CBS’ Unforgettable beat the odds by scoring a 13-episode second-season renewal after getting cancelled in May. But not everyone from the drama procedural’s cast will be back when series returns next summer. CBS and producing studios Sony Pictures TV and CBS TV Studios locked in stars Poppy Montgomery and Dylan Walsh before the series’ pickup last month. Also signed for Season 2 is Jane Curtin, who joined the series as a new regular halfway through the first season. The three were considered key to Unforgettable‘s renewal. As for the rest of the series’ regular cast, none is expected to continue as producers are evaluating the show’s creative direction. “CBS made some creative changes and the supporting cast will not be returning next season,” Season 1 Unforgettable regular Daya Vaidya tweeted earlier this month. “Yea, Nina, Roe, Mike and Tanya r gone,” she wrote, referring to the characters played on the show by her and fellow regulars Kevin Rankin, Michael Gaston and Britt Lower.

It’s the writer/producers who need replacing, not the supporting cast. This show had argaubly the most amateurish writing on TV. So now I guess that sappy dialogue will just come out of different mouths. Deck chairs, Titanic.
Why renew it at all? The show had bad ratings and will do worse in summer. CBS will regret renewing it.
It got 11 million viewers — so it did do well — just not by CBS standards. On any other network this show would have been renewed. Any fans of this show have zero right to complain about these cast changes because it’s a miracle that this show even came back — I don’t know of any show that has come back from being cancelled — especially without some kind of fan uproar writing campaign going.
Typical CBS, I was so happy to see this show renewed, wanted it renewed for a long time and so sad it was cancelled, but what are they doing!?!?! They’re setting Unforgettable to fail again so they can cancel it once and for all!!! Bring the supporting cast back!!
This is really unfortunate since it was the supporting cast which made the show partially watchable. Poppy Montgomery – and the character she played – were awful and very unlikeable. How ridiculous that TIIC decided to toss aside the only reasons to watch the show – the supporting cast. Morons. The only good move that they made was to retain Jane Curtin.
It’s not the supporting cast that was the problem. It was the scripts and the fact Poppy Montgomery is impossible.
I like the show but have to agree about the writing for some but not all of the episodes. Syracuse, NY may not be a bustling metropolis like NYC but it certainly is not the one red light hick town that was portrayed in the show. That last episode where Carrie goes looking for her sister’s killer had me laughing out loud. I hope they get better writers for the next season or I’ll be gone too.
Would have be been better as a dramedy staring Marli Lu Henner playing herself in a way living her life.
I wonder if Poppy’s character is going to remember all the colleagues who are no longer there…
CBS needs to hype Dylan Walsh more , most people did not Evan know he was on the show until med season, he was not Evan on the posters ???
It did shitty when you look at its lead/in…. Retaining 65 percent. Not good.
It got 11 million my ass. Even if you believe the rating system it took from NCIS Las Vegas and in the half hour it dropped 20 to 30 percent. Every. Single. Week. So now they will stick it on behind what? Come on, what?
CBS thinks they can score points buy putting on in the summer. CBS also thought the A Gifted Mind was a good idea. And that the fugitive was better than CSI. Oooo. Did I say that. How did I know that.
LOL
I will certainly be watching the show when it returns, however they decide to revamp it.
Poppy Montgomery as the Carrie Wells character is very enjoyable to watch, and I hope we see an expanded role for wonderful Jane Curtin as a result of these changes.
Thanks for the new episodes, CBS.
Brilliant show, Treats the sudience with respect for their intelligence. Love the rock star Poppy who sets example of a strong role model for young girls – no more violence toward women – just good mystery and you need to follow the clues along the way and weeks to stay up to speed each episode as we move along toward
a complicated mystery with a woman who has a real neurological and fascinating prognosis. Peo who say you need new writers are not following closly enough.
Love the Actor who was The Caller, as well as Poppy, Dylan and Jane. Thank you CBS – Best to Team Unforgettable – a classic for television – as good as any movie and we’re all there for every show.
This is not a big deal. Poppy, Dylan and Jane ARE the show. No disrespect to the rest of the cast, but their characters were pretty much interchangeable with the crew from, say, CASTLE. If any of them had broken out, Winkler-style, they’d still be there, but they didn’t, so they’re not. More likely this was a cost-cutting maneuver to alleviate the lower ratings they’ll get in summer playtime.
Supporting cast?Don’t even remember who they were. Liked the show and when jane Curtin came on it locked in the usual formula by having a curmudgeon medical examiner….The problem in this impatient society which has been nurtured, is the suits in the networks. Each year they cancel new shows that have potential and the next year put on something worse. Where would some of the greatest shows on television be if the head honchos hadn’t had the gut instinct to wait for an audience to grow?…Eleven millions viewers is fine in today’s world for a new show…you can’t measure it against two well established shows, the first of which is a mega hit that gets stronger each year.Of course you will lose some viewers.
I found the stories to be deeply, profoundly mundane, and the writing lacked wit. Poppy Montgomery’s character lacked depth or sympathy appeal. The memory thing is a shallow gimmick.
Well, I will not be watching then. WIthout Kevin Rankin and Britt Lower, the show will not be the same and will have lost some of the qualities that made it good. So disappointed! Now it will be just a show with a gimmick and no interesting characters to give it color.
Oh she will remember them, but as characters in one of her bizarro day dream/nightmare montages.
*snile*
We’re glad to see it back! Poppy Montgomery and Dylan Walsh have a great show, they just need another season with new writing material. Would like to see a more diversified cast using disabled actors with speaking roles, however they do get great accolades for their outreach approach. We’re getting work
Loved Carrie and the entire show. Intelligent and fasscinating (showing a real life rare neurological condition). Love the strong and rebel woman Carrie plays – dating nice guy from Mafia family – and especially loved Carrie’s Caller episodes.
But perhaps this show is too sophisticated for tv audiences today who loive to be spoon fed reality showsm sitcoms and matial made for morons. I can’t believe the majority of comments above – get a Brain folks!
I so agreeeee with you these ppl definitely don’t know good TV
