EXCLUSIVE: In his first post-House gig, Robert Sean Leonard has signed on for a five-episode arc on TNT’s sci-fi drama Falling Skies. Also set for a five-episode arc on the upcoming third season of Falling Skies is ER alumna Gloria Reuben, reuniting with her ER co-star, Falling Skies‘ leading man Noah Wyle.
Leonard, repped by WME and manager Danny Sussman, will play Roger Kadar, PhD, an obsessive but gifted scientist who runs Charleston’s power grid and lives underground with his pet rats. The children of New Charleston, intrigued by his cool science toys and unusual pets, eventually dub him “The Rat King.” For the past eight seasons, Leonard played Gregory House’s (Hugh Laurie) best friend and moral compass Dr. James Wilson on the Fox medical drama. Following his arc on Falling Skies, he is likely to return to series full-time as he is already fielding interest for pilots.
Reuben, repped by APA and manager Estelle Lasher, will play Marina Perlata, an aide to Wyle’s Tom Mason, who has been one of the leaders from the human resistance movement against an invading alien force. Attractive and a very put together woman, Marina is extremely intelligent and her political knowledge and experience could prove extremely helpful to Tom. This marks Reuben’s return to TNT where she starred in the legal drama Raising The Bar. She will next be seen in Lincoln.

Nice to see Robert Sean Leonard getting an arc on Falling Skies, but him fielding pilot offers is surprising, considering he was always complaining about working long hours on House.
So much for RSL returning to New York to do plays and never setting foot on LA soil to work again !!!
My thoughts exactly. Talking about greener pastures…
There’s a House finale interview where RSL goes on at length about how there can be little work in theater every now and again. He was a bit shocked to return to the world of rejection and “we’re going with another guy” responses after an eight-year steady job.
Well Falling Skies films in Canada so technically…
I am pleased he is still going to be on TV just surprised that’s all.
So excited to see Noah Wyle and Gloria Reuben on screen together again
Surprising indeed, given all his whining.
And thus begins the very short countdown of Gloria Ruben becoming an unregular on falling skies. I predict an episode and a half and then she’ll bolt.
I love Gloria Reuben, she can give the rest of the cast a master class in acting.
Why is he taking this crappy role? I thought after House he would get good offers. Maybe the guy is desperate for money.
Oh I’m so excited that Robert Sean Leonard has returned to TV. Never heard of the show but I definitely will be watching. He’s my fav actor of all time.
Actually it makes sense to me that RSL is doing this. Story arcs insteadseem of seriesthe regular seem to be a better fit for the lifestyle he has said he likes to keep.
This isn’t his first “gig”. He is playing Henry Higgins in a revival play of Pygmalion in the Old Globe Theater in San Diego. His first love has been and apparently always will be the theater.
