Fox has made a premium script deal for a character-driven cop-drama from Chernin Entertainment and 20th Century Fox TV. Written by Chris Levinson (Touch), the untitled project centers on a major crimes detective who starts slowly losing his memory. Faced with the prospect of losing his career and family, the cop ends up putting his entire life under surveillance. What begins as an effort to restore missing pieces of his waking hours becomes a 24/7 window into a world where nothing is ever as it appears. WME-repped Levinson executive produces with Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope. The project stems from a two-script deal Levinson inked with Chernin Entertainment last year. She most recently served as a co-executive producer on the Chernin/20th TV drama series for Fox Touch. Her series credits also include Law & Order and Lone Star.

Good for Chris. She truly is one of the best there is and is a pleasure to work with.
Memento?
This idea makes me want to lose my memory.
Chris is one of the most talented writers and coolest people working in TV. It’s about time she had her own show.
Love when good things happen for great people! Classy lady and a terrific boss.
Unbelievably stupid idea. They keep trying these dark high concept dramas that no one wants to watch.
Spot in. Precisely the kind of development that happens early and never sees the lifght of day. And BTW, does the Chernin juggernaut sell to anyone other than Fox?
This violent a reaction feels a little premature. Dont you think? A great writer can make any concept, even one you personally find atrocious, incredibly watchable.
Not that one. Too complex. Tricked out. Unpleasant.
Well you should run a network, what with your preternatural ability to divine what shows will be succeed or fail based on one sentence loglines. You could revolutionize the industry.
Echoes of that series NBC cancelled last Spring… With the cop who didn’t know which reality he was living in.
…not really. Tons of supernatural or psychological cop pitches out there. Always have been. Feels closer to unforgettable in that images will likely be revisited.
Boring development season so far…
Where’s the kick in my gut?
What’s happening with Gotham at Abc?
This sounds like a cool idea.
Do they need to sell to anyone, but Fox? It’s hard to get anything bought. If Fox is willing so be it. Chernin was an exec there. Makes sense FOX would be a conduit for his company.
Agree with Finn… yet another dark high-concept… like “Touch”…(that wrote itself into a corner) And you’re right. no one is watching that. Another 1 season show that has nowhere to go? Again… like “Touch”…. maybe they should figure out how to save that show first. And this is SO much like that cancelled NBC cop show with the dual realities. And as for Chernin…when he left Fox he was given one of the MOST lucrative “golden ” deals ever…guaranteed number of shows on the air.The “Big Boy Network” most of which have limited talent and live off others talent.
Awake was an interesting concept that went downhill from the pilot. Took itself so seriously and the writer is crazy difficult guy. Levinson’s idea sounds more open, less boxed in to a singular concept.
Chernin has proven he has no juice.
Um…New Girl?
Someone please sell the life and times of Slayer to a network.
Why are American cop shows always about the youngest tough but smart loose cannon who still has a softer side but can also to talk to ghosts/see the future/are part computer and British cop dramas are just about well-rounded, interesting characters who solve crimes?
Because the British government partly funds the BBC and other British nets, as well as partly funds the shows broadcast thereon.
Because Brit shows can get away with making 3 90 minute movies and call it a “season.”
Because Brit shows aren’t dependent on people actually watching.
Because the most popular British TV show would barely show up in American ratings if aired in the US on a broadcast net.
Get off your high horse.
If this has any supernatural component it will tank. Do yourself a favor, Chris, and figure all of it out before shoveling more Losty-fluff. Even those guys didn’t pull it off.
what!?! am i the only one who realizes this is the plot of boss!?! they literally ripped off the main conceit of that show. pathetic.
