Hilarious! This belongs with the fake trailers before “Tropic Thunder.”
Atlas Shrugged 2?! Seriously? What’s the subtitle? “AS2:The Apology”!
Another government dependent heard from….
Atlas Shrugged Pt I bombed ($4.6 million on a $20 million budget) so which fool decided that it would be a good idea to give Pt II a theatrical release? This should have gone straight to DVD.
Thought this was a parody to cloud atlas at first….. but this one’s even more random…… and why are there two films coming out in the same month with “Atlas” in their name….
Great cast, but I don’t get it. I mean, really.
Then…watch it again and again until you get it.
How the heck is there a sequel to that flop seeing the light of day in theaters?????? What theater chain wants to put this albatross on their screens?
A for effort, E for execution. Maybe someday it’ll be remade with proper budget and casting.
The first one looked boring, like it was about trains or something. This trailer made me want to watch the movie. A clash between entrepreneurs who build an innovation and the government that wants to take over free enterprise. Seems timely what with the battle between the “You didn’t build that” Elizabeth Warren types and the “I built that without much help from government” Whether I watch it or not, this trailer works.
Huh? Is that some sort of YouTube parody? I haven’t seen a trailer that retro since 1981.
This one looks better than Part I. Can’t wait to see how they handle the final John Galt speech/manifesto which is a book unto itself. Very pleased this influential book is finally on the screen.
I’m sure it will light up the box office like Part 1 did.
There’s a little button that pops up under the video screen, that when I move my cursor over it, it says “change quality.” Unfortunately, there’s no option on it for “professionally made theatrical film.”
Deadline needs a “Like” button:) Great line!
Oops. Looks like someone forgot to turn off the free trial examples in the ‘how to build a trailer’ program.
I’m sure Paul Ryan is ecstatic!
Brought to you by the producers of Romney Loves Ryan and Let’s Tea Party!
Gee, and just in time for the election.
I like how the recast the entire film. And how Samantha Mathis has bags under her eyes. These producers are true professionals …. NOT.
That is freaking high-larious, with the emphasis on high. Love the effects that look like the worst examples of 1990s Power Rangers. This feels like it was crowd-sourced with amateur talent at every level, but particularly in the marketing.
What in the world?! Did somebody tell the guys doing the visual effects that they were going to use what they had done? To say it looks half-baked suggests that longer in the oven would help. I think this thing needs to go in the dumpster so that nobody accidentally sees it and gets sick!
Also, how is this a hot trailer? It has a whopping 485 views on Youtube – and at least 5 of those are mine, because I keep watching it to laugh at it.
The trailer looks okay. I am not confused by it but then I read the book and it looks like I am not alone. Atlas Shrugged remains one of the top selling books 50+ years after it was published – no small accomplishment.
But – it is a long book, full of complex relationships and a narrative driven as much by its original plot as by the underlying philosophy and I never thought it could be pulled off on a small budget. Recall that back in the day, there had been plans for a well known director of the era — it may have been Michael Cimino — who wanted to give it the big screen treatment. Probably should have been a miniseries but nobody seems to be putting any serious $$$ behind those either.
From the folks that brought you “The Great Recession,” an historically indefensible position on unbridled corporate greed. As unsophisticated, immature and arrogantly ignorant a point of view as, say, anarchy. At least, in making this piece of garbage, The producers put some money into union coffers. How’s that for Irony.
You could do a remake of “Gone With The Wind”…
…featuring Taylor Kitsch, Colin Farrell, Robin Williams, Cameron Diaz, and Larry The Cable Guy…
…and — making her professional acting debut — Kim Kardashian as Scarlet O’Hara…
…and have Lady Gaga and Skrillex compose the score to the film…
..and appoint Uwe Boll as director…
…and that movie would STILL gross more than AT2.
I’d pay to see that!
Good god. So this is what the cinematic version of a train wreck looks like.
Atlas Shrugged part two….this is where the story picks up pace. I enjoyed the first and look forward to the 2nd…a story of government standing in the ay, taxing, taking and taxing more, hmmm seems to me that is what is exactly going on today…he idea of what if all the investors just up and walked away…
What if …there does come a time when government can tax to much…spend to much….
Being a supporter of tea party canidates I will say that there is something I do stand for
A smaller leaner more efficient government….a government that obeys the constitution, a government that allows you to keep more of what you make…a government that just taxes you to redistribute wealth just robs you of your freedoms.
Finally, one cogent comment amongst the lathering, chattering class. The book has remained a classic all these decades because the basic tenets resonate with those who prefer self-sufficiency over a pandering lethargic society. Every day walking to work I encounter several fellow citizens of mine who ask me to take money out of my pocket and put it into theirs for no reason other than there willingness to humiliate themselves by begging. Extremely trifling and understandable given the climate espoused by this administration.
Great comments and I agree 100%; however, don’t you think you just offended 47% of our “nanny state” country? I sure hope so…..
