EXCLUSIVE: Fox has ordered 6 additional scripts from animated series Bob’s Burgers. The network renewed the comedy for a third season with a 13-episode order back in January, before the series’ second season premiere in March. The additional scripts will go towards a back order, bringing the total number of scripts for Season 3 to 19. Bob’s Burgers, which also has 13 leftover unaired episodes from Season 2 to run this fall, is currently in production on its Season 3 order, and the 6-script pickup will keep its writers working.
While not a breakout ratings performer, Bob’s Burgers has been a solid show and a favorite of Fox’s brass. Additionally, it just landed its first outstanding animated program Emmy nomination. Bob’s Burgers third season premieres on Sept. 30, marking the first time the comedy has launched in the fall. Upcoming guest voices include Zach Galifianakis as Chet, a former department store window dresser pining for his estranged wife, who happens to be a mannequin; and Nick Offerman and real-life wife Megan Mullally as a pair of married hippie farmers who hire the Belcher kids as “weed pickers.” Also, Kevin Kline returns as Bob’s eccentric landlord “Mr. Fischoeder,” who purchases an unpredictable mechanical shark as an attraction for the pier; and Jeffrey Tambor voices “Captain Flarty,” a crazed cruise ship captain who shanghais Bob and his family. Other returning guest voices include Aziz Ansari, Bill Hader and Sarah and Laura Silverman.
Besides Bob’s Burgers, another Fox animated comedy that has been awaiting word is The Cleveland Show. Fox in May did not pick up the option on a fifth-season renewal for the animated series, opting to postpone the decision to see how its schedule shakes out in the fall.

Well I deserve a pop culture spanking, I had no idea Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally are married, it’s like the real life Ron and Tammy! Love Bobs Burgers!!!
Fox finally realized that if they cancel this failure, they’ll just end up paying a lot more money to develop another failure to take its place, like they have many many many times before. It’s cheaper to just keep this show.
It’s obviously not a failure if they’re making more of them.
He’s referring to The Cleveland Show.
Love this show, well deserved. Family Guy and the Simpsons won’t be around forever time to build new stars.
They will be around for a long time to come, Matt.
Completely ignored this show during S1 and S2, but just stumbled upon it on Hulu Plus and Netflix, and can not get enough of it. Completely insane at times, and hilariously underrated. Hope more people take a chance on it on these services before S3 begins. I can not wait!
you think its funny how underrated the show is?
that’s what he wrote isn’t it?
Bob’s burgers is a great,offbeat program.Plus, Eugene Mirman is a god.
This show is amazingly funny. Kudos on Fox for doing something right for a change.
Megan has already been on the show as Bob’s wife’s sister who had problem dealing with criticism and a penchant for painting animals and their buttholes.
Congrats to Bob’s Burgers and H. Jon Benjamin who seems to voice every other cartoon I love these days. (Archer, Venture Bros., Home Movies, and Bob’s Burgers). BB is definitely the best show on the animation domination night although I still love Family Guy, American Dad, and The Simpsons. Never got into The Cleveland Show.
