Once Upon A Time has found its Captain Hook. Irish actor Colin O’Donoghue (The Rite) will play the recurring character on the upcoming, magic-themed second season of ABC’s fairytale drama. The Captain Hook character has had fans buzzing since Once creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis teased it at the show’s Comic Con panel.
This marks O’Donoghue’s return to ABC where he played the male lead in the 2011 drama pilot Identity. The actor, who also did an arc on The Tudors, has signed with UTA for representation. He is also repped by Alchemy Entertainment and UK agent Jonathan Arun.

Noice! What a hottie mchotterson! Have hopes for Season 2 again.
What great casting. that kid is a star!
The Rite sucked, but this guy’s a total star. Great role too. They unveiled this character at Comic-Con and 5,000 people showed up to see the 30 second spot.
Perfect choice!
Captain *Hook?
Blah. I wish they had chosen an older, creepier looking actor.
Still a terrible show, especially when compared with Grimm (which is so much smarter and better)
i wachted the first 10 min of grimm and turned of and i normally finish a episode no matter how boring it is or stupid but i had not seen grimm before
Colin’s a great choice for Captain Hook..hes a true talent.
Are the OUAT people allergic to older actors? And by “older” I mean “people past 35 years old”. This is turning into a CW teen-drama.
Robert Carlyle is 51, and is the single best reason to watch the show.
The Rite Was Excellent Movie,Colin O’Donghue ROCKS
