Why not release this within a week or two of Halloween? Mid-August seems like an odd release date for this type of film.
It used to be a treat to ge see an animated film when there were only one or two animated films per year. Now there is a friggin’ 3D animated film opening every other week in the name of ‘family entertainment’ not quality. This looks crap-tastic like the last three animated films that opened this summer.
The trick is to weed out the bad animated films from the good. ‘ParaNorman’ is definitely in the latter category. It’s stop-motion, though, which is not to everyone’s taste. Get over that, and having seen ‘ParaNorman’ myself, I can tell you the animation is handled brilliantly, the story is really cool and there are enough elements to keep older kids, adults and genre fans very happy.
For the record: I have no connection with this movie, its makers or distributor, in any shape or form.
