Here’s an image from Twitter of President Obama’s tweeted response to Clint Eastwood’s speech at the Republican National Convention. During his speech Eastwood carried on a mock dialogue with an empty chair that represented the Democratic incumbent.

Not for long is RIGHT!
And Eastwood rocked.
Obama is so good, hatred of him lead Mitt to think he could a have his job just by showing up and coasting on the hate. Nice try, Mitt. The 1950s are over. Sorry. Welcome to 2013.
Unfortunately for you, Jake and manny, you will have another lovely 4 years with Obama again.
This time, he can get things done — he had to clean up 8 years of Bush’s trash to get to this point.
Olivia,
Let’s assume Obama wins, but let’s also assume the Republicans hold the House (tracking indicates they will by a good majority) and, maybe Republicans gain a seat or two in the Senate.
What makes you think Obama will have the ability to unite the parties and get anything done this time around? The rancor in Washington will most likely stay the same or even increase. So, with all due respect to those wanting Obama…you can most probably expect another four years of nothing getting done. Since we have just had four years of little progress…what’s another four years?
BTW – I cannot bring myself to vote for either. I agree with Romney’s statement last night. The best feeling I have had for Obama was the day I voted for him.
He looks really good for 82.
He looked like a doddering old fool up there on the stage. Really sad. But I do like his movies.
Once they explain what Twitter is to Clint…he still won’t care. Angry, old white man who despises our society progressing. A perfect tweet.
Empty chair, empty suit.
That was really creepy last night.
Go Obama. A great man and President.
LOVE IT!!!
The last time I was this confused by a really old man standing on stage telling jokes I was watching Leno’s monologue.
Love Clint. At 82, he’s still classier than then next person talking or tweeting about him.
Classy, yes. Coherent? Not so much.
Seems more like a desperation tweet than a clever retort. The seat may be taken but the suit is still empty. Four more years? Nah.
I agree.
The deluded people trying to convince themselves that this was some clever retort are in deep denial.
It had all the finesse of, “Oh yeah….so’s your mama!”
The President of the United States is in a twitter fight with a much beloved, and pretty senile old actor — and you people LIKE this?
this country has BIG problems — i really wish the leader of the free world wasn’t tweeting jokes in between fund-raisers.
What a petulant child. The economy is still a shambles, but he’s sniping about no one taking his chair? Hurry up, November.
I bet there’s at least 23million who agree with Clint, but he should have hung an empty suit instead.
An artificial tough guy who took out artificial bad guys makes a fool out of himself by demeaning a legitimately tough guy who made the ultimate decision to take out the ultimate bad guy.
Hey Deadline-
Stick to covering show business. I don’t come hear to read your political asides.
Politics IS show business.
No matter how fancy and how classy Obama answered on twitter doesn’t change the fact that he lost that debate. Period.
Which debate? You must be talking about Invisible Obama, LOL. The *real* debates haven’t happened yet. In which Romney will get creamed.
You sound as unhinged as ol’ Clint.
Obama has brilliant speechwriters-
that response was not his own.
This seat is taken? No, it is on loan.
And the picture was obviously taken by the Teleprompter.
Every Which Way You’ll Lose
I love him. President Obama not that crazy clint.
An angry old white man bitching to an empty chair and answering himself. This sums up the Republican Party in 2012. Can’t say I’m sad to see the decline.
It’s an exercise in hysterical blindness to see any kind of class act in Eastwood’s “speech.” Absolute truth is officially dead, stark reality is now subjective.
And for the record, Clint is still Clint; his endorsement of Romney was pretty par for the course.
Funny to watch Cons defend the indefensible, cherry-picking the recent past and palming it off as actual history, excising 8 years of the disastrous Bush regime…except for Condi.
It would easier for everybody if they just admitted they’re racist and don’t like living under the authority of a black president, even if his policies help all Americans. It would make for a way more honest debate, that’s for sure.
Obama/Biden 2012!
