Katie Couric’s upcoming syndicated daytime talk show announced the list of its first guests, which is dominated by celebrities. On the premiere episode of Katie on Sept. 10, Jessica Simpson will make her first post-baby TV appearance joined by Sheryl Crow, who has written and performed the show’s theme song. Booked for Sept. 11 is Aimee Copeland, who lost parts of all her limbs to a flesh-eating bacteria. Also set as guests in the fall are Barbra Streisand, Jennifer Lopez, Heidi Klum, Susan Sarandon, Chelsea Handler, Sofia Vergara, 50 Shades Of Grey author E L James, Demi Lovato and Wendy Williams as well as Sharon and Lexie Love, whose daughter and sister, Yeardley, was murdered two years ago by her ex-boyfriend at the University of Virginia, research professor and motivational speaker Brené Brown and Amanda Knox’s ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito.

She might as well have Oprah on the first show and do a symbolic passing of the torch from one ABC afternoon star to what hopes to be another
I always loved you on the Today Show, and the news. Good Luck with your new show. Please read Manhood to boyhood written by D.L. Brown at the Amazon Kindle Store:eBooks 5 stars
and again good luck
So basically, Katie is booking female guests almost exclusively?
Oh yea, just what we need. Another clap trap yap show. What happened to the days of good tv when you had the soaps all day and some good game shows. Not cooking, dieting, or a bunch of yapping talking about the same old stuff thats been redone 2000 times already on every other yap show. Get rid of the so called reality tv and the stupid talk shows. Put some good entertainment back on with good scripted shows. Tired of everything being canceled to make room for this crap. Pretty soon won’t be worth owning a tv or paying for the channels. Then where will the crap shows be with no one watching them. No more please, am sick of it.
Kudo’s.You hit the nail right on the head. Soaps and game shows. I do have to say I don’t mind a good cooking show here and there though.
I agree wholeheartedly with you!!
I think she’s great. I think it sounds great. Oprah she’s not and will never be and that’s a compliment.
I’m bored already. …Jessica Simpson is so nineties. Chelsea Handler is a talentless bore; She’s only having Williams on because Williams had her on her show last year; Couric’s demo hasn’t a clue as to who Demi Lovato is; and Jennifer Lopez doesn’t have a career. So why would anyone care?
i wonder if abc will stick it out like cbs did with her. Otherwise she will go the way of the Revoloution within a year.
Why CAN”T the network get some new talent for daytime TV!!!! We are tired of the old snich tring to be retool as some new…..
Oh geez-will NOT be watching
What will this make 413th talk show.how many time do we need to see someone going from show to show to promote there moviebook, diet etc etc etc.same thing all day long. And they wonde why people are going to cable.Bring back the soaps and get rid of the theif Mario Batili.Known fact he skimmed his waiters out og 5.25 million dollaes.Instead of jail he got a Tv show,Hell ABC hire bernie Madoff.Didn’t the food network get rid of him? They got conceited love myself Katie who blamed CBS because noone would watch her and the Theif Mario.said the soaps where to expensive and have already put out 80 million on Katie to get people to watch.CBS knew when to let her go.Now fools can watch Cook with a Theif and Love myself Katie.
I am sick of talk shows that glorify celebs! Do not want to hear about them and their petty lives. Enough!!!!
I don’t think it makes any difference how many talk shows are on TV, as long as the show is done well and I think Katie has just the personality to be very good on her show. She has all the credentials, that is for sure. I know she will explore all kinds of topics and have both serious and funny shows, She knows how to interview and the show has the capacity to go to breaking news. I think it is going to be a winner for sure. Good luck Katie. Glad you are back on TV.
I forgot one last thing Katie. Don’t listen to all the hype about Oprah. You aren’t Oprah – don’t even try to be Oprah. We are happy if you will just be yourself. That will be a real joy!
I was disapointed. I was lead to believe that Katie would be talking to the oommon folks that have overcome adversity. Not another “see how much weight I’vew lost” “Watch my latest movie.”
We are looking for inspiration not physco babble
We want Katies guest’s to be Heros..not hedonists
