Devastating news to those who knew him, worked with him and loved him. He was one of the best bosses many of us ever had and he will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.
What a shock! He was one of the good guys. Very sad.
Our community has lost a good friend and consumate pro. Thoughts go out to his wife and kids.
Sad news. Had the pleasure of working with Geoffrey Ammer many times while he was at Fox and Disney. Always appreciated his generosity and professionalism, he always had the best teams around him. Rest in peace Mr. Ammer.
R.I.P My Friend
How very sad. A real loss to the community. He was a real Prince…Knew him first personally the professionally. A great guy in every way. He will be missed..
RIP my dear friend
So sad. I was his assistant for 2 years at Disney…he was a good friend and my mentor. He will be missed.
I literally just saw him and was responding to his email. Beyond shocked and saddened. I got to know Geoff more on a personal level this past year after working with him on and off through the last decade, and I’m happy I got the opportunity to become his friend. He understood people, always remembered his humble beginnings, and had such an incredible drive and passion that leaves a void in this industry. Goodbye Geoff, we were all better off for having you in our lives, and this industry will mourn this tragic loss for a long long time. My heart goes out to his family, who he loved and spoke about all the time with a smile.
Very sad news Geoffrey was a class act.
As a friend, his mix of humor and wisdom always gave me a better perspective on things. He was a model husband and father. I’ll miss you very much, buddy.
Got to know him recently and really liked him. A good guy and a big loss to the town. RIP
Very well stated, Vincent. I was very fortunate to have worked with Geoff and he was just a truly great human being. Always talked about his “roots” and the love for his family. This is horrible news and puts things in perspective, as you just never know when your time to leave this Earth has come. Geoff and his family will be in my prayers… Nothing but the best memories and sincere thanks for his insight and friendship.
Shocked and such sad news. Geoff was always available and down to earth, I worked with him on and off through the years and he was one of the good guys. He’ll be missed.
This is terrible news. Geoff was such a nice guy. I worked with him when he was at at Sony. My condolences to his family…he will be missed.
You were an amazing father, husband and friend. Thank you for helping me through some difficult times over the last several years. I will always cherish our friendship. Thank you for treating my boys as though they were your own. Love you Buddy! Rest in Peace! I miss you already.
Geoff was always forward thinking and challenged people to do and be their best. His energy will be missed by an industry lucky enough to have had him. Just a great guy.
I worked with Geoff at 20th Century Fox for years, and he was always a decent, caring man in a business that doesn’t always place such a high value on that. Rest in peace, Geoff, and my prayers are with your famaily.
Yes, a very decent man and friend. Just shocking to all of us. Geoff had two families … all of the old team at 20th Century Fox and Steve Elzer and your crew at Sony, and Revolution and Disney … and just everyone who knew Geoff for so many long years and loved his kind heart. And then his precious immediate family whom he loved so much and spoke about often. God rest his soul in peace.

I am so sad to hear of this. Geoff was a mentor to many people in our industry. He was a very smart and kind man. My heart goes out to his wife Mia and to his children. God’s Speed Geoff. See you on the other side.
Though I never had the pleasure of meeting the man, I have been told he was the type of father that I can only hope to be. R.I.P. My heart is broken for the his children.
We met in college at FLORIDA in 1970 & partied for four years, including promoting rock concerts together. He was my best man, the godfather to my daughter, one of the best friends I’ve ever had. I introduced him to Richard whom gave him his first industry job at Fox. For almost twenty years in LA, we got together with a group of executives working at the studios to barbecue, sushi, bachelor parties, bowling, skiing, sailing, golfing, just about everything. He was a blast to be with & had that great laugh & big heart. We will all miss him!
Geoff was my frat brother at U of F and was a high energy person who like to enjoy life. He had an infectious laugh—when Ammer laughed everyone laughed. He left us to soon but it has been amazing for me to read how much he did with his life and how much meh was loved.
Geoff Ammer was not only a consumate professional – a creative genius, but also a loyal, thoughtful and caring friend. He was one of my mentors. He had ample opportunity to direct his business to the big agencies, but instead chose to work with my small independent company. He believed in me and was a great teacher. He nurtured and inspired and he had THE BEST sense of humor. Thank you Geoff. Rest in peace.
