UPDATE, MONDAY PM: Jon Bon Jovi, Jennifer Hudson and Stevie Wonder have joined the performance lineup for President Obama‘s concert fundraiser next month at the Nokia Theatre at LA Live, Deadline has learned exclusively today. More names are expected to be released soon as organizers lock down final plans for the October 7 event. Bon Jovi, Hudson and long time Obama supporter Wonder join the previously announced Katy Perry and Earth, Wind & Fire on the bill, dubbed the 30 Days To Victory Concert, which is being put on jointly by the campaign’s Entertainment Advisory Council and veteran Hollywood special events producer Ken Ehrlich. Tickets remain on sale, we’re told.
PREVIOUS, FRIDAY PM: The Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill down at LA Live will be serving President Obama and some big donors October 7, a source with knowledge of the fundraising event told Deadline tonight. Jeffrey Katzenberg will be co-hosting the now $25,000 a ticket dinner scheduled after the 30 Days To Victory Concert at the Nokia Theatre. Harvey Weinstein may also come on board as co-host for the intimate meal between the incumbent and his wealthier supporters. Both Katzenberg and Weinstein are big Obama backers and have hosted exclusive high-priced dinners for the President. Earth, Wind & Fire are confirmed to perform at the concert, Deadline has learned. So is pop star Katy Perry. This will be Perry’s first appearance at an Obama campaign event. San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, who gave the keynote at the Democratic National Convention earlier this month, will speak, as will Obama. More performers and speakers are expected to be announced in the next few days. Tickets for the concert at the 7100-seat Nokia have been on sale at the campaign website for the past few days. All the $44 — Obama’s number in the line of Presidents — and $100 tickets are sold out but there are still $250, $1,000 and $2,500 tickets left. Those willing to put down $10,000 can get a picture with Obama and other VIP amenities. Doors open at the event at 2:30 PM on October 7.

Great another nightmare traffic jam so the wealthy and powerful can party with our Celebrity in Chief. It’s enough to make people vote for Romney. I’m tempted to vote for Mitt even though I’ll be better off with Obama that’s how disgusted I am with this nonstop celebrity fundraising.
Boycott Dreanworks and Weinstein films for all these traffic nightmares. Ugh I hate election season.
staggering to me with Obama’s position on Israel and especially what he’s been doing lately — that KATZENBERG and WEINSTEIN would be such supporters….
Well, you see
Heinreich..er, I’m sorry, Jon…You may find this hard to believe but Jews are NOT all part of one big collective. There’s diversity and difference of opinion among many of us. Not to mention the fact that we recognize that our current (and future) President, IS, in fact a supporter of Israel.
We are not a one-issue people. I have a term for you: Tikkun Olam. Google it, and you will understand why Thurston Howell Romney is not exactly favored among us. (Oh there’s also the Baptizing-Jews-As-Mormons-After-They’re-Dead-Thing.)
Yeah, a real ‘man of the people’. And by people I mean millionaire celebrities.
No one who gets to the position of either Romney or Obama can really claim they are a man of the people. What does that even mean, anyway?
$25,000 per plate, that’s likely more then the waiters will make in a year….or the people parking their $100,000 cars.
I wonder if any hidden camera footage will leak from this little party?
In less than 45 days it will all be over with, all the ads, the fundraisers, just a distant memory, why do you people even live anywhere near LA if you don’t like traffic? I grew up in LA and I mean IN LA not too far from Nokia Center. I got out of there 40 years ago, and never looked back.
It really is exceedly tedious, these “Obama’s tying up traffic!!” posts that accompany every fundraising announcement. Someone who’s never lived here would think Los Angeles normally has less
traffic than Des Moines.
Will J.K. be discussing all the off-shore deals he’s making for Dreamworks Animation?
Sounds like a fun night! Why all the hate? These people can afford it…can’t have all the big money going to the Mittster!
You sound bitter, tix are as low as $44.
Im going! Im not a celebrity, 1%, work 40hours a week and according to Romney I will be 47% when I am old.
Wow. The first post not only starts with the tired whining about Obama screwing up LA traffic, but also throws in a bit of age-old class envy, all in one sentence! I’ll be glad when Obama wins in November, maybe you people will finally shut the f u c k up.
Perhaps Jon Voight can get the banjo-pickin’ kid from Deliverance to play at the next Romney fundraiser.
Jennifer Hudson, who?
