It is now official: The Arsenio Hall late-night syndicated talk show will debut in Fall 2013 as CBS TV Distribution has sold the strip to stations in more than 85% of the country. Tribune Broadcasting was CTD’s original producing partner that provided the anchor station group with its 17 stations, including the top three markets. Now the strip has been cleared in all of the top 50 markets. In addition to the Tribune, CBS Television and local TV stations that initially signed on, stations from Sinclair Broadcasting, LIN Television Stations, Belo Corp., Cox Enterprises, Media General, Post-Newsweek Stations, Newport Television, Raycom Media and The Grant Group have also picked up the show.

It’s like I’ve hit my head, fallen asleep, and woken up in … 1991! P.S. Will Louis Farrakhan be his first guest?
Youd think they could get it on the air sooner than 13 months from now
Good for Arsenio!! No one has been able to replace him and now is the perfect time for
him to reclaim his audience and their kids back for his own!!
The late-night talk-show scene is now so crowded (even more than it was when Arsenio’s show ended in the early 1990′s) that Arsenio’s new show probably won’t make it.
Perhaps the show should be re-engineered for the 7-8 P.M. (ET/PT) “prime access” hour. As the only talk/variety show geared for that time period, it might be just enough of an alternative to succeed.
Smartest post so far. Good thinking, Joseph.
Excellent suggestion about “prime access”, Joseph.
Those who don’t learn from the past are condemned to repeat it…
Absolutely…Arsenio is gonna repeat a million dollar payday!
Eh, I’m more of a Sajak fan.
I think this GREAT!!!
HE’s NOT JAY, DAVID, either JIMMY, Criag, he’s Arsenio HALLLLLL still a classic. It was the HOTTEST thing going during it’s time. I think they will set it up great, he still has the notebook from the old show of what worked & didn’t work. Know one has had that kinda of buzz, in the late night space since.
I doubt anyone will tune in past the curiosity stage unless he can bring something vastly different to the crowded late night talk format. As Letterman, Leno and O’Brien continue to make their decent into irrelevance, bringing in another tired old act doesn’t make much sense to me.
You know the old saying, “You can’t go home again?” Well, I have 3 words: “The Rosie Show” and look what a debacle that was! Hope Arsenio has better luck!
