Actor/comedian Thomas Middleditch (The Campaign) is set to co-star opposite Rainn Wilson and Majandra Delfino in The Office spinoff project, which will be introduced in an episode of the veteran NBC comedy’s upcoming final season. Titled The Farm, the spinoff has Dwight (Wilson) living at the Schrute family beet farm and bed & breakfast. Middleditch will play his easygoing 30something brother, Jeb Schrute, who hasn’t done well in any previous career paths he’s taken – worm breeder and Bigfoot hunter among them — but has found some success with a pot farm and has made an exercise video about things you can do with a knife and a canoe. Delfino plays their sister Fannie. The Farm was conceived by Wilson and former Office executive producer/showrunner Paul Lieberstein.TV Editor Nellie Andreeva - tip her here.

Dear NBC,
NO ONE is interested in this show and THIS is why you are in last place.
Agree. The Office succeeded because lots of people work in offices and could identify with the kinds of idiots that were featured on the show. I don’t know too many people who live on beet farms. They’ll need some good writers to make this work.
I never want to trash a show before it airs but I just get a feeling that this show will have difficulty in maintaining ratings and creating a sustainable franchise. The Dwight Schrute character has been getting really dry over the past couple of years and I don’t see how the format of this show will be able to revitalize it. Best of luck to everyone with it but Middleditch must be just hoping that if he takes this oppurtunity he will get more main-stream exposure and jump on to a better oppurtunity
Middleb*tch is brilliant. Called out his rise to the top A YEAR AGO. He’s going to be hilarious. Always bet on canadian.
Agreed, Middleditch is a very capable bringer of amusement. If he’s half as good on NBC as he is on stage, it will be fun to watch.
So will ANY member of Dwight’s family look like him? Even a little bit?
Used to see this guy on stage at IO Chicago. Incredibly talented. Just upped the value of the show.
GO THOMAS! That guy’s awesome!
I think Schrute has been doing too many Shrooms.
