• The truth is that if Jay really cared he would have taken a MUCH bigger pay cut… 25 million down to 20 million? Wow! How will he survive? How must the people who lost their jobs feel knowing that Jay has publicly said he doesn’t need his salary from The Tonight Show because he lives very comfortably off his fees for touring and public appearances. But he still couldn’t take a big enough cut of that salary to save their jobs… and how must the remaining people feel, who will surely have to work harder for the same pay to make up for the cuts in manpower. I don’t think Jay will be working any harder. I’m not saying he’s not entitled to a large salary, he is the star of the show, but let’s not pretend he is some selfless saint. I would be they told him they had to cut his salary and they just agreed to spin it so it sounds like they cut it to save jobs that weren’t cut.

  I’m sure everyone will sleep better knowing Jay is still taking home a good $20 million, he and Mavis will still be able to make it through this unsure economic climate.
