LIVE! With Kelly And???….The new co-host will finally be revealed on Sept. 4 when Kelly Ripa will be joined by her new partner. Joining the duo as guests that day will be Claire Danes and 2012 American Idol winner Phillip Phillips. Since longtime host Regis Philbin left the show last November, 59 guest co-hosts have taken a seat next to Ripa, and Disney-ABC Domestic Television says one of them has been tapped for the new gig. Ripa will host the show solo for the first time the day before the big announcement. Philbin, who created the show, retired at age 80 after more than 28 years at the helm. Ripa joined the show in 2001.

I think it will be Mark Counsuelos, who happens to be Ms. Ripa’s husband.
It will become a 21st century version of “Tex and Jinx”, the talk show of early television that was hosted by husband-and-wife personalities Tex McCreary and Jinx Falkenberg.
The problem with that is then they risk the entire future of the show because odds are they both would negotiate together and leave together vs what probably is in the back of peoples minds that the show continue to succeed and the new male host would be able to carry the show when Kelly leaves and they then do a female cohost search again. Personally I havent been impressed with the major candidates Ive seen , esp Nick Lachey and Michael Strahan (although ABC probably wants the diversity)…They all have seemed boring. It should have probably been Anderson – his show is even now going live with a co-host – mimicing LIVE….The other candidate should be Andy Cohen – like AC, hes friends with Kelly & Mark so they have natural chemistry. Andy has moved from Bravo exec to talk show host ; I have no idea how much money he makes and whether ABC could up that. Honestly this job is a gig made in heaven. You get al ot of money and youre out the door probably by 11 except for the few times when you need to do daytime pre-taped shoots. Its a great easy schedule and the poor producers work 16 hour days to make the hosts look good. I wish theyd pick someone that would surprise us all…but its hard to believe this isnt going to leak before the 4th. With Hoda & KLG doing well – they could even go with 2 females (I know carrie ann wanted it)

Keep dreaming – that would have been a great choice but he signed with WB on his own show which the company is trying to save in year 2. Th e irony is the show is being changed to what seems a clone of LIVE…The shows has been renamed ANDERSON LIVE and will feature a different cohost daily (or weekly?)
Since Regis left, the show is unwatchable . Kelly is insufferable, and with Regis gone, it’s impossible to hide the fact that she has absolutely no charisma that stands by itself. Kathy Lee’s show is even more enjoyable.
ABC should have given Reg what he wanted, and then let him only work three days a week. That would’ve given them some time to actually groom a replacement as a new first banana. Ripa is not a first banana.
I wish news reports would quit stating Regis “retired” like it was his choice. Yes, he did retire (after he didn’t get certain concessions he sought) but retiring altogether was by no means his first choice.
If it’s Strahan, big mistake…nothing much there…they should be closing with Nick Lachey, who is light years better than him and any others so far. Nick has all around talent and great chemistry with Kelly.
Its either Mark or Nick. They think Anderson is too old for the job and Seth already said it isn’t him.
Stopped watching as soon as Kelly Ripa replaced Kathy Lee, this woman Ripa isn’t worth watching.
Regis needs to do this show from his home until the day he dies.
It’s going to be her husband Mark Consuelos. The producers probably ran a list of names through Regis and since he is a Notre Dame grad and is well-liked and she gets along with him, besides the obvious, he’ll be the next co-host of the show. Mark my words.

Sorry I can’t stand Anderson’s catty side. When he hosts he’s just a Andy Cohen wannabe, though not as friggin’ loud. My hope is for Strahan. Problem is he has 10 kids and is located somewhere else. That’s a huge change. Anyhow I’m so glad this search is over. Kelly’s personality changes with every host and I find it becoming more annoying. I agree with others that she was her best with Regis. He kept her classy and less obnoxious.
Well, my top two picks were david letterman and dana carvey. Robin williams would also have been great. But, for obvious reasons, and unfortunate reasons, “That ain’t gonna happen.” So my next thought is — This Anderson Cooper thing must be a sham. Everyone is in on it — but us!! It’s Anderson Cooper — I know it is… It has to someone of that caliber. looking forward to whoever.
