EXCLUSIVE: Intrepid Pictures has tapped Grzegorz Jonkajtys to helm Fourth Horseman, a contemporary action thriller. The logline: a young medical intern who is haunted by nightmarish clairvoyant visions of the future, is hunted by three of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. He discovers his destiny is to prevent the rise of the Fourth Horseman–Death–and to avert the end of the world.
Script was written by Byron Willinger & Phil DeBlasi, and the latest draft was written by Ryan Engel. Intrepid’s Trevor Macy and Marc D. Evans are producing and Mike Karz is executive producer.
Jonkajtys helmed the short thriller films The 3rd Letter and The Ark. He has also done strong visual effects work on such films as Battleship, Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, Rango, Iron Man 2, Star Trek, Sin City and Pan’s Labyrinth. He’s repped by Verve and Gotham Group.
Intrepid is in pre-production on Oculus, the supernatural thriller that starts production in October with Mike Flanagan directing, and they’ve completed the teen thriller Crush with Crystal Reed and Lucas Till. Summit releases The Cold Light Of Day with Henry Cavill, Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver September 7. Intrepid’s most recent release was the John Cusack-starrer The Raven and The Strangers.
Here is Jonkajtys’ short film Ark, which was nominated for the Golden Palm at Cannes:

Let me guess: The young medical intern actually turns out to be the fourth horseman so it turns out that, throughout the film, he’s actually working to prevent his own rise?
I was JUST about to post that! So sick of these kind of twists, hasn’t worked since Fight Club.
Some very talented people working on this. Looking forward to seeing their take on it. Wonder if the religious right will protest Hollywood taking another crack at Revelation, and Biblical texts in general.
