Can’t wait for your wisecrack comments about this Summit Entertainment movie being a statement about this duo’s careers. There’s no release date yet, but Arnold Schwarzenegger stars opposite Sylvester Stallone in The Tomb directed by Swedish filmmaker Mikael Håfström. An Emmett/Furla Films-Mark Canton production, the film is produced by Atmosphere Entertainment chairman Mark (“You can look up my credits!”) Canton, Randall Emmett, George Furla, Robbie Brenner, and Kevin King-Templeton. Emmett/Furla Films is financing while Summit holds worldwide distribution rights. Written by Miles Chapman, with a rewrite by Jason Keller, The Tomb was originally set up as a spec script by Brenner at Summit. It’s about the world’s foremost authority on structural security who has to escape from the master prison of his own design. Arnie plays an inmate. Schwarzenegger and Stallone will next be seen on screen together in Lionsgate’s The Expendables 2.

Not much of a mastermind if he gets out.
A Sly and Arnold love scene is a must!
I can not wait for this movie!
I know Stallone already broke out of prison in Tango and Cash. But still, this could be in the good/bad hall of fame.
Fingers crossed!
Tango and Cash is an awesome movie.
This is all good and fine, but I really just wish they had combo’d back when they were in their prime 20 years ago. Sure there’s a nostalgia element to their teaming up now, but it’s like they missed the boat.
Exactly
“It’s NOT a Tomb-er!”
LOL
Arnie looks great, the beard really suits him
Gotta love the fact that this item on Ah-nold and Sly’s newest action extravaganza is immediately followed by one about the latest Woody Allen movie. And I am posting this in August of 2012.
Of 2012!
Blows my mind.
movie is badass i read the script cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they’ll have Viagra at craft services on this film…
Actually the 400 + guys that worked on this had a blast doing this one, even though a close friend said he felt sorry for the poor wardrobe girl because they STUNK by the end of each day.
Crafty was pretty bad but hey, they were in prison after all. My husband says its one of the best movies he ever worked on. That working in such close proximity with Sly and Arnie was on his short movie “wish List”….Every night when I was actually still up, he had stories to tell about the great stuntmen, the camaraderie, blah, blah, blah….apparently this was some kind of fantasy male bonding experience. That being said, I was still very glad when he was finally released after a month of “incarceration”. Turns out I didn’t do so weel as a “mob” wife.
Yes. This movie is indeed both bad and ass.
Who could make a wisecrack about Stallone’s career? He’s had one of the most successful and lucrative careers in Hollywood. Add to that his comeback with Rocky Balboa- both a criticalvand financial hit- followed by a string of action blockbusters, and I don’t think anyone could make a snarky put-down stick. Arnold is a legend as well. Guess it is easier to tear down than create. I for one am looking forward to The Tomb and wish all involved the very best.
Script was fun.
I mean this without an ounce of snark:
For his own sake, because he really does have a few more years of his own in him, Stallone needs to stop trying to revive Arnold’s movie career. I don’t think that loyalty is a good enough excuse to continue letting Arnold delude himself into thinking that he’s anything other than the punchline to a pathetically bad joke.
Arnold’s character sacrifices himself in a noble, heroic death during the final minutes of the film so that Stallone’s character may survive and escape…and Arnold’s last lines are: “GO NOW! GET TO DA CHOPPA!”
[All of the above is pure speculation!]
Which one plays the aging movie star and which one is in a wheelchair?
And -
I thought Summit sold out and was folded into Lionsgate. What am I missing here?
Agree with the others – script was surprisingly enjoyable…will be a fun guilty pleasure.
I wish Stallone would do a normal drama. Like Copland again. He really is that good!
And he’s still in great shape. That takes dedication. Kudos.
Remember, “He blew it!!!”
Hopefully it’s better than The Expendables was. Those guys are action legends to a generation of men.
I wish Stallone got a little more credit. He has produced some of the best, yes sometimes cheesy, but entertaining action films in memory, as a writer, actor and director.
To me, these guys are true action stars.
I am looking forward to their upcoming films.
The boys are still back in town.

‘Nuff said!
Nikki,
Love that you pulled up that story about Canton from 3 years ago.
Fame may be fleeting on the net, but reporting is ever-lasting.
Cleanest prison ever. Looks more like a Gap commercial than a jail.
I think from the synopsis it’s supposed to be a new state of the art prison, so yes it could theoretically be that clean.
awesome ,Arnold and Stallone …in same movie again ,i m gone look forward for that movie,,
Does Theory make the prison wear in the pic?
Arnold and Sly, these men are action hero legends. Age is the only thing that people attack. What amazes me is we all go to see their movies despite the punchlines, and we use their puchlines in everyday comments, “I’ll be back” “Asta la Vista – Baby” “I shoulda broke your thumb”, just to mention a few. I won’t care if they made the worst film in history – these legends would bring me to the theatre anytime! I can’t wait to see them both – back in action!
I can’t wait for this mega macho combo!
