Geoff Stults, the star of the Fox/20th TV Bones spinoff The Finder, is staying in the studio fold with a talent deal at 20th TV. Under the deal he is developing a multi-camera comedy as a starring vehicle for himself with his writing/producing partner Dave Whatley. Aaron Kaplan of Kapital Entertainment executive produces the project, which will be taken out later this month. If it doesn’t get ordered to pilot, the studio can cast him in an another project.
In the near term, Stults will join 20th TV’s new comedy series for Fox Ben And Kate, playing a single parent and love interest for Kate (Dakota Johnson). His first appearance will be is the Halloween episode which airs October 30. “Geoff is a tall hunk of man who makes me laugh,” 20th TV’s head of casting Sharon Klein said. “He’s the ultimate ‘man’s man’ AND ‘ladies man.’ He’s a big TV star who proved he can anchor a show with his dry wit on The Finder.” Stults’ series credits have been mostly on the drama side, including October Road, in which he played the lead, and Happy Town, though he also did an arc on 20th TV’s CBS comedy How I Met Your Mother. In features, he appeared in the comedies Wedding Crashers and The Break-Up. Stults is with UTA and Thruline Entertainment.
