UPDATE, 5:17 PM Thursday: Sarah Palin’s comments on Facebook about her Republican Convention speech being canceled may be part of an elaborate negotiating tactic, according to New York magazine. Palin’s contract is supposedly up in January, and Fox News is considering what kind of new deal they will sign, if they decide to keep Palin at all. At roughly $1 million a year, Palin is Fox’s highest-paid contributor, the magazine said. Additionally Fox execs have been underwhelmed by Palin’s ratings. And Palin hasn’t been happy when Fox hasn’t given her top billing. Sources cited by New York say things have been so touchy that all communications have been through her husband Todd Palin, currently one of the contestants on NBC’s reality series Stars Earn Stripes. Additionally, Palin’s Facebook commentary likely did not endear her to Fox News chief Roger Ailes, who values discipline and loyalty. For now though they appear to have made peace. Despite being suddenly removed from FNC’s rundown on Wednesday, Palin is now scheduled to be on with Sean Hannity tonight.
PREVIOUSLY, 4:44PM Wednesday: Sarah Palin took to Facebook today to complain about Fox News removing her as a talking head for the network’s GOP convention coverage. Fox News tells Deadline there’s no conspiracy theory. ”Our plans changed based on the fact that the RNC condensed the schedule of speeches from four nights to three. We look forward to having Governor Palin back as soon as we can,” FNC EVP for Programming Bill Shine said today. The Republicans trimmed their Tampa, Florida gathering by a day this past weekend after it looked like Hurricane Isaac might hit the city. Palin, a Fox News contributor since 2010, might be super sensitive right now because the former 2008 Vice-Presidential candidate wasn’t asked to speak at the convention. The former Alaska Governor gave no reason as to why she had be removed from FNC coverage. “I’m sorry Fox cancelled all my scheduled interviews tonight because I sure wanted to take the opportunity on the air to highlight Senator John McCain’s positive contributions to America, to honor him, and to reflect on what a biased media unfairly put him through four years ago tonight,” wrote Palin today. McCain, the 2008 Presidential nominee, is scheduled to speak to the convention tonight. Though Palin has no political role at the convention, her name was mentioned as possibly being the mystery speaker set to take the stage before Mitt Romney on Thursday night. Clint Eastwood and a hologram of Ronald Reagan are also rumored to be that mystery speaker.

As a lifelong Democrat, I could not agree more. Very sorry to see msnbc degenerate into a very second rate FNC for the left. It seems there isn’t anywhere for an old fashioned ‘middle of the roader’ to go for straight up news reporting anymore. It makes me sick to see Chris Matthews screaming insults at Republican ‘guests’ using his own not-so-subtle code to imply they are racist. Poor Andrea Mitchell does her best to stay above the fray, but how can anyone who fancies himself a journalist stand to report next to Rachel Maddow and her band of leftist commentators. Even Rush Limbaugh seems to know he’s not a journalist. NBC just spent a ton to rebrand Msnbc as NBC News online. Put your
Sad, but nobody watches “middle of the roaders” in this country. CNN’s ratings are in the toilet because they’re in the middle (anything other than Fox News is leftist to GOP losers). All people want are partisan hacks and shouters. Fox News leads the way in this, with the ratings to prove it.
Watch BBC, PBS or Al-Jazeera if you want real news.
Fox doesn’t like Sarah Palin at all and regard her as a female Ron Paul, also hated by Fox. They kept Ron Paul out of the 2008 debates – remember? They claimed their studio was too small to include him. They had liberal Repub Rudy Giuliani on constantly four years ago. They prefer Geraldo, Mia what’s her name, Bob “No Neck” Beckel, Juan Williams and other liberal losers. I won’t watch that crowd. Fox also dumped Matt Drudge several years ago and demoted the great Judge Andrew Napolitano (JudgeNap.com) a few months back. Fox is sliding downhill, trying to be like the rest of the networks. They’re trying to be “fair” and “inclusive” these days. I watch Fox less and less. They also trot out Bill Kristol, the former Colin Powell cheerleader, as a “conservative.” Even Krauthammer worked for Jimmy Carter and Walter Mondale.
1 million ? how about 1 buck and all she can eat
Ailes is crazy if he pays her anything he should be delighted her contract is almost over he regrets ever hiring her and he should tell her to ask Facebook for a salary for posting her nonsense there.
She got on the bad side of Roger Ailes. What did she expected would happen when she defied her master?
“I hired Sarah Palin because she was hot and got ratings.”
- Roger Ailes, FNC Chairman
Cut her loose, Fox. She is poisonous, no one likes her (including Republicans), losing her won’t dent your ratings, and it’s not like another network will snap her up. If Fox is wise they’ll realize that Palin is less relevant (and likable) now than she was even 6 months ago, and in 6 months time she will be even more of a liability. She is scheming, untrustworthy, and uninteresting. LET HER GO.
Sociopath.
Please release her she soooo yesterday as my grandchildren say………
Thank you
I’m disappointed at the level of ignorance and hatred expressed by so many. That level of ignorance scares me as much as pondering the disaster which would be repeated and expanded if Obama wins again.
Sarah Palin can best be described as intelligent, insightful, warm, and 100% supportive of our blessed America and its constitution. Because she is so effective, the Left is scared to death of her pro-American message, and pulls out all the stops to destroy her persona and reputation. She is as beautiful as her All-American message, and I hope she continues to be a public spokesperson. She should take comfort in how she confounds her enemies. We love her!
Bobblehead is the best description of Sara Palin I’ve heard. What a disgrace that people allow themselves to support such a money grubbing false politician. She has such talent but won’t put in any time to LEARN enough to lead anyone. Just relies on emotional issues to insure unrest.
