There wasn’t a lot new on television Sunday night and no new drama. ABC had Secret Millionaire (1.5/5) at 8 PM, which was up 25% compared with last week. That was followed by a two-hour Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition (1.5/4) which was also up 25% from the previous week. NBC had a new Dateline (1.1/4) at 7 PM, which was down 8% from the last new show two weeks ago that aired at 8 PM. CBS won the night in total viewers with 5.48 million, and ABC won in adults 18-49.
Otherwise it was all repeats on all networks. ABC stared the night with an encore America’s Funniest Home Videos (1.0/4) at 7 PM. CBS followed its 60 Minutes (0.9/3) at 7 PM with a repeat 60 Minutes: Remembering Mike Wallace (0.8/3) at 8, followed by an encore The Good Wife (0.5/2) and The Mentalist (0.5/1). NBC had repeats of America’s Got Talent (1.0/3) at 8 PM and 9 PM (0.9/3). Fox had repeats with American Dad (0.7/2) at 7 PM, then The Cleveland Show (0.8/3), The Simpsons at 8 (1.2/4) and 8:30 (1.3/4), followed by Family Guy at 9 (1.7/5) and 9:30 (1.8/5). The 9:30 PM Family Guy was the night’s highest-rated show in 18-49s.

I never watch ANY of those Sunday night shows, anyway! Sunday night is “News Night”, “Longmire” and “Falling Skies” night for me. That will keep me and my DVR busy through Monday night. MUCH better quality programming than anything “the networks” have been shoveling at the American Public on Sunday nights for quite some time.
(not to mention the “Talking Dead” special that was on AMC last night, too!)
Does anyone wonder why no one watches tv anymore? a 2 hour weight loss program? If the suits in charge would simply schedule a decent drama or comedy…….
Watched Secret Millionaire last night. This is a joke. $15k for group 1, $50K for group 2 & $75K for group 3? Something like that. Come on… you call that a contribution? If any (multi-millionaire) can’t drop $100K per group or individual then it’s not a show worth watching. How cheap can one get; stinks. Hey, folks… shell out some REAl $$$ so it’s worth watching & not just self-serving.
BTW… on another note, isn’t “Bachelorette” show misleading. I thought true Bachelors & Bacheolrettes are/were ‘singles’ “without kids.”
Can’t the networks think of anything else to air but worn-out reality shows and crappy cartoons? Then the networks wonder why nobody bothers to watch TV anymore. Too much of this crap on the air as it is and they keep force-feeding it down our gullets.
Summer programming with a few exceptions is dreadful. What are they thinking? Year round programming? Bad ripoffs of existing summer shows and nothing genuinely new in concept. No wonder the audience flees broadcast in summer.
