President Obama is aiming to pack in a lot of celebrity action on Tuesday. It was formally announced today that he is heading to The Late Show With David Letterman that night. It will mark Obama’s second appearance on the late-night show since he entered the White House and his seventh appearance overall with Letterman. The visit, which will be taped for airing that night, was confirmed the same day it was announced that Obama will attend a fundraiser that same day with Beyonce and Jay-Z in NYC. It also comes a day after Letterman was revealed to be one of this year’s Kennedy Center honorees. Letterman has had a lot of attention from the First Family of late: Michelle Obama was on the show August 29 and August 13 with Olympian Gabby Douglas. New York will be campaign hotspot for Mitt Romney as well September 18: Along with his wife Ann, the Republican nominee will be appearing on Live! With Kelly & Michael in a pre-taped interview.

love that he has time for this, but meeting with Netanyahu is too much of an inconvenience.
I believe he has time for Dave rather than Bibi because Dave isn’t trying to drag this country into a war.
Netanyahu and his welfare-queen settlers and too-darned-holy-to-fight ultra-orthodox are trying to get Americans to fight and die in a war even Israeli military and Israeli intelligence doesn’t want.
Pretty sure Dave will be more fun than that.
Exactly, “Dave will be more fun than that.” Once again, his priorities are really comforting. I too get the feeling my Prez is in it for the fun of it. Too busy to be inconvenienced by our only allie and the one functional democracy in the Middle East.
The really good news is Letterman is done in NYC. If this were Leno, LA would AGAIN have to suffer the presidential traffic jams. Thanks, Dave!
What the F is wrong with this guy? (And I don’t mean Letterman.)
Wow… Really, this is the time?
With world events as they are today, he needs to attend to affairs of state and not yuck it up with sycophants.
You have GOT to be kidding me. This man’s ego is larger than the universe. And second the comment from westla – no time for world diplomacy – only talk shows to get votes and hang with celebs. Oy.
I’m actually looking forward to watching Mittens on “Live! w/ Kelly & Michael,” since Michael’s become the permanent co-host I can actually stomach Kelly for a little more than a few segments. …um, well almost.
