EXCLUSIVE: The Housewives, a multi-camera comedy from Saturday Night Live alumna Casey Wilson, actress/writer June Diane Raphael, Will Gluck and Sony Pictures TV, has landed at ABC with a put pilot commitment.
Written and executive produced by Wilson and Raphael, The Housewives is about three female friends in 1954. Raphael is in negotiations to play one of the three leads in the project, produced by Sony TV and Gluck’s studio-based TV production company Olive Bridge Entertainment. Richard Schwartz co-executive produces.
The Housewives reunites the auspices behind last year’s single-camera comedy project Walk Of Shame, which also was set up at ABC through Sony TV and Gluck’s company, with Wilson and Raphael writing. Wilson has a pre-existing relationship with ABC and Sony TV — she co-stars on the ABC/Sony comedy Happy Endings. This marks the second major sale for Gluck’s company this season, following the 22-episode on-air commitment it received from NBC for a family comedy starring Michael J. Fox.
UTA-repped Wilson and Raphael, who met in a clown class at NYU, are long-time writing and stage partners and best friends. They have performed together at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and co-wrote the feature Bride Wars. The duo just wrapped the comedy feature Ass Backwards, which they co-wrote and play the two leads in. Raphael (NTSF:SD:SUV::), managed by The Collective, will next be seen in Imogene, which premieres at the Toronto Film Festival. Wilson is managed by Naomi Odenkirk.
The Housewives extends ABC’s commitment to multicamera comedy. The network also recently greenlighted a second pilot for its multicamera project from last season Kings Of Van Nuys starring John Leguizamo.

Good for Will! A talented guy and a class act. More deserved success!
Hard to explain the success of these two. While I enjoy them as actors, I have read them and they’re not talented writers.
Those Olive Bridge kids are SUPERSTARS!
Love this idea.
Couldnt disagree more. I saw a lot of their work in NYC and it was always top-notch. Bride Wars was tough because they wrote a VERY funny script that got screwed up by a lot of other people. I can’t wait to see what they come up with when they’re in charge!
Casey was great on SNL and she’s foxy too.
Are they fun in the room and talented? 100%. Can they write? No. They cannot.
Read WALK OF SHAME. it’s amazing.
very bright-very talented writers and actresses-great to work with and be arround-the best!!
Two very talented ladies!
Congratulations to them.

I love these girls they are so smart and so funny ! They are both so talented!
Congratulations!! We need more funny shows written by funny women!
It’s going to be on ABC? Well, I guess that means they’ve written off the entire male demographic.
Love them and this project. Bride Wars was overwritten by the studio. Walk of Shame is fantastic. So happy to see genuinely talented people getting work.
