Entertainment Weekly announced today that Geoff Boucher is coming to the official magazine of receptionists to join the Movies team as a senior writer. This is after the Los Angeles Times moronically let him walk out on its “Hero Complex” blog. Just one wrinkle: Boucher also is in talks with movie/TV/gaming mogul JJ Abrams. Says my source: “I wouldn’t say JJ is supporting a journalistic endeavor. But you could say the two are discussing a future collaboration.” Hey, boys and girls, can you spell s-e-l-l-o-u-t? (And, no, Deadline didn’t try to hire him…)

What’s “sell-out” got to do with anything? Geoff can do what he wants and on his terms, just like you did.
As a fan who lives in LA, the saddest thing about all of this could be if they get rid of the free Heroes Complex IMAX screenings.
The story in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is going to look incredible in free 3D IMAX.
