Studio executive-turned-producer Jeff Kleeman has been tapped to run A Very Good Production, Ellen DeGeneres’ Warner Bros. TV Group-based production company. Kleeman succeeds Lauren Corrao who left in June after two years on the job. Kleeman will shepherd development for the company, which has a multi-faceted deal with Warner Bros TV Group spanning several divisions. “I’m thrilled that Jeff Kleeman is joining my company,” DeGeneres said. “He’s known for being incredibly creative, smart and accomplished. And I look forward to meeting him one day.”
Kleeman’s resume includes executive stints at Paramount Pictures, MGM/UA and Francis Ford Coppola’s American Zoetrope. As a producer, his credits include the NBC comedy Friends With Benefits, which he executive produced. He also co-created and executive produced the 2006 WB comedy series Misconceptions. “One of my favorite themes in Ellen’s work is the world is even bigger and better than you know,” Kleeman said. “Getting the opportunity to work with Ellen and Warner Bros. is thrilling proof for me it’s true.” A Good Production received its first pilot order last year for comedy The Smart One at ABC. This development cycle, it has already sold a comedy script to Fox based on Web series Couple Time.
