wow. thats all you got, Jon? w e a k.
What are you talking about??–it was pure gold!
The Obama that only Republicans can see, was brilliant!
If, on any given night, a republican sneezed too loudly, and a democrat kicked a puppy on camera, Jon Stewart would spend 4 minutes making fun of the republican and then make a joke about how the republicans upset the democrat so bad, that it made him kick the puppy in rage.
This guy has gone from being a legitimately clever comedian in 2006 to being a democrat attack dog. He just reaffirms the opinions of his liberal audience night in and night out now. Devoting almost his entire show to it.
Obama has been president for nearly 4 years and I can count on one hand the number of true criticisms he has leveled at him. I don’t care how much of a liberal you are, you cannot tell me that Obama has not made enough slip ups to be made fun. Every president does. If John Mccain had won and done everything exactly the same way Obama did, Jon would have been skewering him non stop all year long.
I’ve seen every episode of The Daily Show since 2006, and I can’t wait for the election to be over so I can stop having to fast-forward my DVR through this stuff. SOOOO boring. Jon, you love Obama, we get it- can we please get back to making the Daily Show funny?
As long as there is FOX News Jon Stewart will be doing politics on The Daily Show, he can’t help it they are just so funny. That channel keeps him in business.
Except The Daily Show IS funny, and that bit is comedy gold. And if you can’t see that, well…either you’re ignorant, or a teabagger. Neither of which is a good thing.
Oh thank you!! I thought I was the only one who has had “to let him [Jon] go”. Jon has worn it out, not as rabid as Matthews but closing in. Hey Jon, the old Torino didn’t have to read every damn word from a teleprompter.
Hilarious!
you expected something more? It’s Jon Stewart for Christ’s sake.
The Daily Show is soooo 80s. Clint Eastwood is a giant compared to a mental midget like Jon Stewart. By the way Jon, change your name to a real man’s name like JOHN.
…and Clint Eastwood’s real name is CLINTON, oops.
another bitter wanna-be-host at 1 in the a.m. on a Friday night.
Jon is in his 40′s. Clint is 82. Odds are during the 2016 election Jon will still be on the air every night and Clint well…let’s face it…I love the guy..but again..82.
You don’t have to be old to die.
Well, Clint does have 8 children with 5 unmarried women and 2 wives. Lovin’ them family values!
Scoop! Empty chair trumps empty suit.
The CANNED laughter is annoying as hell as well as his stupid jokes..if you can call them jokes.
You respond like the kid picked last to play kickball, deriding other people’s talent in an effort to not feel as bad about your lack of. You’re mad, bro. Jon nailed it. End of thread.
Um…It’s a LIVE studio audience.
A live studio audience that is prepped up before the show, only to react on que to the flashing “applaud” sign like a bunched of trained seals.
The entertainment industry, staging audience laughter since 1952.
Maher, Stewart and Colbert are moronic liberal triplets. Failed actors. Failed Comedians and all are unfunny. Without someone doing their writing for them, they’re lost.
Cool. I’m sure Jon will really be bothered by your comment when he wins his 9th or 10th Emmy this month.
so because Jon has so many emmies it means he knows more about humor & truth then the next guy? dont think so.
The Emmy’s is like professional wrestling, a staged show, and the outcomes have no affect on our lives. A hand full of people are picked to win to build up their credibility with the public so fools like you think they’re talented.
About a month ago I tried to watch J. Edgar, it was unbelievably bad, incoherent, amateurish drivel. It was an SNL skit of a movie. I couldn’t believe Clint had directed it. Now I am no longer surprised.
Clint craps more substance than Jon Stewart every morining. What a loser.
Substance? Maybe that was the case prior to the convention but that chair skit was just sad. That aside, Eastwood seems to be confused about the most basic issues at play in this election. He’s mad at the president for getting us into a war in Afghanistan, as though the Bush years never happened. And he’s endorsing a guy that wants to stay there indefinitely. He doesn’t like the president not making the environment more of a priority, so he gets on stage to prop up the GOP, people who’d like to actually go backwards on environmental protections? He didn’t come off as having any substance at all. Just an angry, rambling and confused man.
Looks like dear Jon is mad that such a big Hollywood name supported Republicans. What a sore loser. But don’t worry Jon: soon there will be the Democratic convention so you will have your chance for fawning and adoration.
That’s not what it looked like to me. It looked to me like he was making fun of the fact that the speaker who preceded the Republicans’ candidate for the presidency was inaccurate, irrational and generally disoriented. If the Democrats trot out an eighty-something celebrity to perform weird, unscripted, and occasionally scatological humor before Obama speaks this week, then Stewart will make fun of them too.
Jon was great.. and actually very respectful of Clint. A lot more then some of the people online, twitter and such.
I was so waiting for his take. And yes Clint was..well not the man I want to see him as. That was not a good night for the Republicans.
Go Ahead Make My Day
I don’t look to the guy who played a talking spring in Doogal for my political views.
Neither do I. I look to him when I want someone to point out the failures and hypocrisies of public figures, the media, and politicians on both sides of the political spectrum. As usual, I wasn’t disappointed.
If conservatives didn’t do all this crazy stuff, Jon wouldn’t have anything to make fun of. Don’t shoot the messenger.
Clint is THE MAN… Just because you don’t agree with his politics, don’t go hat’in on him. But I am sick of the “hands off” the media takes to the current administration. MY GOSH, they give more late night fodder than any administration in recent history, and you get nothing… Come on Leno and Letterman. Well, I know Letterman is more liberal than most, but Leno? Why can’t late night make fun of this administration? THE are afraid or have been warned (or both).
@Juan,
You obviously don’t watch Leno, I do, and he sticks it to this administration the same way he used to stick it to the Bush administration.
He’s been an equal opportunity offender.
How many more years is Jon Stewart going to use the daily show as a political mouthpiece? Republicans are evil and want to take your money and oppress minorities and Democrats have your best interest in mind but are bad at getting the message across and bad at stopping the big bad republican conspiracy.
We get it Jon. You have been using 50-70% of your show every single night to pound home this message over and over and over again. Even your skits with ‘correspondents’ are used to drive home a political message.
There was a time he actually used to joke about events in a variety of topics, but that time is long gone. It’s now all about reenforcing the opinions that most in your audience already has while making a funny face or making genital references. He has literally made a career out of preaching to the choir
