When Lifetime‘s newly renewed drama Army Wives returns for a seventh season, I hear it will likely be without original cast member Kim Delaney.

When announcing the show’s pickup today, Lifetime and producing studio ABC Studios declined to confirm whether the cast of the ensemble drama would return, saying only that an announcement will be made closer to start of production (which has not been set yet). Speculation about Delaney possibly exiting Army Wives have been percolating for a while. This past season, Army Wives introduced a new cast member, Kelli Williams, which was considered a potential move to ensure a smooth transition and fill a void if Delaney were to leave.
In addition to Delaney, I hear there are other Army Wives cast members whose futures are in limbo. The original cast’s contracts were up at the end of Season 6, and, besides Catherine Bell, who was signed by ABC to a new two-year deal in May, I hear the rest don’t have agreements to return. Also locked in for Season 7 is Williams as she just joined the show last season.

I figure that was coming…….. after she hasnt been in the last few episodes.. I’m more so upset that Roxy is gone.. this i think will be the last season since no one else renewed contracts no ones gunna wanna watch anyone else since we all grew with these characters!!

I hate that. This is one of my favorite shows & I hate trying to get used to new characters. These were like my own family. Very sad:(
With Claudia Joy gone, Roxie and Pam gone and now Roland leaving the scene for a while, I think Army Wives is not going to survive. It wasn’t just the storyline that made this show a hit, it was the characters and their interaction with one another. Sorry, but it’s just not the same show without them.
As a former Military wife & a Veteran, this changing of characters is the way miitary life really is. You miss those that have gone away or died & you embrace the new arrivals. I like Brooke Shield’s role as a new wife for Gen. Holden; a true equal to him. I missed what happened to the Gay couple. They were cute.
i am happy army wives is coming back for a 7th season but disappointed that the whole cast isnt returning.
Look for this upcoming season to possibly be the series final season, especially when most of the cast won’t be returning.
Its going to be missed if they takee the entire show off. Roland is now leaving for a short while until Joan returns home from the tour. What will become of our Favorite TV show on Sunday nights, Army Wives. Its been on for years. I certainly will miss the cast. Claudra Joy played by Kim Delaney was a hit. Her and Micahel Holden played a wonderful part…and made a happy and a loving family. I am going to miss her. I even cried when it showed where her ashes was displayed out. It was a very serious scene….and Emmalyn she is a darling. It looked like everyone gotten along well. I love the cast. My best to them. Roxy and Pamela, they were the nicest…too and held things togteher while Kim Delaney- Claudra Joy did the rest. It was one big loving fmily. Hoping they will return off and on, and just hope it won’t end. I certainly will be lost. It has taught me some things in life that I just hadn’t known. My best to the entire cast!!! I know you all will be miss so much if the show has to move on. Thanks for doing such a wonderful job!! But I hope for the best.
Not surprised KD not returning as her role was diminished this year. The show Army Wives can go w/some old cast members as well as new ones. The base is supposed to be dual army/air force so new characters will be added – I for one am happy Army Wives is returning and look forward to the Sherwoods & Burtons returning as well as Gen.Holden,& Jackie & Gloria returning. Will miss Roxy though.
Roxie and Trevor are not necessarily gone. They were leaving as the Plane appearantly crashed. They can be called back since he has not reported.
Actually, Sally Pressman is not returning. She already signed with another network.
hello everybody, im so glad for season 7 about army wives, i hope to see again all my protagonists, familly leblanc, moran, sherwood, burton and holden, i love them all so much. its so sad if some character no come back…..happy sunday for all my friend sthey ar eall adorable i pray for her come back
I’m thrilled that Army Wives is returning for another season. Sad to see some of the cast leaving, but this is reality. Military families are constantly going where they are needed, and them joining forces with the Air force is going to be interesting.
After seeing the upcoming episodes, I don’t think I will be watching it as religisouly (sp) as in the past. Looks like to much drama with fighting amongst the wives. Just doesn’t look like it is going to be as good as the past. And yes, without most of the original cast that most have come to love, can’t see it working out.
I too was dissiointed in the first show. I am sorry that so many of the original cast is not there. I also do not need all the fighting between the wives going on…there is enough in the world without watching the show. I know Claudia Joy had her problems, but she was the glue that held everything to gether..she had class and elegance and held the girls to a higher standard.
I was excited to hear Army Wives was coming back til I seen Claudia Joy was killed off, was sad and mad to see it be so. Kim Delaney and the other regular stars(characters – Roxi, Pam, Denise, Roland, Joan, Trevor, Frank and Michael) really made the show. From the previews I have seen this new season with all the new faces has no appeal and is a poor substitute for what the show had these past 6 seasons. My opinion not worth watching.
Knew it was coming…real military families, must happen all the time…but for tv soap-kind-of fans, it’s a whole different thing.
Always wondered, what would’ve happened if the storyline had really followed the source material? It would have been a very different show.

Sally Pressman who played Roxy does not want to come back. She has signed with another show on network. Actor’s move on for their career’s. Jeremy Davidson who played Chase left the show to join the cast of Pan Am, a show last year on NBC. ( It has since been canceled). It is a dream of most actors to be in shows on a prime time network or in movies. I have seen “Chase” in some movie’s since he left. He wasn’t returning to Army Wives so they couldn’t keep “Pam” around. Same with Roxy & Trevor. From what I have read I believe Kim Delaney has been a “problem” to the power’s that be since the beginning. I love the show & all the character’s but you can’t keep an actor against their will! When their contract’s are up, some leave, just as the military moves it’s soldiers around.
I hate the fact that Roxy and Claudia-Joy are not returning. I am a Coastie wife and I have been watching Army Wives from day one. There was no reason for Pamela and Chase to exit the show also. Whoever is doing the writing for the show really needs to wake up and realize that Army Wives is a great show and the original cast members need to be on the show.

If everyone keeps leaving the show it won’t probably have the audience it has had in the past. I’ve seen every episode more than once and this season was very disappointing. First Pamela & Chase gone, now with Roxy & Trevor gone and possibly Claudia Joy. I probably won’t continue to watch. I like Jackie, Nicole & Charlie but not the gay story line. But won’t continue watching if most of the original cast are gone.
I’m an army brat and this show is real close to actual army life. I’ve watched the show from the beginning and it will be real sad to see not the whole original cast in season 7 but that’s real army life. One of my favorite actresses is Catherine Bell and I loved her also as Col. Mac Mackenzie on JAG also. It seems that so far in her career she has been typecast in military or pseudo military roles. She is a fantastic actress though.

Catherine Bell has not just been cast in military shows. She was cast as the lead in Hallmarks Good Witch shows.
She was also in a movie about a mother who loses a child. It really is a very good movie. It is called Small Voices, everybody who loves her should watch it.
What I find interesting is how the friends are from all different ranks. This is considered “fraternizing ” and not allowed. Must just to make interesting for viewers.

Actually I was getting kind of bored with the show. I missed the last few episodes of AW and now I wished I would have seen them. The last time I saw it was the episode where Roxy was trying to talk Trevor into leaving the military. Now on S7E1 I find so many many changes. Time to go to the store and buy the dvds. I hope that the newer additions will put some spark into the show. I can’t wait to see Brooke Shields mess with General Holden’s head. Now that maybe worth watching.
I love Army Wives! However, not a fan of some of the new characters! Of course Delaney isn’t coming back- she’s in rehab, (again.) Still don’t know why Pamela and Chase are gone. So many new story lines this past season of the “new comers”. Don’t get why they didn’t build new stories around the original cast.
I am so bummed out that Claudia Joy and Roxy will not be returning. We have followed their lives for the last six years, and they have been family-like to me and my friends. I understand that Kim Delany may be in rehab and cannot return, but why send off Trevor and Roxy too? Not a good idea in my opinion. Who will be next? The show will surely not be the same!
I loved the character of Roxy, she was spunky and I loved her southern backwoods way with words. When they made over her form of speech she just was not the same. She didn’t sound southern enough. I liked her Roxyisms.

I can’t keep watching the show without Claudia Joy and Roxy. Please no matter what, these two women need to return because without them there’s no army wives. I really like their both roles and attitudes they played, play and will play in the show. I do have confident that they will return. Roxy keeps me laughing, and Claudia Joy makes a woman and stand for myself. Kim or Claudia Joy, you need to return. I am a big fan of you, and l will not enjoy the show without you. So please, please and please come back. Tell whoever writes your part needs to start writing your part again b4 season7 releases. To tell the truth, l used to hate army but since l started watching army wives l can see myself now as an army person. So thanks to army wives. Claudia Joy and Roxy, you made me fall in love with you two including some of the staffs, but you two are my favorite ones. Claudia Joy please keep me falling wt army wives. l hate being disappointed. Surprise me CJ or KD.

I have watched this show from day one love it never miss it. I am glad that it is coming back. but with different characters not sure that is a good thing .. try & see if still love it .. kim delaney & roxie not sure real name is gone show wont be that same.. they made it loving & interesting.. writers please help..
I am definitely happy that the show has been renewed for season 7. I love the story line and I think there are just enough of the original cast left to make the show good. The writers of Army Wives really know what they are doing and I believe that they will make the transition to the new characters exciting for us. I’m also happy that Gloria and Hector are returning. I sneeked a peek at what is in store for us in the first couple of episodes.
