Morris Chestnut has been set for the male lead of Sony’s The Hive, opposite Halle Berry. He plays her love interest, a cop, in the Brad Anderson-directed thriller that also stars Abigail Breslin. At the same time, he has landed a strong role in Kick-Ass 2, essentially playing the guardian for the young butt kicker played by Chloe Moretz. The Hive focuses on a 911 call center: a hub of frenzied activity where desperate phone calls come in. When a call comes in from Hyden (Breslin) a kidnapped teen who is stuffed in a trunk, a veteran operator (Berry) takes the line, using her considerable skills to keep the girl calm, while trying feverishly to find the kidnapper before it’s too late. Chestnut, a regular on last season’s FX drama American Horror story, just wrapped the Universal comedy ID Theft opposite Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy. He was last seen on screen in Think Like A Man. He’s repped by Gersh and KLWGN Ent.

A few years back I worked as a PA on a small movie with Morris in which he was the lead . You’d never know it though, cause when lunch came around Morris would just enter the back of the line and quietly wait his turn just like everybody else. From my experience, the guy was nothing but polite and cool to everybody he came I contact with. I hope his star continues to rise.
Morris is fantastic. Halle Berry’s husband. Love it. Morris is a total pro works hard and is an fabulous actor.
That is great news – too bad for Omari Hardwick – his career just keeps falling – replaced by Morris Chestnut
But I’d rather watch Morris any day of the week
Nobody knows who Omari Hardwick is, so how can his career fall? He has never starred in any movie or show. If anything, he is doing just fine. You sound like a disgruntled, fired, ex-rep… Be quiet hater.
In an alternate universe it would have been Morris Chestnut who had that big run that Terrence Howard had a few years ago when he was in everything. Great actor and good guy.
