Music and entertainment channels were among the Google-funded YouTube services that benefited most from the end of the London Summer Olympics based on our ranking of that universe for the week that ended on August 15. Heavyweights led by The Warner Sound, Sourcefed, and Noisey picked up the most views. And two channels that rode the Olympic wave — the U.S. Olympic team’s Team USA and WSJ Digital Network — suffered the biggest declines. Total views, at 77.5M, were virtually flat with last week. The top 10 channels accounted for 52%. Returning to the top 10 were Noisey (+7 spots to No. 6) and Shut Up Cartoons (+1 to No. 10), while Clevver News made its first appearance there in the 12 weeks we’ve been tracking the channels, +5 to No. 7. Team USA made room, dropping 5 spots to No. 11 while Vice was -5 to No. 12, and WSJ Digital Network was -8 to No. 18.

The week’s biggest gainers measured by views: The Warner Sound (+2.1M to 8.6M), Sourcefed (+1.6M to 6.1M), Noisey (+1.1M to 3.2M), Clevver News (+745,491 to 2.9M), and Nuevon (+604,596 to 1.5M).  Those jumping most in rank: Maker Music (+16 to No. 58), Bonaroo 365 (+15 to No. 73), The Thrash Lab (+15 to No. 68), Bowery Presents (+14 to No. 56), and Reuters TV (+14 to No. 40). Biggest drops by views: Team USA (-1.7M to 2.2M), WSJ Digital Network (-1.3M to 1.2M), Vice (-1.2M to 2.2M), NOC (-1.2M to 771,651) and Motor Trend (-840,616 to 4.8M). Steepest declines by rank: Life and Times (-33 to No. 80), Fawn Inc (-17 to No. 57), NOC (-12 to No. 26), Nerdist (-12 to No. 55) and Machinima Prime (-12 to No. 46).
