EXCLUSIVE: APA has signed Icelandic actor Olafur Darri Olafsson, who stars in the Baltasar Kormakur-directed The Deep as a fisherman who becomes the remarkable lone survivor after the ship went down miles off Iceland in the middle of the winter. He swam back to shore in temperatures that quickly killed all his shipmates, and should have been cold enough to kill any human.

Olafsson was actually born in Connecticut but has lived most of his life Iceland, where he starred in Kormakur’s Reykjavik-Rotterdam (remade as Universal’s Contraband), and King’s Road. He wrapped a supporting role opposite Ben Stiller in Fox’s The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty. He is repped in the UK by John Grant of Conway Van Gelder.
