Heading into its second season, Anderson, the one-hour daily syndicated talk show hosted by Anderson Cooper, is changing its name to Anderson Live as it is adopting a new live format with rotating co-hosts. As we reported in February, the show will also move from its original setting at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s The Allen Room to the CBS Broadcast Center in New York where it will tape in front of a live audience on the stage previously occupied by The Nate Berkus Show. Anderson underwent a change at the helm during its freshman season, with Terence Noonan taking over as executive producer. He will now be joined by George Davilas as Co-Executive Producer. “Being live plays to Anderson’s strengths, providing immediacy and topicality, which allows us to talk about what is going on in the world,” Noonan said.

Probably for the best. The old format was some weird Frankenstein combination of the worst parts of Oprah, Dr. Phil and Ellen.
So, it’s basically Live with Kelly!, but with a mixture of the mindless and actual importance. Anderson was great when he started on World News Tonight, hopefully they can get this one to work for him.

Anderson bubby baby listen pal what you need is some big publicity something that will grab headlines. How about if you come out of the closet and hint that you’re now openly gay? This will make big news and give you millions of new viewers. Your problem is that you’re very dull and drab. In a word Anderson you’re boring. What? You already came out and it didn’t bring in new viewers? Hmm. Give me a couple days and I’ll get back to you with something better.
I was under the impression that the only reason he came out of the closet was to avoid being fired. Its hard to fire a gay person in this social climate.
Why in hell would Anderson Cooper get fired for being gay? He came out because he decided it was time to tell those few people who didn’t know. We knew, we like him, we don’t care if he’s gay.
There is no point in a title change unless it’s to “Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper”
I really liked the old set, it had a view into the city. Also in most markets do they air at the same time to be live?

If he is changing his show as described then why doesn’t he just become Kelly’s co-host.

I’m so confused – I have direct tv and Anderson is on NBC but this article says he will do the show live from the CBS Broadcast Center? and before the show was on my local Fox network – someone help my old feeble mind understand all this! No matter which really – glad he’s off Fox if that’s the case and I”ll just watch to see where he pops up out here LOL
