• Once again, we are given not a trailer for a film, but a quick synopsis of the plot in 2 and half minutes. Every plot twist and narrative surprise is given away, leaving nothing for the audience to discover for itself. What’s the point in seeing the film after you know everything ahead of time.?!?

  • It’s a book adaptation. A book that practically everyone knows at least the basic plot points. Not much that can really be spoiled.

  • True – I had forgotten the major plot points. It was required reading in the 9th grade, and I had seen various film versions in the 70s/80s. This trailer does, indeed, reveal too much.
