20th Century Fox TV has signed a one-year development and talent holding deal with Wilmer Valderrama. Under the pact, the studio will develop a project for the That ‘70s Show alum to star in and produce. Valderrama will start meeting with writers next week and will consider both comedy and drama projects. He may also bring his own show ideas or opt to board a project that is already in development at the studio. If the project Valderrama is attached to does not get a green light, 20th TV can cast him in another pilot for next season.
The deal extends Valderrama’s relationship with 20th TV. He had a similar development/holding deal during the 2010-11 season, which resulted in his casting on the studio’s NBC drama series Awake. Before that, he starred in 20th TV’s hourlong comedy pilot for Fox The Emancipation Of Ernesto, and was attached to star in another 20th comedy project for Fox inspired by the work of “Dog Whisperer” Cesar Millan. He is now about to start a guest arc on the 20th/Fox comedy series Raising Hope where he will play Melanie Griffith’s boyfriend. “Wilmer is that great cousin who is funny and charming and talented, and you want him to come to every gathering,” 20th TV’s head of casting Sharon Klein said. “He is a breath of fresh air, all light and fun and smart.”
Valderrama, repped by UTA, The Collective and attorney Michael Gendler, is creator/executive producer of MTVTres’ Ricardo Laguna Project and webseries King Of The Floor for Electus’ Youtube Channel NuevOn. He will next be seen in Spike Lee’s The Girl Is In Trouble. This is the second high-profile talent/development deal for 20th TV this season. The studio also has a pact with Hilary Duff.

Every day with Wilmer Valderrama in the news is a good day. I said, good day!
I’d pay $532 to anyone who can tell me what this guy has on Hollywood executives. He seems always get deals and I can’t for the life of me figure out why.
I can’t wait until next week I will pitch Wilbur my best ideas now.
That 1870′s Show you time travel back to 1875 for humorous shenanigans.
That 1950′s Show you time travel back to 1955 similar to Happy Days but you are cooler than Fonzie ever was.
That 1770′s Show you interfere with the Declaration of Independence and hijinks ensue you are stuck there with Washington and Jefferson.
That 1990′s Show you time travel back to 1995 and you become famous.
Wilbur & Orville Wrong you are one of the Wrong Bros. wacky inventors who attempt to build the first airplane but they always get it wrong.
I Dream of Wilbur you play a genie who grants Lisa Kudrow three wishes.
He’s done it again.
A class act and a wonderful artist.
He’s obviously gone to the Justin Long “how to get getting jobs in Hollywood without talent” school.
While I’m shocked at how much press and work Valderamma gets, I’m even more shocked how little press and work Topher Grace is getting.
Walter, you are right. Topher Grace is the most talented thespian from The 70′s Show. He deserved an Oscar nomination for Traffic. It shocking that the limited Mila Kunis is a bigger star than Topher, and she is getting better opportunities than him.
Hey slow down. Mila Kunis is hot, hilarious and oozes charisma. She’s a comedy goddess.
Tell you what he’s got:
- acting chops (look at The Dry Land, Fast Food Nation, the moments in Awake when he let rip),
- comedy chops (see every channel every night and try and avoid Fez stealing the show)
and
- pheromones baby. Lots of very powerful pheromones. Check out the cast list of his contacts app.
if he’d look up from tweeting once in a while he’d see a world waiting for him to find the right vehicle.
You go bro.
I can see it now. “The Fez Show.”
Someone please save us from this.
Stop Mr. Pallister…wow.
Now what needs happen is UTA find him a REAL creator/showrunner to pair him with; and not pair him with some show runner who doesn’t have vision again, that doesnt get his shows picked up.
