The UK’s ITV has said it wants to increase its production footprint and has recently kicked the tires of Dick Clark Productions in the process. Back at home, it’s acquiring Graham Norton and Graham Stuart’s successful comedy and entertainment producer So Television. ITV production subsidiary, ITV Studios, will pay a maximum £17M in cash for the company – a £10M cash upfront payment followed by a second transfer based on So’s profit performance to 31 July 2016. So Television is responsible for comedy talker The Graham Norton Show which runs on BBC One and was recently renewed through 2013. It also produces new comedy show The Sarah Millican Television Programme which runs on BBC Two and is prepping a second season. This is ITV’s second production company acquisition in just over a month. In July it took over Norwegian outfit Mediacircus.
