Wass Stevens has joined the Netflix series House Of Cards in the recurring role of Paul Capra, who runs the shipyard workers’ association. David Fincher is directing the pilot and serves as executive producer of the political thriller starring Kevin Spacey and based on the BBC miniseries. Media Rights Capital is producing. Wass most recently appeared in the comedy feature My Man Is A Loser with John Stamos and Michael Rapaport. Wass is represented by ATA Management.
Aaron Douglas (Battlestar Galactica, The Bridge) has joined the Netflix series Hemlock Grove as Sheriff Sworn, the local lawman investigating a young girl’s gruesome murder in a Pennsylvania steel town. Based on a novel by Brian McGreevy, Hemlock Grove stars Famke Janssen and Dougray Scott, and the initial episode will be directed by Eli Roth. The Gaumont International series begins filming next week in Toronto. Douglas is repped by Pacific Artists Management and Gersh.

Still made that Hemlock Grove pulled out of filming in Pittsburgh at the last minute. I had friends who passed up other better paying jobs and were willing to work at a “hometown discount”. Good luck making Toronto look like Western Pa fellas
I HATE it when shows and movies are not shot where they are supposed to be set. Places are a character unto themselves, like Georgia in The Walking Dead. Southern forests have a certain look and even a Californian like me knows what they look like.
Just look at Falling Skies, and their version of “Boston,” where not one character has a Boston accent! And now they’re trying to make Canada look like Charleston, good luck with THAT!
Or Hatfields & McCoys, shot in Romania of all places. No chance for seeing the wonderful fall foliage of the Appalachians. In fact, there didn’t seem to be any change in seasons, over several decades.
But the worst is when they try to pass anyplace off as San Francisco (such as the justly cancelled Alcatraz, ugh!)
Agreed. I especially don’t buy it when New York isn’t New York.
When you start forking up the money to budget the filming then you can flap your gums.
Can’t wait for Hemlock Grove and House of Cards is great! Love Kevin Spacey.
Great casting of Aaron Douglas. This makes me even more interested in Hemlock Grove, though I still don’t understand what it’s about.
Good for Douglas. He’s a great actor and the show’s lucky to have him. More importantly, we respect his alternative lifestyle and we support it.

But the important question is Who is going to work the door at Avenue while Wass is filming?
I live in the Santa Clarita Valley & a lot of stuff is filmed out here. I love Justified but immediately taken out of the show when I see streets I’ve been down hundreds if times that are supposed to be in Kentucky. Same with Weeds and Big Love and NCIS
