What part of the family did these genes come from?! Majandra Delfino (ABC Family’s State of Georgia) has been cast to play Dwight Schrute’s (Rainn Wilson) sister on The Office spinoff project, which will be introduced in an episode of the veteran NBC comedy later later this season. Titled The Farm, the spinoff has Dwight living at the Schrute family beet farm and bed & breakfast. Delfino will play female lead Fannie Schrute, Dwight’s younger sister who once fled the Schrute farm life for Boston but is back, divorced and with a child. The Farm was conceived by Wilson and former Office executive producer/showrunner Paul Lieberstein. Roswell alumna Delfino is with APA and attorney Matt Johnson.

I love her but this show really doesn’t sound good at all. I wish State of Georgia would have been given another season. It wasn’t perfect by any means but I think they should have been given a chance to fix what went wrong.
Say what you will, but this doesn’t sound any worse then the rest of the sitcoms I see.
It sounds better than The Neighbors, Animal Practice and The Family Tools.

All you office drones are just jealous I get to finally escape my lousy office and work on a beet farm with fresh air and tasty beets. We also have a bed and breakfast inn so when you want to escape the city take a ride out to the country. Our rates are a bargain our prices can’t be beet. Get it? Beet.

OMG I am so happy for Delfino! I loved her in Roswell, then she just fell off the face of the Earth. I didn’t realize how much I missed her until I saw this article. I can’t believe it. She’s back!!! This is for real my most anticipated show now! She’s back!!
Yeah all spin-offs suck. Like The Andy Griffith Show or the Colbert Report, or The Simpsons, or The Jeffersons or Laverne and Shirley. Lighten up people. Or maybe (and I know this is crazy), wait till you see it to have an opinion
Ballerina, I agree with your sentiment about the generalization, but The Simpsons can’t be regarded as a spin-off. Going from sketches on a comedy show, to a regular show of its own isn’t a spin-off.
Not sure why they would make a spin off based on the most annoying character on the show! It was never really a great show in the first place. Either is 30 rock. Which is just horrible. Parks and Rec is great.
Nothing wrong with spinoffs, but taking the worst character of the show and spinning him off with a crappy premise doesn’t exactly inspire confidence in a sitcom.
Even good characters can make crappy spinoffs, less we forget the likes of Joey.
I love a good spinoff, I however don’t even slightly like Dewight from the office.
Spinoffs are spinoffs. It’d be nice to see this one succeed, but it’s going to be a long climb for it to do so.
Well at least now there’s something to look at while watching this tRainn wreck.
She has beauty, talent and if f-ing HILARIOUS. It’s about time someone recognized it. This woman deserves her own show. But, barring that, this will do.
I love Wilson he’s so funny. I can’t wait for this show! Joey was corny not funny, there’s no comparing the two.
