North Country writer Michael Seitzman has sold a second drama this season. Intelligence, which has been bought by CBS, is based on unpublished book Dissident by John Dixon and centers on a man gifted and cursed with a top-secret experimental microchip implanted in his brain that makes him computer-like in the way he sees and processes information. ABC Studios, where Seitzman is under an overall deal, is producing, with Seitzman and feature producer Tripp Vinson (Red Dawn) executive producing.
The premise of Intelligence, which has a procedural element, is reminiscent of two CBS dramas on the air, Person Of Interest, in which a duo tries to prevent crimes with the help of a top-notch computer program; and Unforgettable, whose protagonist has unusual mental abilities — she remembers everything. Intelligence joins Seitzman’s other drama project for next season, Cleopatra, which has a put pilot commitment at NBC with di Bonaventura TV producing. Last year, WME-repped Seitzman has pilot Americana in serious consideration at ABC.

CHUCK! Lives again.
twinsies!!!!
“A man gifted and cursed with a top-secret experimental microchip implanted in his brain that makes him computer-like in the way he sees and processes information” — so Chuck as a drama??
I was shocked to see “high concept” and “CBS” in the same sentence. Then I read the article and realized it’s just another stupid procedural.
Every logline by this guy is a DO NOT WATCH for me…
I hate CBS too but just because something is a procedural, it doesn’t mean it can’t be high concept.
I was reminded of “Chuck” too but let’s not get carried away, folks.
I think this was done better when it was called “Chuck.” Or “Jake 2.0.”
Lose the tough pic, bro… Your writing says anything but.
Excellent! Excited for this.
The writer of the book is superhuman, expect good things!!
the show seems like it might be subpar to my standards but I can varify that John Dixon is indeed superhuman and if anything the book will be top notch stuff.
