for me yet.
I believe we all have a right to speak what we feel, but I really don’t like what you had to say about NCIS, if you don’t like the show then by all means don’t watch it, no one is twisting your arm to make you watch it. IT is a HIT!!! so I’m sure that one person who don’t want to watch the show it will not hurt the rating.
So change the channel, I’m sure you could find something else to watch. Maybe a sitcom…………..
I can’t tell you how excited I am about everyone coming back. With out this cast, I wouldn’t want to watch! David McCallum, I watched him on Man from Uncle. Mark from Star Wars in the late 70′s. Pauley from this show along with Michael, Sean, and Cote Da Pablo.
Thank you for returning to the show. Also, you to Rocky. Break a leg. My grandparents were in the biz.
I think you messed up a touch…Mark Harmon was never in Star Wars, nowhere near that. It was Mark Hamill. While they don’t look at all alike, given that their names are somewhat similar, I can see why you make the little mix up. Thought I’d let you know.
what do you want ? blood! it’s a bloody good show, very entertaining,Abbs is brilliant, you must watch big brother and all that tripe..
Everyone forgets the “evil twin” option. Brilliant. You kill off three of these characters and use their evil twins with bad wigs.
To be serious, the thing that got me hooked on the show was the Ari the terrorist plot device. I did not track contract renewals and was intrigued by the guts to kill off the Kate character. The last two seasons have seen overly safe. They need to introduce a few more regular faces to the cast and then start killing them off, or having them be double agents (like the Agent Lee character). Ever since the Sheppard character was killed off, the show has been coasting. It is still entertaining, but NCIS Los Angeles is becoming more of a favorite.
U don’t like it? Don’t watch it..seems you haven’t lose a single episode since you know a lot of details! Duh!
If you don’t like the show or anything about it, why do you watch it!
I can’t understand why you watch this show when you sound like you hate it. I think you speak with forked tongue because you know an awful lot about the stories and stars. So why don’t you just turn the channel to some other BORING show and leave NCIS alone!!!!
shes a team member, but not for as long as Murray and the other members
Well the field team (including Ziva), Abby, Ducky and Palmer have been there together since the beginning of season 3. That is 7 full seasons and by the end of season 10 it will be 8 seasons. EVERY cast member, also Rocky, is vital to the show. The combination of the characters is why people tune in. I think the show would be massively affected if one of them ever left. It’s why people tune in. For all of them. Which is why I hope that nobody will leave until the very end of them. My heart would bleed if one of them ever left. I am extremely happy that all of them are in for season 10 and hope that Mark and Cote will sign next year as well.
I totaly agree, if any of them left the show, it would not be the same. Me and my husband are ture NCIS fans thru and thru! We have watched every episode over and over. We never get tired of them, we love it. I’m so glad the whole team is coming back.
Great! It is a great group of actors. Love every episode. The show wouldn´t be the same without Sean , Michael and Pauley. Looking forward seeing the new episodes.
So thrilled to hear that Michael, Sean and Pauley are coming back for 2 more years. Looking forward to what Season 10 has in store for Tony and Ziva, McGee, Abby, Gibbs, Palmer, Vance & Ducky. NCIS would not be the same without any of the cast.
Yeah I am so relieved without those three there wouldnt be a ncis
Really happy to have them all back next season!
John Drake would make a great critic. John- let it all out. Don’t hold back.
Of course what they are doing seems to work.
i love the series, hope it goes on for many years, the ppl with the stupid comments get on your horse, giddy up,WE LOVE NCIS,YIPPY
I hope Cote De Pablo returns or NCIS will not be the same. Love the character Ziva.
your wish is granted. Cote is already under contract through next season … though next spring/summer will be contract time for her as well.
I don’t think there was much chance that they wouldn’t all come back – the one I was most concerned about was Sean since his McGee has been put on the back burner starting back in Season 3, sitting at his desk on the computer most of the time. Hopefully he’ll be given more field work to do in Season 10.
As long as the Tiva anvils end I’ll be there until the series goes off the air. If it stays, I’ll be going. I agree with Mr Weatherly that putting these 2 together would be “a disaster for the show. A disaster.”
HELL YEAH!!! Finally my hours of frantic worry will be at last extinguished. Until next time that is…
Its quite sad that you feel that way. If you actually paid attention to the show you’d realize what great chemistry she and her portrayer has with her castmates. Your name here is also quite inappropriate in my opinion.
NCIS ROCKS!!! Loved everyo, but Tony ,omg,.DREAMY… WELCOME BACK CAST..SO EXCITED..cant wait 4 the new season 2 start!!!!
Great news about next season of ncis cant wait. They are a great team and i love gibbs.
I am so glad to hear that McGee is OK.
And now if Gary Glasberg would stop sidelining McAbby for the sake of more more more more more Tiva, and if only the newer writers (I’m looking at you Nicole Mirante-Matthews, Scott Williams, Gina Monreal, and yes, even you Chris Walid) spent the hiatus rewatching old seasons so they know who in the hell these characters even are, that would be really really swell. Or, you know, quit and let the professionals do all the (good) work.
A season 10 with absolutely no episodes with only 90 seconds of Abby acting quirky so we know how zany she is would be really super great. Please, writers, watch some more Frank & George, Donald Bellisario, Steve Binder and Jesse Stern episodes. PLEASE.
Let’s be serious. Were they ever going to leave. They have been on this same show for 10 years and are probably all a “young” 45. The show is OK , I do find I get tired of the “here I am watch me do something juvenile” Tony stuff but the rest of the cast is decent. Just saw MW on the Talk and what an attention getter.Sticking ice down his pants, come on grow up! Not surprised that Shana Alexander couldn’t take the constant adlibbing. Was disappointed when she left but the Ziva character was pretty cool.
Would these people really be that stupid not to sign contracts for $100,000 a show. Obviously Mark Harmon is in an entirely different category ($350,000 a show) and if he leaves the show ends. Yeah DiNozzo was really weird on that ladies talk show on CBS. He really needs to shelve the facial expressions. My mother was sitting there saying “what a show off he is, look at him looking to see if anyone is laughing”.
I am so glad that they all are coming back!! Tony is my favorite character!! Ducky, he lives!! Either that or it is his ghost. With my dad being Sheriff Coroner Marshall, I grew up around this type of stuff. Love it!!
What about Cote de Pablo? Is she going to be in next season? She needs to be she is also a key member of the team.
Kim,
Cote and Mark’s deal run through the END of the 10th season. So they will both be back. For some reason, Cote and Mark’s contracts run together.
Watch something else.
Love them miss Kate and the first director not crazy about Rocky Carroll.
Me for one am so glad that the whole team will be back next season.. yipppeeeee!! Terry B… the first director was played by Alan Dale… an Aussie… Neigbours, everyone needs good neigbours, (sorry about that, just makes me want to break out in song) Alan Dale played a character in an Aussie soap called Neigbours… still running 27 years later.
