Production on the upcoming Fox comedy series The Mindy Project will stop for a week. The series, which is finishing up Episode 7 right now, was scheduled to continue shooting next week. On Monday and Tuesday, it was to film without star/creator/executive producer Mindy Kaling, who is scheduled to do promotional appearances in New York on Today, The Late Show With David Letterman and Live! With Kelly And Michael. Instead, the producers of the Universal TV series decided to move up one of the two weeks of planned October hiatus to next week. Although there will be no filming, the writers will continue work next week, catching up on scripts. Mindy Project, which stars The Office alumna Kaling as a young OB/GYN doctor, premieres September. 25.

Still waiting for any of this show’s promos to pique my interest or make me laugh.
Sad that it probably last to episode 7. Had high hopes for Mindy post-Office.

Mindy’s hiatus should be longer. Say a month, or a few years. Comedy itself would be better off.
Mindy is great, but she can’t carry a show.

You can watch her pilot on demand and possibly on Hulu and iTunes. We loved it! It is great! It is a perfect companion for New Girl and she definitely can carry her own show. So you should watch it and then be the judge.
This show is toast. Mindy’s not good, and none of the supporting cast is good either.
Maybe we should call the show Nan – toast in Indian…

Mindy is funny. I liked the pilot. And I hope she makes a great show.
When I saw hiatus I thought it was cancelled… I wishing was. It’s not good. At all.
Yikes. I really hope they fix it and start writing for all the actors surrounding Mindy. In the pilot it seemed like no one really got any material besides Mindy and Chris Messina.
This show won’t last past 3 episodes so do all of us a favor FOX and cancel this nonsense now.

Mindy is a nice woman with great writing chops, but she is death in front of the camera. “Whitney” had more laughs than the pilot for “The Mindy Project.” Kill this now, and get her back in the writers room where she can really shine.

The backlash against this overhyped show is building like a tsunami.
I caught Pilot episode on OnDemand in one of the special sections. It was excellent! Promos do NOT do it justice! Wasn’t anything like I expected. Learning now that Kaling is gifted.
I just don’t find her funny. Annoying? Yes, but not funny. Although I noticed females like her more. So maybe if I was a women I would like her. Maybe she is the “50 Shades of Grey” of comedy.
The persona that she does is a funny persona but maybe not a lead persona that can carry a vehicle. I thought she was funny and great in the Jason Segel/Emily Blunt movie but it was a supporting role. We shall see soon enough I suppose.
Show sucks…the hype was far too too much for something that frankly just doesn’t have the chops to live up to it. Even the way it’s shot lacks any imagination clearly all B roll crew.
