Aside from Top Gun 2, Tony Scott has left behind some very promising development projects. The ones that were closest to the start line were Narco Sub at Fox and Lucky Strike with Vince Vaughn starring, Emmett/Furla funding and Fox distributing and a remake of The Wild Bunch at Warner Bros. The one I was most intrigued by was his plan to remake the Walter Hill-directed The Warriors, the 1979 drama about the street gang framed for murdering a gang leader, who are hunted by assorted street gangs as they try to make their way back to the safety of their home turf. Under Scott’s direction, that would have been something to see.

Director-Producer Tony Scott Jumped To Death From San Pedro Bridge In Suicide

I met with Tony on THE WARRIORS. He had met and been accepted by nearly every gang from LA to Long Beach and had put together some of the most incredible artwork and photographs. If I’m not mistaken, the opening of the film was on that bridge. It was to be set here in present day and would have been incredible. He had a tough time getting the studio to sign off because it was dark. We drank cocktails in his office at Scott Free and I left thinking that I’d be lucky to have anywhere near his spirit, energy, and curiosity at his age. Only met him that one time but left inspired by his passion.
I think you were fortunate indeed.
These idiots have obviously got TOP GUN confused with
JUMPING THE GUN-
Isn’t the situation bad enough without a bunch of lies and distortion added to the tragedy ?
