EXCLUSIVE: Heather Locklear has just booked a fun role in Scary Movie 5. She’ll play the mother of a young dancer (Ashley Tisdale), in a role that is more than inspired by the nightmare mom Barbara Hershey played in Black Swan. In fact, they’ve also booked Molly Shannon to play the Winona Ryder character. Malcolm Lee is directing and Scary Movie vet David Zucker co-wrote the script and is producing. Zucker wrote and directed the third and fourth installments of Scary Movie, which were the funniest.
Locklear is right now doing an arc on TV Land’s Hot In Cleveland. She plays the PR executive for the city of Cleveland who hires Melanie (Valerie Bertinelli). Locklear’s been out of the mix awhile but it’s good to see her back. She’s repped by Gersh and Brillstein. Shannon’s repped by Gersh and Framework.

The funniest was the 1st. The second was ridiculous. The rest were painful.
Hopefully this one is as “inspired” as the first one.

I’m not really loving the C list actors here. Tisdale can’t even find success on The CW and while I love Locklear she’s never been a great comedic actress. Molly Shannon is always dependable to be…well…Molly Shannon but let’s step it up some since Anna Faris and Regina Hall have set the bar pretty high.

Great news! I really like Heather and would love to see her in a regular role on TV show again. Maybe as a Michael J. Fox wife in his newest sitcom? Oh, and I would be absolutely delighted if Anna Faris did a cameo for this movie. You know, showing up at the end, killing every new character and saying: “Do not eff with original!” Just like Neve Campbell did in Scream 4. It would a lovely nod to audience.
Alright , Damon !! Heather Locklear and Ashley Tisdale are quality actresses ! I hate it when the news rats belittle them ! I wish them all the best in their roles !!
Locklear was a cougar before the term cougar. She’s a welcome presence in anything, methinks. Would love to see her in a sitcom. TV Land, make it happen.
