It’s such a rare phenomenon for a global media mogul to keep tweeting his partisan thoughts on the news, that Deadline can’t get enough of Rupert Murdoch‘s Twitter account. This morning, he weighed in on Mitt Romney’s running mate pick, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis) after weeks of voicing disappointment with Romney’s ‘playing-it-safe’ campaign:
@rupertmurdoch
Thank God! Now we might have a real election on the great issues of the day. Paul Ryan almost perfect choice.

I’m surprised Rupert has time to tweet, what with all the illegal cell phone hacking. What an inspiration!
Yeah he’s sitting in his mansion browsing the internet and of all things… tweeting. What a luxury it is to be rich:
Rupert, you’re responsible for one of the most shocking crimes of invasion of privacy and you get to sit there while your lawyers do all the work and your employees take all the heat and lose their careers. How sickening it is that peoples’ phone conversations had an audience because your magazine wanted more sales but YOU and anyone else carrying most of the responsibility won’t serve ONE DAY IN PRISON!
I don’t want to vote for Obama, but I definitely will not vote for anyone or anything that has to do with you.
Well, thank goodness our Australian monarch has anointed this choice.
And now Mitt will win because Murdoch’s endorsement brings with it untold legions of black, hispanic and working class voters.
Yes! The “Romney Rainbow Battalion!”
Wow. What a surprise.
Mitt “chooses” the VP choice of his corporate backers in another weak attempt to shore up his base. This is great news… for John McCain!
Next thing Rupert will be doing is FOUR SQUARING from Starbucks.
“almost perfect choice”
Who would be the perfect choice for Rupert…James?
Otto von Bismarck.
If you know or love someone who depends on medicare, this is a very scary thing. Before, I was somewhat undecided. Not now.
First, I am neither voting for Obama or Romney. I don’t mind the Ryan choice, but Rubio would have allowed Romney to win. With that said, maybe Romney is doing you a favor trying to get your family less dependant on the government. I dont like ROmney lol.
Let the real debate begin and let’s hope this is the beginning of a Romney-Ryan victory march.
And by victory you mean higher taxes on the middle class, two new wars (Iran/Syria) and ruining medicare, social security, etc. Unless you’re very rich, Romney/Ryan is a bad idea.
Medicare and Social Security were ruined from the start. They are garbage now. Taxes on the middle class? I don’t see Obama doing anything about that. Lowering it or anything. And you may be right about the wars. Unfortunately.
April Fool’s Day has long passed. No chance in hell that these bozos will win.
let’s hope this is the beginning of the end for that say anything, say nothing campaign of the fair weather, corporate douche romney.
Oh come on, the liberal media slobbers over Obama EVERY SINGLE DAY!
Romney– present your tax returns! This worthless VP choice will not distract from the fact you refuse to let the American people see whether you’ve fairly contributed to this country like the rest of the populace. If @ all. We have no reason to trust you w/ the future of our country until you do.
Yeah seriously! Present those tax returns, the day after Obama presents his college transcripts. Tis only fair.
Right! Because, after all, tax returns and college transcripts aren’t apples and oranges. Obama’s potentially lousy grades are just as important as Mitt’s ten years of no taxes.
I hope Romney avoided taxes: shows that he’s smart! Move to France if you don’t like this country! 75% tax rate!
Riiiiight… because that’s exactly what Mitt Rmoney did to dodge the draft in the 60s.
A choice 1% of the US populace can get orgasmic over.
Paul Ryan was an awesome pick by Romney! Today’s left would never vote for JFK…you know, the guy that CUT taxes across the board for everyone, thereby INCREASING gov tax revenues (you just have to cut spending at the same time…not spend more when you get more). That’s where Ryan is brilliant…he’s a true leader and not a pandering idiot like Obama. The left will use the usual, tired “pushing granny over a cliff and taking away your Medicare to pay for tax cuts for the rich” BS, but people with any intelligence have caught on to that game and won’t be fooled again.
Seriously, where do you conservative nutbags come from? All you do is come here and parrot the nonsense your right-wing overlords at Fox News and conservative talk radio tell you. Do you really expect to change any minds? Especially when you sound absolutely insane? Jesus.
And guess what? Paul Ryan is absolutely the man who wants to push granny off a cliff and take away your and her Medicare. Because the plan he pushed in Congress and that the Republican party voted for does EXACTLY that! Oh, and it destroys Social Security and gives all that money straight to the 1%, aka people just like Mitt Romney! So…enjoy losing the election this year! I hope it was worth it to put this zombie-eyed granny starver on the ticket just to satisfy your insane teabagger egos!
Today’s extremist right would never vote for Reagan. Amnesty for 3 million immigrants. Raised the tax rate 11 times. He did nothing to overturn Roe vs. Wade. He tripled the federal deficit. Unemployment was 10.8% during his administration. Funneled weapons illegally to the current right’s mortal enemy, Iran.
Paul Ryan is a lying flip flopper just like Mittens. He pretends to follow Ayn Rand’s philosophy claiming it’s why he got into public service then denounces her saying he’s a devout Catholic who follows Thomas Aquinas. He promises to reduce government but voted for Bush’s TARP & his budget will increase military spending for no reason. That’s a pandering idiot whether you want to accept it or not.
CM don’t bring those lame talking points when you don’t have facts to back up half of what you said. You can’t compare the US economy in the 1960s to now. The 60′s had one of the best decades of expansion of the US economy. You could afford to cut taxes then and still bring in more government revenue. Now we’re crawling out of recession (when we need spending the most) and we’re competing against nations like India and China for jobs.
Paul Ryan is brilliant…if by that you mean he’s trying to sell America a turd while calling it chocolate. His plan would increase taxes on the middle class while cutting taxes for the rich. America needs LESS economic disparity. Not more.
Well he is on the Payroll already .
Rupert is right!!…….Paul Ryan is an excellent choice for VP!!
