New York, August 6, 2012 – The Wagner/Cuban Company’s Magnet Releasing announced today an all rights distribution deal for Citizens United Productions’ documentary OCCUPY UNMASKED, one of the last projects featuring the late conservative icon Andrew Breitbart. OCCUPY UNMASKED was written and directed by award-winning director Stephen K. Bannon and produced by David N. Bossie. Magnet is giving the film a limited theatrical release day and date with VOD in late September.
“This film is controversial, and that’s exactly the reason we want to ensure it can find its audience prior to the November elections,” said Mark Cuban, co-owner of Magnet. “I look forward to our partnership with Citizens United Productions and to getting this film out to the masses.”
OCCUPY UNMASKED takes viewers into the Occupy Wall Street camps around the country in New York, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Portland, Denver and Oakland for an up-close look at what’s happened there and who’s at the heart of the movement, documenting criminal activity and raw brutality in the camps – much of which has not been reported by the mainstream media. In addition to Andrew Breitbart, the film features journalists Brandon Darby, David Horowitz, Pam Keys, Anita MonCrief, Mandy Nagy, and Lee Stranahan. “I am proud to announce that Citizens United Productions is teaming up with Mark Cuban and Magnet to distribute OCCUPY UNMASKED, and elevate the film the Left does not want the American people to see,” said Producer David N. Bossie. “This distribution deal will keep the groundbreaking work of the late conservative icon Andrew Breitbart alive for years to come.”
“As a dear friend of Andrew’s, I could not be more thrilled that this deal got completed and all Americans will have an opportunity to see one of Andrew Breitbart’s final pieces of work,” said writer/director Stephen K. Bannon. “This film is important because it sheds new light on the myth of the Occupy Wall Street movement. I know audiences across the country will be startled by what we uncovered in this explosive documentary.”

This is really disappointing. I love a lot of the films Magnet has been involved with, but this is a travesty. And in a pretty direct way undermines the argument of the film. Gross!
Have you seen the film? How do you know it is a travesty?
Because Brietbart specializes in lies.
I stopped reading at the name of that anti-American treasonous SOB, Andrew Breirbart. Wanted him to live long enough to see Obama get reelected so this POS could see that he failed to bring down America.
Wow. Had no idea Magnet was interested in distributing crap like this but just read Cuban’s Wikipedia entry so I guess it should be no surprise. Disappointing.
Yeah, this is disgusting, to say the least. Removing myself from Magnolia/Magnet mailing lists now.
People like Cuban have a lot to lose if the Occupy movement continues to gain momentum. Still, this should make for an interesting film. See if you can spot the undercover operatives that were sent in to discredit the protestors. Shouldn’t be too hard, they’re usually the ones shouting the loudest in order to provoke cops to move in, a tactic taught at most law enforcement academies. We’ll make a game of it, like the “Spot the Fed” game the hackers play at Defcon.
Thank God for this. While the lazy MSM cheerleaded the Occupy movement and shamefully ignored the underlying crimminal activity that permiated the events. Andrew rolled up his sleave and did the hard work to expose the truth, (especially in Oakland) of what it was really all about. Prepare to be shocked.
Can’t wait to see this. This is a triumph. Breitbart was a patriot.
OH NO. you mean another point of view and you are all shitting your pants. as always liberal hollywood is a one party town, and the thought police are running ruff-shod.
Andrew Breitbart was an inveterate liar who surrounded himself with libelists, slanderers and other liars and whose patently untruthful website continues to be run by liars perpetuating these lies. Why would any sane person, even the relatively few sane conservatives and libertarians, associate themselves with this z-grade Leni Riefenstahl?
You deride Andrew Breibart yet give a pass to scum like Barack Obama and his Minister of Propaganda David Axelrod? And don’t forget Michael Moore who has made a career of lies, misrepresentation and fraud. His films Roger and Me, Fahrenheit 911 and Sicko were fantasies.
Obama’s a liar. You’re an idiot.
Go get ‘em, Andrew! Even in death, you kick democRat ass.
Looking forward to seeing it!
You already have. It’s called the same old, B.S. ™
Oh, please. This will be in the 10 cent bin when it premiers.
I’am almost sure will never see it next to your complete collection of south park.
Skip this right-wing trash, instead search online and catch Breitbart’s screaming rant to the Occupy DCers outside a hotel. “Behave yourself, behave yourself, you filthy freaks and animals,” Breitbart shrieks over and over. Then a couple of weeks later he drops dead. They say it’s not nice to speak ill of the dead, but watch his disgusting behavior and judge for yourself.
Same as any Michael Moore movie, the only people who will ever see it are the ones who already agree with it.
This film is obvious right-wing trash. It’s meant to pander to the low IQs of conservatives/Republicans/teabagger morons, and with regards to that small segment, it will succeed. Everyone else will see it for the cheap propaganda that it is.
That may be true, but the “low IQ’s” watching the film would still stand head and shoulders above your IQ score.
Now go back to your mommies basement and work hard on another clever little line.
Loser.
I find it interesting that whenever a film/book/art is released that goes against the mainstream liberal litmus, it will be trashed and defiled. There are probably 100 films with an arguably liberal bent for every conservative film. I do not usually hear or see the same level of trashing from conservatives. Why is that? My take is that conservatives are actually more open to listening and engaging in a true debate than are the liberals. I have not seen the film, but I intend to. Only then can I formulate an intelligent opinion. All those who have not seen the film and are trashing it are the ignorant ones. And should be ignored.
Thank You for bringing this to us Andrew Breitbart!! Be sure to see the movie “2016″. It was VERY good! Thanks Mr Cuban!
RIP ANDREW!
I usually disagree with Michael Moore, but I see his movies. They make me think, research and even in some cases adjust my opinions. Often times his movies are full o’crap — and some parts dead right.
Thing is I know going in it’s a “liberal” film. I’m not AFRAID to see an opposing viewpoint.
I find “liberals” shocking “un-liberal” when it comes to opposing media. Burn it! Trash it! Vile Crap!!!
How about SEE IT! Then critique it!
You don’t see conservatives trying to shut down liberal protests — it’s the other way around. Liberals using free speech to shut down…free speech. Ask Ann Coulter and David Horowitz about their speeches and debates on college campuses.
Challenge yourself. Watch 3 conservative documentaries this next week. Maybe your perspective will be different…or maybe even stronger than before.
