SUNDAY AM, 5TH UPDATE: Friday’s very weak box office stayed soft Saturday to end the weekend with total moviegoing only around $90M on a par with last year. As predicted, Millenium’s and Lionsgate’s holdover The Expendables 2 finished in first place, followed by Universal’s two-week-old The Bourne Legacy in second place. But no new movie opening this week or weekend could even break $6.5M. “It’s exhausting working with numbers this bad,” one studio exec griped to me.
Among this weekend’s crop of newly released films, Sony Pictures’ Premium Rush opened poorly with very soft grosses of $6.3M. Producer Gavin Polone just saw his Pariah Television freshman ABC Family series Jane By Design canceled and now this Pariah production tanks as well. (Guess it sucks to be Polone these days. Maybe he should make his day job writing that lame blog.) The studio tried to interest young males with sports programming (NFL pre-season, UFC, MLB and wrestling) and a promotion running in over 4,000 GameStop stores. But what’s to be expected from a tired premise about a bicycle messenger being chased through Manhattan. And what a waste of talented actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt or director/screenwriter David Koepp. With a $30sM budget, the pic even underperformed Sony’s very low expectations. Only hope is if it does business overseas.
Hit And Run opened Wednesday and lost what little steam it had going into
this weekend ending up #10. Open Road picked up the U.S distribution rights and changed the name of the film from Outrun. My sources said the low-budget comedic chase movie would have been a solid win for Open Road with $10M for the 5-day opening. But it made only $5.8M. The film stars Kristin Bell and Dax Shepard who also wrote and co-directed with David Palmer. (They teamed up on Brother’s Justice in 2010). Shepard and Bell tried their best to drum up biz with appearances at word-of-mouth screenings all summer and on Kimmel, MTV, CMT, Spike. The film’s featured 1967 Lincoln also offered marketing opportunities on car enthusiast TV shows and websites. No go. Well, you know a movie is in trouble when Bradley Cooper appears in it looking unrecognizable in dreds.
Joel Silver had a parting gift for Warner Bros: his new Dark Castle Entertainment release The Apparition was widely panned even though it wasn’t even screened for critics. Not even Silver’s stunt casting of Twilight Saga‘s Ashley Greene in this supernatural story described as unscary and inept could give it a ghost of a chance at the box office. Pic was directed by first-time director Todd Lincoln who also wrote it and didn’t even make the Top 10, finishing #12. It’s unclear what will happen to Silver’s mxed bag Dark Castle now that he and Warner Bros have divorced after irreconcilable differences. Joel has now gone indie and made a 5-year distribution deal with Universal Pictures for his new division Silver Pictures Entertainment.

The shocker among all the films was Rocky Mountain Pictures’ political documentary 2016 Obama’s America which opened July 13th in very limited release and expanded into theaters across America this weekend. It wound up
in 4th place Friday and 8th place for the weekend. That’s stunning because it was playing in 2/3 fewer theaters across North American than the other wider release films. (See below for more details). Due to its hot pre-sales, the pic proved frontloaded which explains why its ranking started out #1 and then fell steeply by end of Sunday. But the doc’s new cume of $9.0M makes it the #1 all-time biggest-grossing conservative political documentary, besting Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed’s $7.7M. And the 6th all-time biggest political documentary behind liberal docs by Michael Moore and Al Gore. (Neither ranking is adjusted for inflation or higher ticket prices.) 2016 Obama’s America is based on conservative author and commentator Dinesh D’Souza’s New York Times bestselling 2010 book The Roots Of Obama’s Rage and co-directed by D’Souza and John Sullivan and produced by Academy Award winner Gerald R. Molen (co-producer of Schindler’s List). In fact, Molen credits “learning some lessons” from Michael Moore for the film: “When he released Fahrenheit 9/11 in 2004 ahead of the election, it sparked intense debate.” And 2016 Obama’s America‘s success comes from equally savvy marketing on the eve of the Republican National Convention next week.
Exhibitors were reporting busloads arriving at theaters around the country in pre-organized trips to the pic. It also employed much of the same marketing techniques used to garner attention and support for faith-based films, understandable since the audience is overlapping. Its campaign included advertising nationally over the past two weeks on talk radio and cable news channels including Fox News Channel, A&E, History and MSNBC. ”I didn’t believe it when I first saw the film taking off in pre-sales on Tuesday,” an exhibition insider tells me. “Because there’s not a lot of new product that’s taking off.”
The Top Ten based on weekend estimates are:

2. The Bourne Legacy (Universal) Week 3 [3,652 Runs] PG13
Friday $2.7M, Saturday $4.1M, Weekend $9.2M, Cume $85.4M

Friday $2.3M, Saturday $3.7M, Weekend $8.5M (-39%), Cume $28.2M

FRIDAY 2 PM: The anti-Obama movie 2016 Obama’s America went into wider release around America today and is opening right now in first place at the domestic box office. That’s quite a feat since the Rocky Mountain Pictures political documentary is still playing in only 1,090 North American theaters – or about 1/3 as many theaters as actioner The Expendables 2 (3,355 theaters). But these political documentaries like faith-based films are frontloaded. The Stallone pic from Millenium/Lionsgate still will end Friday and the weekend #1.
Both online ticket-sellers Fandango and MovieTickets.com showed advance buying for 2016 Obama’s America were accounting for 35% to 28% respectively before this weekend. It opened on July 13th in a preview on a single screen in Texas grossing almost $32,000 during its opening weekend, then expanded into 61 theaters including New York and Los Angeles. In August, the film widened to 169 theaters nationwide and expanded again this weekend. Distribution experts expect 2016 Obama’s America to fare similarly to that Kirk Cameron faith-based movie Fireproof. It was #1 in Fandango’s advance sales and did remarkably well during its opening Friday – but then ended up somewhere around #4 at the box office for the weekend.
Last weekend, 2016: Obama’s America grossed a strong $1.2M in 169 venues for a cumulative gross as of Thursday of $2.8M. It’s the #2 biggest indie documenatry of the year behind only The Weinstein Company’s Bully ($3.2 million) and already the #12 political documentary of all time. It will rise a lot higher in the rankings after this weekend.
2016 Obama’s America detractors decry it as a slick infomercial heavy with conspiracy theories. But D’Souza says he made the film to motivate moviegoers to question what an Obama second term would look like.

I loved Hit & Run, surprised it isn’t doing more business.
Elaborate, please! I think Kristen Bell is HOT! Politics is boring stooges arguing.
Exactly! Stooges! Therefore a documentary about them!
“When he released Fahrenheit 9/11 in 2004 ahead of the election, it sparked intense debate.”
Yet, George W. Bush was still elected in 2004, despite the movie.
Obviously, an Obama landslide is up ahead in November, if you want to listen to and believe the line of thinking of the producers of this ” ” ” documentary ” ” “.
Someone needs to rewatch the doc, it does not predict the Pretender in Chief winning anything but a seat next to Jimmy Carter in the worst president ever awards.
Very well put!!
“Republicans could soon champion the protection of Internet Freedom as an official party issue, The Daily Caller has learned. Language in the final draft of the Internet freedom proposal was obtained exclusively by The Daily Caller.”
I would have to say the casual objective observer could grasp which political party is at least attempting to keep government intervention over our lives down to a minimum. I’m not trying to discredit you in any way. But lets at least have an honest debate. Saying Obama isn’t the big spender while the Republicans are is laughable considering how the GOP has gotten more Libertarian since Obama has taken office. I think even a left-winger such as yourself could admit to that.
Those claiming they didn’t realize who he was before this film ignored his “share the wealth” reply to Joe the Plumber. A blue collar, self-made man is able to build himself a nest egg off his hard work & the candidate says he should fork off some of it because the govt can put it to better use than he can for the betterment of America.
All one has to do is see the movie ’2016′. It will scare the heck out of you when you realize what Obama is doing to our country. Very thought provoking.
Just saw “2016-Obama’s America” If you haven’t seen it – go! It will scare the cr*p out of you. It was 10:30 am on a Sunday and the theater was pretty crowded. When we got out people were lined up for the next showing. Very informative
Information is inherently unbiased. “It is what it is”. However, If you want to shape opinion(s) then you you tinker with the unbias part and come up with “It is what I say it is” and I can prove it by etc…
Look; THINK; Why now? The film is all about the election. It was not meant to “inform you” their mission is to sway you and your vote.
In essence, The film makers present themselves as visionaries who can not only perdict the future but can verify that perdiction (the etc…part) as acurate. Their “vision” is tainted by their mission. Think about that.
This doc is doing great!!! sorry to disappoint you
Hahaha,, I’m an atheist and loved it. Crazy huh? I don’t know why I’m shocked by the ignorance of the liberal followers that anyone who thinks fiscally conservative is religious. Open your eyes and use a little logic.
I’m an atheist and can’t wait to see the movie. WTH does faith have to do with this one, anyway?
Funny and too true!
Wake and bake hollywood. This doc IS doing great. My independent non-religious–raised catholic but don’t go to church ever—friends and I ALL went out to see it this weekend on our own volition.
4 of the 6 voted for Obama in 2008 and they’re not doing so this time around. The interest in this film is likely some indication of that.
“Fahrenheit 9/11″ also did great box office. Hmmm, let’s see, was the incumbent reelected in 2004 ???
I’m sad Hit & Run isn’t doing better. I too loved it. Thought it was really fun and funny. LOVE Kristen Bell.
Many people must feel like I do: Kristen Bell is annoying as all get out. I never will forget her “performance” on Ellen when she was telling about getting a sloth. It just didn’t ring true and was just too, too precious.
Kristin Bell doesn’t bother me but can someone tell me why Dax Shepard a) has a career in show-business and b) is married to Kristin Bell? I first saw him on Punk’d and found him to be both less talented and more annoying than Ashton Kutcher, which is really an amazing achievement. Hollywood is truly a mysterious place!
MIKE:
Have you actually seen the movie?
I saw it last night. It is not a hit piece. Very soft.
No wonder the Liberals are mad when you tell them the truth. Obama et al., are destroying this country through debt.
I think the headline is a little strange – I saw the movie and wouldn’t say it’s Anti-Obama. It’s a fact-based documentary about his childhood, parents, and what drives him and influences him. How can this be ‘anti-Obama’ at all when the creator is just giving facts and not his opinion? you act like we’re all right-wing and everything about Obama is no good… I went to learn about voting this year. Yes, it changed my mind about Obama and now I won’t vote for him now that I know where he wants to take us as a country. I just think it’s a little biased of Deadline to say it’s ‘anti-Obama’ because there’s not a drop of propaganda in the film at all.
I agree — the first 3/4 of the movie are more “biographical” and conjecture on what makes him tick. I wouldn’t call it anti-Obama, either, although at the end it definitaly leans right.
Its not anti Obama content. It is generate for anti obama sentiment. Isn’t it fair then to say its the tool of propagandists albeit more subtle than some of the overt things u c on tv?
this was not anti-obama…it was about learning what makes him tick…
This movie tells what makes obama tick! He may have been born in America but that piece of paper (birth certificate) does not make him an American..he was raised abroad…he is a man without a country and a self described ‘citizen of the world’…this is why destroying America comes so easy to him. He thinks America got it’s wealth by stealing it from other countries…in other words, ‘we didn’t build America’…sound familiar?
He is waging a war for men’s minds….liberty or tyranny? you choose..on Nov 6th…
Anyone else give up on reading these comments after the first page? I’ll be so happy to come back next week when (presumably and hopefully) all the political ranters will have gone back to where they came from and we can discuss movies here again…
Yes, I also got tired of reading the political comments, especially since they all seem to be holding to the same rhetoric (I wonder if this movie is about “What makes Obama tick”).
I actually saw Premium Rush, on Friday, and that movie was a lot of fun. It was nice to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Michael Shannon act opposite one another.
hahahah thank you! after reading 3 out of 4 comments (in a row!!) stating that the movie is about “what makes obama tick”… it was an interesting turn of phrase to be used so repeatedly… sure you’re not brainwashed at all…! political documentaries are nothing if not unbiased, non-partisan portrayals of absolute truth completely uninfluenced by the opinions and agendas of who are making them… sigh.
Riiight-talking about mind numbing movies is oh so much more important than discussing the direction the country is going in.
On an entertainment business site? Yes.
I think after truly awful, unfunny movies like “Let’s Go to Prison” and “When in Rome” people don’t see Dax Shepard as any sort of authority on comedy. It’s a “fool me once…” situation with audiences that builds zero equity no matter who else is dragged into the cast.
I will definitely go to the movie but what I’d love to see is this movie be a requirement for voting and on all TV stations. I’d pay to see that happen!
A friend dragged me kicking and screaming to see the Obama movie–I was convinced it would be right-wing propoganda. It’s actually a well-made and persuasive argument that the guy I voted for in ’08 doesn’t deserve my support this time around. I’d be interested in what other Obama voters from ’08 think–not people who just want to sling talking points from the right or left, but people who have seen this movie and considered the case it makes.
Going tonight with lot’s of friends. We have had tickets since Monday. Tonights showings are all sold out in Oklahoma City.
Amazing.
What do I think? If Obama is re-elected, we are bankrupt. Obama et al., have purposely bankrupted us. But for what ends? In time of desperation, what are we going/willing to do? Who will bail us out? What price will we pay?
It doesn’t end well.
However, if Romney is elected, the economy will explode to the upside.
wishful thinking buddy
At least he’s thinking
Yeah, because there’s no chance it’s indicative of someone’s intelligence when they can’t form a coherent sentence.
it is unrealistic to think that it is not propaganda. Romney won’t do any better for anyone in tha middle class.
Romney earned is dam money…so sick of hearing about his wealth…don’t hear any Dems bitching about Multi Millionaire Barry Obama….didnt hear any Demoncrats complaining about John Kerry’s wealth (which was NOT earned) FYI – Demoncrat John Kerry is the richest member of congress and all inherited didn’t earn a dime of it.
Where are the people bitching about Will Smith or Oprah or P diddy not giving back and all worth more than twice what Romney is worth?
Romney created jobs and was paid for it, end of story. Obama got rich by signing a couple of multi million dollar book deals…hasn’t created any jobs, because he does NOT know how.
FYI – Biden makes Ryan look smarter than Steven Hawking.
If you mean it has a point of view, which is not hidden or manipulative at all, yes: it is a documentary. If you truly intend the hideous meaning of “propaganda,” then, no.
BTW, are you planning to see the documentary? I urge you to do so. Why not judge for yourself?
I think I love you
You should check this movie out before making that comment. Please go see it. This county is in dire straights with Obama as POTUS. If you love your family, country and they way you live, go see it. This is NOT a Republican/Democratic thing at all. This is about Radicals that are Anti-American. Please WAKE UP!!!
Business is holding it’s breath until the election. If the idiots re-elect obama business all across this great nation will off shore jobs, cut hours, or just close shop. And I haven’t seen the movie. I just know this from my daily interaction with small, medeium and large companies nationwide.
If “2016″ doesn’t scare you, nothing will.
This country must vote against this man. He actually should be arrested for all the unconstitutional things that he has done. It’s shocking Boehner and McConell do nothing.
You betcha,,,
I guess money talks…even in the extremely liberal area I live in, where these kinds of movies are NEVER shown ( the closest movie house that showed it last weekend was 30 miles away)…suddenly there are several local theaters showing it!
I am on my way…seems like this may have been the kind of JOURNALISM that SHOULD have been done on Obama 4 years ago but wasn’t. I have read the book this movie is based on…extremely well written.
After reading the comments above, I just want to be clear. So 2016 is NOT right-wing propaganda — it just tells the truth about how Obama was raised as a foreigner who secretly wants to destroy America and if I love my family I must see this movie then vote for Mitt Romney?
You guys get that your talking points directly conflict with each other, right?
I am life long Republican and voted for Reagan both Bushs and McCain but after reading concerned troll comments like Thinkingitover. I am convinced that Obama will lead the country in the right direction and will be voting Democrat for the first time this November.
Cool story bro! I call BS on all of it.
That’s laughable! Really? You voted for Reagan and now you think Obama is it! Who is the troll?
If thats the case you aren’t really listening, and don’t really understand where the country is going. Of course, the alternative is you are really just a dem pretending to be a convert – much more likely.
Obama will lead us in the right direction? Starting when?
We’re supposed to believe that because of a comment by someone who went to the movie….that you’ve been convinced that Obama will lead the country in the right direction, and decided to vote Democrat for the first time ever? Wow. You’re not easily persuaded.
Really?
Here you go again: a lifelong Republican who promises to vote for Obama. It has long been clear to me that any comment that starts with the claim of being Republican etc. is suspect. Unless you have checked your brain at the door, I don’t believe you.
As for the movie 2016 I saw it a couple of days ago at matinee time. The theater was at least 3/4 full and the audience was clearly mesmerized and this in the SF Bay area, CA. I don’t see the movie as anti-Obama such as described in the article above. On the contrary it is quite kind to him as it shows how his opinions and his attitude toward the US seems to have been formed. The brief interview with the brother in Africa was touching as well as interesting. I also found the bit on the Hawaiians’ self-esteem enlightening. I do hope many more people will see the movie and remember the lessons it teaches albeit on a subtle basis.
You, the lifelong Republican, better look for another country to move to. The party is better off without you.
General civility? Such as is displayed in your post? Oh, my.
You’re an automated cliche machine, aren’t you?
It’s SARCASM, people!!! We’re doomed if this is the average intelligence out there.
you really need to go see this movie before you commit to your Nov. Vote
I learned quit a lot about the POTUS and his motivations. Are his dreams American dreams? You’ll have to answer that question after you becomes fully informed
Number three? I can’t believe anyone wants to spend their time in the movie theater seeing more politics. I’m already down with Romney without seeing any movies because of the economy. Its a pretty simple choice. The problem is, with this partisan congress/senate, I’m not sure any president can accomplish much. But as for movies, I’m waiting for an Avengers II. Don’t need politics at the theater.
Whooosh! Right over the head.
And I am a lifelong Democrat since voting for FDR, but will be voting Republican for the first time in my life this November. I simply cannot bring myself to vote a second time for someone who is appearantly committed to bringing about the bankruptcy of this great nation.
….right and I’m the Easter Bunny, nice try
That’s quite a 180. Odd.
That just might be the funniest, wittiest bit of sarcasm I’ve seen for a long time, and it flew right over most of these folks’ heads. Well done, NAD.
I’m just sayin’…
I dont need to see the movie to decide who I vote for but I am all for sarcasm. This is one rare movie I will support hollywood.
Oh sure! And pigs will be flying in formation to celebrate that day…
Mitch McConnell is an idiot – and you know it. Don’t send the country down the drain for the stupidity of “Republican leadership.” Boehner and McConnell must be sent packing, but if Obama is re-elected the U.S. will not survive. Live in the suburbs? He’s going to tax the hell out of you because you took your wealth out of the inner cities. He’s going to continue transferring wealth internationally. At the same time he put the oil moratorium in the Gulf, he gave 2 billion each to Mexico and Brazil to help them with their oil production. Then turns around and tells Brazil “We want to be your best customer.” He will bow to the U.N. in all matters – and soon you will find a litte blue-helmeted thug on your doorstep to take your guns. No, he cannot be re-elected.
Limiting Obama to one term has always been an obviously necessary step prior to any economic consideration. Aside from the housing mess that had been simmering for years, the economy fell in 2008 in part because businesses foresaw that Obama would probably win the presidency and they began to take steps to limit their monetary vulnerability before the election even took place. Sorry to have to spell it out for you, Nowademocrat. The more you write, the more you betray yourself. Your name should be Stillademocrat.
Me thinks you and others of yur ilk should vote for Romney in protest of Obama’s failed policies and leadership….you know, a protest vote.
Bull! No one will ever believe your claim.
I suggest you go see 2016. It is not an anti-Obama hit piece. It is a scholarly and truthful examination of Obama’s life influences which led him to his current anti-colonialist view of America.
Ha! You’re delusional. Look out for a November LANDSLIDE for Romney/Ryan. Those two people have actually HAD A JOB, understand business/economics and LOVE AMERICA.
“2016 The Movie” will OPEN #1 when it goes national this weekend.
I believe that he won because the liberal media turned him into a “rock star” and messiah. Now people are aware of his capabilities and will not be fooled again.
clearly you believe what you want.
ThinkingItOver I completely agree with your statements. I saw the movie with my brother. The movie is very good, and I would suggest that anyone that can see it go and see it.
I am a system administrator and I’ve been out of work now for 2 years and 8 months. My college loans have ballooned to more than $85,000 and not having a job to pay the loans off has totaled my credit rating. I am tired of getting my food from food pantries so you know how I will be voting this November. It is a no-brainer for me and my family. We need to change directions, and that is made very apparent in the movie.
Scrolling, scrolling . . . nice to see some people actually talking about having seen the movie and considered the points it made.
For all of Obama’s presidency, he has been an enigma who was (of course) not Republican in his thinking at all, but also not truly a Democrat, either. I think D’Souza says it best when he states that what’s very different about this president is a worldview that transcends the traditional/historical differences between the two major parties.
That’s because, no matter how vehemently the two sides disagree on HOW to accomplish their goals, both sides, at least in a general sense, have as their goal making America better, stronger, more stable. But Obama’s embrace of his mythical father’s aggrandized anti-colonialism leads to a goal that is something else altogether: the goal of knocking America down by a few notches. Or a lot of notches.
In fact, if one considers the actions Obama has consistently taken that are the diametric opposite of what helps an econonmic recovery, strengthens foreign relations, stablizes geopolitics, reinforces the U.S. military as a projection of force for good in the world, it becomes clear that there is more than Dem v. GOP politics-as-usual going on in this administration.
For example, Obama has consistently, and almost across-the-board, precluded drilling and other projects in the U.S. and her waters. Of course, the casual observer might think that he is in agreement with, or at the least pandering to, environmentalists who have concerns about the impact of drilling on the planet.
Yet Obama has sent billions in taxpayer money to other countries to support THEIR drilling operations, including drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.
What can one conclude except that it’s not drilling that Obama opposes, it’s US energy independence — as well as his desire to “level the playing field” on a GLOBAL basis.
My point is: go see the movie with an open mind, research its points on your own, reach your own informed conclusion.
P.S. As a film, the documentary is very well-done.
But Obama’s embrace of his mythical father’s aggrandized anti-colonialism leads to a goal that is something else altogether: the goal of knocking America down by a few notches.
All I can say is thanks for the laugh.
I’m not going to see this movie, but that doesn’t matter… Sandy you write… “That’s because, no matter how vehemently the two sides disagree on HOW to accomplish their goals, both sides, at least in a general sense, have as their goal making America better, stronger, more stable.”
I disagree with your statement… I think both sides have as their main goal making the other side lose or look foolish no matter what that does to America. And that’s why I hate politicians and political rhetoric no matter who’s talking.
Lots of people I know feel the same. From talking to neighbors, people at the grocery store, PTA meetings, etc. Whenever the discussion turns to politics (and it does more often than not these days) people always say the same thing, “I really thought he deserved a chance, I thought he would bring everyone together, but he has been awful in every way, made things worse, created more conflict and has hurt our families and our communities.”
Lots of my friends from around my neighborhood have had to move across town to smaller houses over the past 3 years. There is one lady in our development that is defiantly pro-Obama still, but everyone knows it’s because her husband is connected to Democrats and gets special contracts. She’s become increasingly nasty to the other neighbors as the new campaign started, and has lost a lot of friends. I don’t see her around at many neighborhood functions anymore.
This probably sounds pretty familiar to a lot of people out there.
Like you, I was an Obama voter in ’08 and doubt I will repeat that performance. Haven’t seen it yet, but the book covered much of what has me voting Republican this year. I am most concerned about the silence of the Dems on Obama’s second term agenda. If what he’s done so far is any indication, I fear he’s laid the groundwork for a serious decline in American power, presence, and quality of life.
MissMediaJunkie, you obviously haven’t seen Ronmey’s tax plan. OR you have no understanding of how Reagan restarted the economy after Carter tanked it. I actually voted for Carter because I was just out of college and stupidly believed my liberal professors. I soon saw what worked and what did not work. Romney has proven through his documented work history that we will turn things around. Obama was voted in on a promise and a handshake, with no media vetting, no prior records available, etc. We were stupid and we got shafted. Not again!
Spoken like someone who’s thoroughtly bought the Democrat talking points. AND spoken like someone who hasn’t seen the movie. Remember, if you’re an American, YOU will have to live in the aftermath of Obama’s transformed America also. What will that look like? Go to see the film and hear Obama in his own words.
To those of you who profess to be Republican/Conservatives, but will be voting for Obama: You have drank deeply of the Obama kool-aid, which contains large amounts of addictive factoids, not facts that your atrophied mind chooses to believe. Check out the Klein book, The Amateur. As with the 2016 movie,I suppose you will also be inclined to believe that none of the info in this book is true either. Take a breath-open thine eyes. Then trust your gut and instincts instead of the slick-subtle manuevering of the Obama and Romney machines. The truth about Obama will become self evident.
Right on!!!
If you did some research, you would see that Obama is the same as Bush and Romney will be the same as Obama. Elections are all a show to make you think your vote matters.
So don’t vote. That is what they want. The fewer paying attention, the better.
Mike, I SOOOOO want to not believe what you are saying. But deep down, I fear that you are on the money. Our economy is all funny money and as they keep printing and borrowing … it only a matter of time before the house of cards collapses (I will say BHO is worse than his predecessors … but that is not really a compliment to his predecessors … who were the worst until he came along). I believe Ron Paul had ideas … but this is a nation with the entitled class so entrenched, and the corporatists and war-mongers so entrenched (98% of the war mongers I speak with are NOT VFWs … the vets I know refer to them as “ChairBorne rangers” who feel patriotic in watching American Idol and saying “We support the troops” when it would be a cold day in hell before they put themselves or their loved ones in harms way). But anyone actually willing to take the problems on (as all of them claim to be) will not be elected by the entitled or the corporatists. Almost seems like we need to crash first, then see if the phoenix can rise from the ashes.
For too many years that has seemed to be so. Each candidate hired a PR firm first and that’s basically what America knew about the candidates. (Kudo’s to david plouffe’s firm for b o’s 2008 success) But then, as American’s have begun to wake up groups like the 9-12 project began to realize there’s a cliff up ahead and this stagecoach is flying at it at breakneck speed, and the TEA Party was formed. With the 2010 elections the established parties began to be a little leery of what’s going on with their game. Now we can make movies like “2016″, and people have to do their own research to figure out if they are true or not, But the P R firms are no longer hoodwinking the American people. Thank God we do still have the internet, (and both parties seem willing to regulate that.) but everyone go to see the movies, (all of them if you so choose) and then DO THE RESEARCH, Then vote, and may “God bless America Again!”
Jaime, GM is still $26B in the red and may need another bailout. Not to mention the 20,000 Delphi pensions Geithner and Obama stuffed. Ask Delphi retirees about the meaning ofb the word rescue here. As to Osama bin Laden, Obama vacillated like Carter THREE TIMES because of Valerie Jarrett whispering in his ear. It was Leon Panetta and HRC who forced the issue. Oh, and it was Seal Team Six that killed bin Laden, not Obama. And I’ll bet if it were GWB killing Al Qaeda operatives by the bushel with drones, you’d be screaming to the skies about assassination and denied due process. In short, GIMME A BREAK! And don’t forget to enjoy the movie
Comments On Deadline Hollywood are monitored. So don’t go off topic, don’t impersonate anyone, DON’T GET YOUR FACTS WRONG, and don’t bore me. Who’s paying for the failing auto bailouts? Who’s creating a bubble in the stock market? The Seals took out Bin Laden. Al Qaeda is still alive and well. We’re out of Iraq because of the SOFA agreement that was drawn by the Bush administration and we left as planned. Romney’s healthcare for one didn’t include RFID’s. You might want to check you facts before voting. Your kids and grandkids are depending on you to lead.
We saw the 2016 Obama’s America doc this evening and thought it was very well made. Since I had already read Barack Obama’s book “Dreams from my Father”, I could agree with the facts presented in this film. I would encourage everyone to see this movie in order to get a better idea of Barack Obama’s history and political philosophy. My personal opinion is that America can’t afford four more years of this President.
Good movie not too long entertaining.. The portion about the nuclear arsenal being downsized was approved under Clinton. Bush chose not too do anything which is sometimes common with successive administrations.
However $3.65 a gallon gas is unacceptable and Potus gets an F for his Americans can handle $5.00 gas comment. I vote with with my wallet period end of story. If he truly loved Americans he would want us too be the fuel energy powerhouse we should be.
Its getting tougher out there every day and if Turtles, birds trees etc.. are more important than Americans quality of life heaven help us. The Earth was made for man first animals second can’t help the fact that environmentalist are now largely ultra whealthy freaks that care more about their backyard view than someone being able too afford too fill up the tank too go too work if you can get a job too feed hungry kids…..
Part of some peoples “quality” of life are those birds, trees, and backyard views.
Exactly! What nonsense this poster types.
Good comments…
I also saw this movie, and I also thought it was well done and informative without being “preachy”.
“Good comments”? Is that a joke? This is a board about box office, not a platform for Obama-Romney Debate No. 476417253246273241.
I did catch a matinee showing before work, though. The theater was almost sold out, inhabited entirely by elderly folk. The crowd ate it up, obviously, but I was disappointed. The director wastes the first hour on a bizarre Freudian analysis of Obama’s relationship with his father, then sprints through everything of consequence, like the national debt. A pretty weak film.
I’m not surprised Hit and Run is crashing. I was the only person in the theater last night. It’s one of the most poorly-written films of the year, if not all-time.
God Bless you Dack, for trying to steer this crazy comments section back to a reasonable discussion about the business of film. Judging from the crazy echo chamber of election predictions though, I fear your efforts were in vain.
Dack: the second comment from the top says, “Elaborate, please! I think Kristen Bell is HOT! Politics is boring stooges arguing.”
You might have noticed that most of the comments on this board have to do with the destruction of the US by the Obama administration. Those of you basement dwellers who believe Hollywood is a: important or b: knows f-all about real life got us into this mess by voting for THE ONE in 2008. We’re all hoping that many of you will see the error of your ways and vote for Romney this year so the rest of us can go back to being the most productive people on the planet and you and the rest of the jello brains can go back to drooling over your simpleton Hollywood elite.
thanks for your posting David Axelrod.
Dack, the reason the theater was filled with older folk is simple: they’re retired. The kids and parents are busy at that hour for the most part. ….Unless you expected to see a bunch of welfare folk there?
I knew Obama was no good soon after he appeared on the scene. I saw 2016 The Movie and although I didn’t learn anything I already knew, it put everything together very nicely. I was struck by the similarity in backgrounds of D’Souza and Obama. Same age, same economic class, similar education, but with entirely opposite results. Too bad the one who loves his Country was born elsewhere and wasn’t eligible to be elected president instead of the one who was.
Saw the movie with five other couples in our group last night; varying from mid 40′s to early 70′s. I also noted that there were families present with children ranging from 7 years of age to teenagers, young couples and singles of various ages. A very large spread in age groups. Depends on the time of day you went.
That said, everyone of us in our group came to the same conclusion as you did, Jim. D’Souza did a good job of pulling the information together into a creadible project. A lot of the information, as you stated, was already known but pulled together in such away to make it an understandable presentation. I highly recommend that people go see this movie with an open mind and make your own choice. As for all of us in the group, we are going with Romney/Ryan. Conservative from my first election of Reagan!
I too voted for Obama in ’08, but have since changed my mind. The movie only convinced me i was wrong in’08 and right now!
First off, socialism never led to gas chamber deaths. That, my friend, was the Nazi regime. Nazis, by the way, are extreme on the far, far right.
With that said, the fact that you believe in FEMA camps, believe that Obama was specifically controlled to tank the economy (which started it’s decline well before the election – or did you forget that?) and consider yourself not a birther but spew the birther credo, you’re clinically insane and need to see a doctor. Like Obama or hate him, it doesn’t matter; your insane ranting shows clearly that you’re off the rails. I suggest Googling your local mental health facility, to help you with those delusions.
Man dude don’t you even do a bit of research? Nazism is short for national socalism which includes elements of facism, both of the left. You know they include those wonderful figures Hitler and Mussolini, along with other great guys like Mao-Tse Tung, Stalin, Che-Guevera and current dickheads like Castro and major asshole Chavez. Those are yours. Own up to it.
AJR- You may want to retake that Western Civ class.
NAZI is a nickname for National Socialist German Workers Party. The Nazi’s were the socialists.
Nazi Party: short form of Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei or National Socialist German Workers’ Party.
Nazis were socialists. Maybe it’s you who should learn how to use that newfangled googling machine.
The most complete description of the moral catastrophies of the various forms of 20th century socialism is Paul Johnson’s Modern Times
This movie is very fair, bringing up ample evidence for a solid case that Obama is purposely dialing back America’s position as the leading economic and military superpower. He makes a strong case that Obama promised to help the poor, but not the poor of America, instead, the poor of third world countries. D’Souza’s assertion that Obama is an anti-colonialist seems very well-founded after the mountain of evidence gleaned from talking to Obama’s mentors, friends of his father’s and relatives. It all fits together to explain convincingly why exactly the economy is in such poor shape, and why Obama, given four more years, will completely sink the US for good under a mountain of debt, far greater than he has created thus far.
Keep saying it, keep believing it then click your ruby slippers heels together, hold Toto real tight and say over and ove “There’s no place like home…”
The 2016 movie is all democrats and independents who are angry at Obama’s behavior, and his policies. There isn’t any right wing talking points.
Watch the trailers and interviews. This film was assembled by Pat Caddell, a Carter pollster and long time democrat. He has been warning about this group for years now to Obama. These are going to be known as the “Romney Democrats” who have been so angry and disillusioned by Obama’s behavior and policies, they’re going to vote Romney.
Funny thing, as soon as you hear them talking, you realize just how angry they are – just how disappointed and furious with what Obama has done.
Go see the movie, watch the interviews, before these people claim this is right wing talking points film. If you are saying that, you obviously don’t know what you’re talking about. These are democrats and independents from swing states. . . . .
The anger is palpable. The desperation, the disappointment, the contempt. . . . Obama is in a lot of trouble. . . .make no mistake about it. These people actually believed Obama would bring the nation together and work on fixing things. . . .
And Obama has done the opposite – listen to the trailers about Obama’s spending. . . .it’s unbelievable. . . .watch the interviews about what these people think of Obama sending our money to overseas companies. . . .
If you’re not willing to see the movie, it’s because you aren’t willing to face the facts about Obama and what he’s done out there.
Sounds like you are talking about the show that was displayed on Hannity on Friday night….
The 2016 movie was not made by Pat Caddell.
Producer – signs front of checks to government
Freeloader – signs back of checks from government
I learned a lot that I didn’t know about Obama in his early years. The way Dsouza put it together gave me a far better understanding of where Obama gets his idealogy. I hope everyone gets to see this movie, so they can vote with knowledge instead of liberal emotion. My take away is that he is far more dangerous that I even thought and will bankrupt the nation in order to achieve his goal of collectivism and “fairness” as he defines it.
Yes, that is what I am hearing so I too am going to go. From what the Producer said on Hugh Hewitt, it’s not prop at all, he stuck to the data and that is what is most troubling. Because while the Prod made his bones, he has a lot to lose in potential income because most of the structure in Los Angeles is not liberal at all but ANTI anything they disagree with. In short, it seems the right is much more free and open minded than the left, but I want to see it to be sure.
I appreciate your comments about the movie. I didn’t vote for him, but I did not know anything about his childhood. I thought the movie was very good in that it explored where he was raised, who raised him and what he was taught as a child. Having only seen his father one time, I found it hard to think that he could write a book about him. I certainly was not impressed with his mother. She took him away from home to live in Indonesia and then sent him back to her parents to let them finish raising him. His mentors were people who do not love the American dream so I am able to understand some of his thinking as it relates to taking from the rich to give to the poor. I certainly am hoping he is NOT re-elected.
I’m really glad to see what many of the Democrats and former Obama voters wrote. Gives me hope. I saw this movie on DAY ONE in Houston, where it opened. Packed house. D’Souza and Ted Cruz were there and spoke. It was dynamite.
Every liberal or Obama drone should be strapped down and forced to watch this documentary and then try and defend their king. We are in VERY SERIOUS danger if this guy is reelected. GO SEE IT.
Tell me more about the doc. What are the arguments made in it? Keep in mind, I’m a moderate conservative. I won’t be voting for Obama regardless because I have interests in the oil and gas industry and happen to live in the one state that’s actually prospering in this country. So, I really have no reason to vote for Obama. I have no reason to vote for Romney either. It’s just a lesser-of-two-evils situation at this point.
No offense, but had the media done it’s actual job of informing the public you would have known all of this BEFORE you voted for him in the last election. The information was out there but you really had to dig and dig to find it. I am glad I knew most of this already and Obama got one less Independant vote last time. I hope most people have learned to do their own research and not depend on the media for guidance!
Good for you. Even describing this as an anti-Obama movie is a bit biased. I saw it. It was well-done as you said; factual and made it’s point without vitriol or Obama hate. My feeling is, it doesn’t matter that Obama believes what he believes — just be honest about it and let the people decide. I’m glad there are folks like you who can think for themselves. We live in a day that is more important than ever. Good for you.
I didn’t vote for Obama in ’08, but I too got the impression that this documentary is fair to both sides. Will see the movie later this afternoon, but from the trailers I saw, I think I’ll have just a bit more sympathy for Obama from a personal standpoint. (Doesn’t mean I’m voting for him.) I’ll get back to you.
I am not an Obama supporter. I knew a lot of the things in the movie that were covered up by the media in ’08, but I was still puzzled by some of his policies, and wondered just where he wanted to take us. The movie made me say “OH” out loud a few times. I now understand where he is coming from, and his weird policies make sense based on his background and ideology. Whether you like what he has done or not, you should see this move to understand his goals.
Like you, I voted for the big O in 2008. Yes I saw the movie. Brilliant. And NO – will not be voting for him again.
I am looking forward to seeing this film, I already know if Obama gets elected again for a second term it things in this country are only going to get worse. Romney will be cleaning up a far bigger mess than Bush could have ever made thanks to the Clinton mistakes that Congress wouldn’t put a stop to… Obama has been putting that money printing press into over drive.. Russia is now part of the World Trade Organization we are going to have the U.S. Dollar’s value deflate and we are all in for a bumpy ride … devaluing the dollar even more and tearing down our Military nothing like ruining a nation from within. Obama’s next autobiography should be called HOW TO RUIN THE STRONGEST NATION IN THE WORLD IN LESS THAN 4 YEARS.
after wiping out ssecrurity what else you want to know about look it up theres plenty
Do some research young one
A “paper surplus” forecast in the out years was guaranteed never to come true. The Republican Congress, (John Kasich, not sure if Ryan had made it there yet or came soon after) pushed him into that for his re-election, plus the welfare reform which caused it and b o just gutted.
Clinton had ONE major reason for balancing the budget: “He wanted to be remembered for something good, instead of all his hijinks and could be lead down that road.” I’ve only seen the trailer for this movie so far, but it doesn’t sound like there’s any room for that to guide obama because he’s too ideological for that. He’s set out to give America a step down for whatever reason, (There are many theories floated, D’Sousa’s makes the most sense.) And it’s doubtful anything would stop him if he has another 4 years to work at it.
So apparently finding out who this guy really is and what his fathers dreams really were is “anti-Obama”.
Any time the truth is told about Obama it’s anti-Obama and dirty politics.
You forgot to include racism!
First off, it is NOT and Anti-Obama movie. The premise is exact, it is what influences the man, and where he wants to take our Country. Plain and simple. It is factual, not fantasy.
It’s a quite reasonable movie, very gentle and kindly. There’s no discussion of the Tony Rezko stuff, or whether Obama was born here, or anything about whether he financed his education posing as a foreign student, why he won’t provide his grades, etc.
Instead, the influences that formed his ideology are explored, from his mother and grandparents and the writings of his absent father to his mentors, friends, and teachers. Di’Souza makes the case that Obama is anti-colonialist in a way that assumes that if a country (or a person) is successful, that success is built on the backs of others, the trampled poor — in essence, stolen property. Hence, capitalism is to Obama the real enemy. Di’Souza concludes that Obama wants to cut the U.S. down to size — defang it, reduce its influence on the rest of the world for the world’s own good. Obama may be born here, but he is not of us or like us. And it’s plain from the movie that he does not like us.
Best post ever? To go from “It’s a quite reasonable movie, very gentle and kindly.” to “Obama may be born here, but he is not of us or like us. And it’s plain from the movie that he does not like us.”
No cognitive dissonance there, no sir!
Unfortunately, the cognitive dissonance is in the White House.
A movie review that points out subject matter the director chose not to include is . . . um, a normal movie review.
Actually the movie does say that Barack Hussein Obama, mmmmm, mmmmm, mmmmm, was born in Hawaii.
“Frontloading” — nice way of saying you have to pay people to go see it. ROTFLMAO…
No, “frontloaded” means that there were a lot of advance ticket sales. Common with, as the article pointed out, faith-based films. Goes to show that “fly-over country” folks, will go to see movies that just might appeal to their interests.
Yes, I saw it today. All the other movies on the marquee were trash. College educated at a Masters level and a career educator. Yes, I understand politics and history, and you sterotype.
Actually, when we went to 2016 the theater was about 2/3 full and it was a matinee. Given this is a relatively small town, I recognized a large number of the moviegoers, and they ranged in age from young to old. There were more “seasoned” citizens there because they have the freedom to attend in the afternoon, having worked (quite successfully) all their lives. To say they were the uneducated and undiscerning would be a gross error. To the contrary, many had highly successful careers in professions requiring several advanced degrees, not the typical liberal arts majors who know nothing about how to actually Make Money Honestly.
It is maddening to hear the abject ignorance from folks like you who would rather make broad statements about others simply because they happen to disagree with your narrow perspective. We all grew up in the Vietnam era and we too once looked at life through rose colored glasses, but we grew up, got a real education, and made a success of ourselves. We built our own businesses and the government did not help us.
Try reading something other than the MSM pablum and expand your horizons, child. You will be amazed how blind you really are.
No, NOT paid to view.
Building up demand and selling tickets until release time so that the first few weeks are filled with PAYING viewers.
This is like selling out a stadium seats for a football game, before TV is allowed to broadcast the game in the area surrounding the stadium. The theaters or stadiums are filled to capacity and the later markets venues remain fuller earlier.
This is smart marketing.
Frontloading is actually the term used to describe pre-sales. In this case, tickets were pre-sold for up to a week in advance, and those numbers are tabulated into the weekend box office sales numbers (even though some of the pre-sales won’t be viewing the movie this weekend).
heck ya !!! America is waking up !!!
There’s 1 major poll that need to be paid attention to. It’s only taken EVERY FOUR YEARS and decides how the electoral college votes! All the others can be manufactured by skewing. This one has all kinds of attempts to skew, a lot of movies attempt to do this. I’m really very impressed with how even handed it seems to be. It doesn’t sound like Di’Sousa tried so much to influence the vote as to let American’s understand the philosophy he grew up around.
Just saw it with 500 other folk here in Tucson, at the noon Friday showing. Great film. Puts President Obama in context!
500 people at a noon screening? Guess you are all out of work, huh? Do you blame Obama for that?
I was also one of the 500 at the Foothills AMC in Tucson today. That theatre was packed to capacity. Very well done, eye opening movie. Every voter should go see this movie before they vote. If you still want to vote for Obama, at least you will know what your vote truly means. God help us all.
Is the movie the truth or the director’s truth? Same way is Michael Moore movies the truth or Moore’s truth?
the truth
Again, these are bo’s words and footage. Just go see it and then comment on it.
You’ve heard of EDITING, right?
Ya, we’ve heard of editing. Like when Obama said “You didn’t build that” Oh wait. even in context he did say that.
“You’ve heard of EDITING, right?” You mean like ABC and NBC did to Zimmerman?
All you conservatives crack me up. I mean, really, really LOL.
Yep! I’ll be seeing it Sunday!
A bunch of us are going Saturday. Can’t wait to see some of the stuff that’s been hidden from us.
Very well done! It was informative and keep my interest throughput. It really explains Obsma’s puzzling actions as President On the way out after the movie was over, people began to chant, “Romney, Romney,” it was great.
There were chants for Romney in our theater too, after people applauded at the end.
We’re scheduled to see the Saturday 1:30 showing. On top of everything Obama’s U6 Unemployemrnt is over 15%
Funny Headline. Why is it an anti-obama movie, as opposed to a vetting movie? NBC runs a show about the mormons and it wasn’t dubbed anti-mormon. I’m waiting for the follow up segment on Jeremiah Wrights liberation theology and Obama’s church. Will it be dubbed anti-obama as well?
It was mid afternoon when I went and the place was packed. They added more show times. This is in deep south Texas, which is traditionally Democratic
i am just glad there is mainstream honesty being thrown out. i have been so upset with the ABC,CBS,NBC for being so nice to this guy. it is totally scary that our media will just get in bed with a leader so quickly because of political affilliation. its a given the media is left, but damn. the world has been snowed and the media is guilty.
Yup, this movie will embarrass the alphabet news shows.
ThinkingItOver’s post says it all.
This is just like every conservative wing-nut book which is pre-bought by partisan groups. A savvy reporter or editor would have hit that harder.
I am sorry but that is just not true.
Good review. It’s refreshing when those who choose to label an author as “conservative” will also label the “liberal” accordingly. And, by thew way, I’m pretty conservative myself.
Chavez, you nailed it! I also am going to see this movie, but if Obama writes another book I wouldn’t buy it, nor would I take it if someone was to give it to me.
We saw the movie this afternoon and it was full of facts. I dare you to find one untruth in it but maybe you are afraid of the truth.
How do you know they are facts? Because you saw the “fact” in a movie? Really? Do you know how absurd you sound?
the commenter asked if you can find any ‘untruths’ in the movie? you didn’t answer so I assume you don’t have any. Yet, you smear the commenter…you are ignorant and that’s a fact!
The fact is that President Obama’s voice is heard during the movie, reading directly from his own autobiography, “Dreams From My Father.”
America: Just go see the movie 2016 Obama before election day and be sure to VOTE – If Obama serves another 4 years you can expect to pay a ton more taxes and have very little in the way of military defense!
I guess you haven’t seen the GOP platform for the convention? They want to raise your taxes to pay for stupid wars.
BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!
i guess a movie a can sell you anything. rent ghostbusters… and tell us if you now believe in ghosts. Obama’s going to win. so wake up.
are u serious? Just try to understand that is not an artistic movie it’s documentary which means based on documents. Some people don’t know the difference. Too bad.
I saw this movie last week. Very well done and not your typical documentary. The film maker does a great job of explaining why Obama is acting the way he is.
I’d definitely encourage people to see it.
In fact it was a true documentary, not the kind that Michael Moore produces and calls documentary.
How do you know this, swissik? How do you know this is a “true documentary”?
Why do you keep questioning people’s common sense, Lisa? Of course we can’t know everything 100%. I’ve never been to Tibet, but can trust that it’s actually there from sources I trust., like a photo lol. There were many factual errors that were proven as errors in Moore’s films. Perhaps the same will happen with this one. That is Obama’s real Brother, though. And he was quite interesting and almost ‘conservative’ seeming. Also, much of the film has Obama speaking in his own voice, from his book “Dreams from my Father”. Yet you need to see it yourself, then decide if you’re condescending attitude towards others here is fair.
Lisa, let’s just say that if you believe Michael Moore produces documentaries, you don’t know what the word means. Look up the definition yourself.
D’Souza, the filmmaker, is making a documentary based on HIS BOOK. Is that objective? This “documentary” is more advertising to increase his book sales! And anyone how pays to see it is merely increasing D’Souza’s wealth.
NO DOCUMENTARY IS OBJECTIVE. And this speculative “non-fiction” clearly is influenced by the conservative filmmaker/author. This movie already panders to the Right. Moviegoers on this sight who say “just go see it” are redeemed by the Right-sided POV. This documentary is no better than a UFO documentary shown at a Roswell Crash Anniversary Celebration. If you already believe in UFOs, then the UFO documentary only reinforces your belief.
This documentary is merely a sales tool for the filmmaker’s book. It’s true. There is a sucker born every minute.
“Triumph of the Will” is also technically a documentary.
Yes, and much more similar to Michael Moore’s films. Pure propaganda
Have yet to see the film (not yet available here), but as a registered Dem having second thoughts about our current President, I will be seeing it.
Obama has been a big, big, disappointment. I had high hopes that he would work to unify a very divided nation. Instead, we seem to have been driven further apart by his words and methods.
While I do not blame the economy on him, I do not see any improvement from his actions, and know that we cannot continue on the course he has set.
Nuff sed.
I see the meds wore out at the end of your reply. The fact remains, Obama was handed a great deal of leeway to fix the problems of the economy. Instead, he focused on a massive vanity project meant to secure his legacy as the president who instituted socialized medicine, when he should have been focusing on job creation. Instead, we have $26 billion lost in the auto bailout, over a trillion in wasted stimululs, and an unemployment rate that will remain above 8% well beyond 2013. This gentleman had his shot. He has failed. It’s time for new blood, and if Romney is sitting in the same position in 2016 I’ll be voting him out as well.
It is a myth that President Obama had a filibuster proof majority in the senate. If he did, the Dream Act would have past. Instead of watching President Obama conspiracy theory movies, why don’t you learn about how bills are passed or aren’t passed in this country.
Lisa hasn’t seen the film, she’s just regurgitating Dem talking points. She ought to go see it (much of the film is based on Dreams From My Father), hear Obama speak throughout the film, and get a glimpse of an America thoroughly transformed into Obama’s vision for it. I take it that Lisa is an American, who will also have to live in Obama’s transformed America.
I didn’t see it as a hack Anti Obama movie. I saw it as informative, very well made and very hard to discredit. You could argue some small points. It’s about time someone Vets Obama. Two thumbs up.
Just started reading the book. In the first 3 chapters I know more about this guy than the entire country knew when they elected him. I have seen seen his vision in my own travels and unfortunately this country is full of folks who share that vision. Can’t wait to see the movie. I’m taking as many freinds and family with me and so should everyone else. I’ve been saying for years now if we don’t fight for this country we will lose it. PC be d*mmed, Racism be d*mmed. I’ve always known this president was a true Americn.
Saw the movie last night. Loved it. Thought it was fair and balanced, using excellent empiracal support, including the actual words of Obama. Obama has turned his back on Israel and historic American values. We now must turn our backs on him. If the overwhelming majority of blacks continue to support Obama because of his skin color, while he is destroying their jobs and forcing their dependence, then it is time to call them out as the true racists.
well… doesnt he have 90 something % of the black vote? What we be said if 90% of white people voted for Mitt?
He turned his back on his own brother for God’s sake. Di Souza recently gave the president’s brother money for a medical emergency because Di Souza was apparently the only guy he could turn to. Let me state that again: The director of this films was asked by the brother of the president of the United States for money for a medical emergency. Obama was apparently not his actual brothers keeper.
Teadiot will love this, a heavily fictionalized film to obviously put Obama in bad light. And it is being passed as factual. About as factual as the Texas Chainsaw gang.
“About as factual as the Texas Chainsaw gang.” Or global warming..
Are you saying Obama’s autobiography, his own words, which make up a major portion of the film’s foundation, are “heavily fictionalized”?
This film was by Souza who was born and raised in India in a
Caste system that didn’t allow it’s citizens to rise above the Caste that were born to. He moved to be free in this country and wanted to give back and save this country from the same fate as many in that part of the world. The movie is based on facts not heresay and inuendo. Everyone should go and see for themselves. But at least have some information to determine what kind of person we want in the Whitehouse. We should be educating ourselves so that we may make the best choice either way. This is an important election. We should not berate the other person who has a different point of view. Just educate yourselves and have an intelligent vote.
The DVD dreams from my real father answers why Obama is indifferent to his family. Shocking if true, the biggest political sham pulled on the voters and particular the democratic party in my life time of 55 years. You decide.
I will see the flick when and IF,, (our local movie houses are owned by far left Libs. ) it show up here.
But I don’t need to see a movie to learn about “O”. I am living in the disaster he’s created for the past 3 1/2 years.
Definitely will be seeing the 2016 movie today. So many people I know are struggling with money and employment problems that I hope that this movie explains some of the pres. actions. Not much hope left out there,BTW.
