TNT made the announcement during last night’s season 1 finale. The network had previously said it would return in 2013. And here’s a good reason why. Dallas is cable’s #1 new drama with adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 for the year-to-date. The Southfork reboot also is right behind TNT’s Perception among cable’s top new series of the year-to-date among total viewers. For its first season, Dallas averaged 4.5 million viewers in live plus same day delivery, with 1.4 million adults 18-49 and 1.8 million adults 25-54. TNT says the first season ended with 4.3 million viewers for last night’s episode — up 32% over last week’s episode. The show also scored significant growth over last week among key demos, with adults 18-49 up 58% to 1.6 million and adults 25-54 up 49% to 1.9 million. Cynthia Cidre and Michael M. Robin serve as executive producers on the series created by David Jacobs. Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray and Larry Hagman, all from the original, star in the rebooted series that features the next generation of Ewings who take ambition and deception to a new level. TNT did not announce an exact date for the return, only that it would debut in January.

Really getting into this show. Loved the scene where JR holds Bobby’s hand in the hospital and tells him he loves him and to keep on fighting him. Great show. That Larry Hagman has… Potential.
This is my guilty pleasure show, love seeing the original cast members. I hope Larry Hagman lives to be 100. JR is the heart of the show seeing him so frail is hard to watch with his health issues but even at 80 he is still the best villan on TV. I hope they bring back Victoria Principal (Pam) she is the only thing missing for the show. But please someone give Jordana Brewster an apple she looks anorexic and it’s shocking.
great show i am so surprised at how good it is…everyone go watch the first season on demand..i really had fun with it. good older folks back and new cast is equally fun. nice to have a well written soap back on the air.

Love the new remake of Dallas! I watched it for years in the 80′s and it’s just as good! Lots of surprises in the final episode for season 1, Great show!

Yes, the character of Pam MUST come back, whether played by Victoria or someone else such as Margaret Michaels. While i love the new show, there is still something missing, just like there was in the original after Pam left. It would be like continuing Romeo and Juliet without Juliet there. Bring Pam back. Recast if you must.
I am so in love with Dallas. This is the best new show so far on tv. I don’t think any other show can top them.

I’m truly pumped at the fact that Dallas returns in January… writers, please keep up the good work! However, with all due respect to you apple. Pam wouldn’t be able to return because her character was blown up in the crash with that propane truck. The only way Pam could come back would be if Bobby or Christopher were to have flashback visions like with Sylvester Stallone & Burgess Merideth in Rocky V.
Personally, I’d love to see Afton Cooper (Audrey Landers) return to the show at some point in the new season
No Pam did not DIE. She was in the hospital with extensive plastic surgery and was last seen telling Cliff and Bobby that she fell in love with her doctor in Houston, and to “go on” without her. Go watch the show…
It was actually just Cliff she was talking to (with April waiting out in the hall). Bobby stayed home as he wanted nothing to do with Pam and felt that if she wanted to come home, she would on her own.
Pam was in the crash but didn’t die she was only badly burned. She could come back as herself having had cosmetic surgery. Personally I’m tired of the drama between her and Bobby. Leave it alone and let Bobby get along with his new wife. If she does come back don’t bring a look alike in her place that is worse than not having her on the show. If she does come back just have her on her own or with another husband where she is in her own business. I like the show the way they are doing it now cast and all.
Pam cannot come back, even though she was not killed. When we last saw her she was in some hospital in europe, had a terminal illness, a few months only to live and had divorced Bobby. She was not coming back with three more years to run on the old show, so how can she come back now? And how would she even fit in? Bobby has a new wife with a strange past; that is enough fun. Rebecca is the daughter of Cliff Barnes, carrying Christopher’s twins, and will be a force to contend with and as for Elena and John Ross? Pam must have died by now in any event as she had a terminal illness and was not likely to live long. Why do you want Pam to come back? I agree with the last poster; leave it alone. Anne is enough for Bobby to handle with his heart and brain problems as well; he does not need another ex wife to show up out of the blue and neither do the fans. It would be ridiculous.

I love love love this show. Was first introduced to the show with this new season but have read up and watched many many episodes of the old Dallas and am addicted. I knew Rebecca would end up being cliffs but I want her to end up with Christopher instead of Elena. Rebecca has a lot of work to do haha. I love bobby and christopher together . I hope the show ends up the way I predicted. Can’t wait till January!!!
GREAT NEWS! Really shows what’s old is new again, and some shows NEVER go out of style if a reboot is handled respecring the source material.
As a twentysomething myself, I just got into this show through rerums and reading up on the characters. But just seaing a few eps of S1, including the famed ‘Who Shot JR?’ Ark, makes it easy to see why the young demo got so into TNT’s sequel-reboot
On a side-note, isn’t it fascinating how the quality of TV Drama has changed in a few decades?! I mean, you can have the same characters and similar type of story, and yet compaire the new Dallas to the original is like 3 episode plot twists of the old show in one new episode.
Audience standards have really gone up since the 70s I guess. Just glad the show runners were able to apply modern style & sensability to such beloved characters…

Watched every episode on Friday nights in the 80′s and it’s every bit as good now.I didn’t originally subscribe to TNT but when I found out this show was coming back on the air I just had to order it.I was disappointed to hear that it wouldn’t be on again until January.It’s going to be a long 4 months !!!!!
Cant wait for Season 2, & I also love Chris with Rebecca. She was so powerful at the end of the last episode when we saw she was Cliffs daughter. Hope they keep S2 a mix of the young & old cast & hope Rebecca stays around.
Pam survived the explosion and returned briefly. She was “disfigured” (Margaret Michaels played the role for one episode) and “had only months to live” because of some mysterious ailment, but that can be fixed. She may still be back.
Love the new Dallas, never missed an episode of the old show. Please bring back Pam. She and Bobby had real chemistry. Ann and Bobby just don’t go together. Bringing Pam back would really put the show over the top.
I fully agree. Where did Ann come from anyway ?? She is not a good match for Bobby, and always ready to pull out her gun.. Pam would have not done that..she was much more a lady !! please bring her back ! I would also like to see Jenna & Ray come back to the show, they were awsome! I’m not really thrilled that Bobby has the part to play where he has cancer.
We just LOVE the Dallas series! Thank you so much! Finally a show for the 45+ with some powerful acting & excellent twists: hope they keep the same Dallas crew! Can’t wait for series 2 to begin. Please put in the order now for season 3 & 4++ so we can look forward to the next few years of intrigue & family drama without delay..
Larry Hagman you are the best villain in drama television! Thank you for introducing JR to new generations of fans. I waited 20+ years for this and I can’t get enough!!!! All fans, do yourself a favor and watch the original episodes, the writers are doing a superb job for the loyalists and the newbies. Can’t say thank you enough!

Love the new Dallas. I was young when the first series aired but I really enjoy seeing JR again. The scene with John Ross in the barber’s chair and JR with the razor on his throat really got things going for me. Keep up the good work.
My new favorite show! I am glad to hear they are making a season 2 and it will be out so soon. I can’t wait to see what happens next!!
This is how I think season 2 should go. They need to bring back Jenna and Ray. After that Charlie also needs to come back. Getting Shalane McCall to do the role would be great. If she would not agree other options would be Tiffani Amber Thiesen, Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling or Shannen Doherty. They should have Charlie bitter against Jenna and Ray as a self destructive adult. Having Naldo Marchetta faking his death and back should be also intersting. He should be reformed and sorry for everything he did to Jenna. Jenna, Ray, Bobby and Naldo should join forces to help Charlie reform and be a better mother to her children. She should be a replica of Sami Brady on Days. As for Ann they should actually have her turn out to be Katherine Wentworth. It should come out that she was responsible for Pam’s disapperace. Then they should put Katherine/Ann in jail. Pam and Bobby need to be reunited and have their happy ending. Pam and Bobby then need to work with Christopher to get his babies away from Rebecca and Cliff. After that Christopher should marry Elena and they should raise the babies together

I love this show:-) Yes, it is definitely going to be a long 4 months waiting for the next season. I am a fan of the old Dallas and now a fan of the New Dallas, was hooked after the first episode. Great job to the Dallas crew! Now get to work on the next Season shows!
Dallas rocks! Victoria coming back after her supposed facial reconstruction on the original show? How would they write that in? Enough with Bobby and cancer and they need more Ray Krebs and Lucy and even Gary written in more. The new old office space will be the center of the next season. Look for a murder mystery to end season 2 reboot as well…….it will occur in the offices of Ewing Energies…..Cliff Barnes screws over Pam’s adopted boy and uses his own daughter from After Cooper to do it? JR U Wing knows all.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Dallas reboot!!! The season finale was absolutely perfect. The very last scene with JR and John Ross — and the Johnny Cash song in the background — was absolutely genius when John Ross told JR to teach him every dirty trick and JR responded with: “Now that’s my son — from tip to tail.” PERFECT!!! Absolutely perfect!! Keep up the great work and continue the great music with the show!
Love this show. Only complaint is it needs more Lucy and Cliff!
