CBS Films has released a trailer for Seven Psychopaths, the comedy written and directed by Martin McDonagh. He wrote what I consider to be one of the tightly scripted films in recent years on In Bruges, and he was Oscar-nominated for his writing work on that film. Here’s he’s got Colin Farrell back as a struggling screenwriter who inadvertently becomes entangled in the Los Angeles criminal underworld after his oddball friends (Christopher Walken and Sam Rockwell) kidnap a gangster’s (Woody Harrelson) beloved Shih Tzu. Abbie Cornish, Tom Waits, Olga Kurylenko and Zeljko Ivanek also star. The pic premieres at Toronto in the Midnight Madness section on September 7.

Rockwell looks hilarious. Glad to see McDonough back on the scene
Really looking forward to this, Django, Killing Them Softly and Silver Linings — I can’t wait! Loved In Bruges.
Finally another McDonagh Film. IN BRUGES is on my top 10 best movies of all time. Followed closely by his brother John Martin McDonagh’s film THE GUARD. Two briliant movies by 2 brilliant brothers.
This is a really funny trailer, especially Rockwell and Walken but I’m even more excited to see the redband.
I’ll check it out on Netflix.
Hilarious! Ever since Six Shooter I have loved McDonagh and his twisted sense of humor. When I read this script I was VERY excited – Can’t wait to see this film!
McDonagh is a hugely talented writer and I can’t wait to see this. Is it possible that In Bruges was Colin Farrell’s best work? Regardless, it will be great to see Farrell working with what is bound to be another brilliant script.
