Well, they are certainly lip-synching with playback here…
Don’t look now Jerry, but your ignorance is showing!
Huh? Did you watch the clip?
I have to say, I’m really impressed by this and it’s now on my radar for Christmas movies, whereas I’ve never been a musical guy.
But I AM worried about Russell Crowe’s voice. Has he ever sung?
p.s. Oh, I forgot about Crowe’s tantrum because his rock band wasn’t getting the respect it deserved. So I guess he HAS sang before. (Well, kind of.)
p.s.s. Or was that Billy Bob Thornton?
Well you’re certainly a dumbass. It’s CLEARLY live.
They can still re-record. But the performance comes first.
Thank you, Tom Hooper, for your vision. Thank you to the actors for their courage.
My hopes are cautiously high.
It’s a youtube video. The movie is going to be epic and awesome!
I wonder if they will overdub some dialog when it doesn’t sound right.
I found the musical depressing, which was why I only saw it once 20 years ago. I certainly hope they do a great job, not like what they done to “Phantom of the Opera.”
I loved Susan Boyle’s version. She made the song easier to sit through.
Gimie , I hated Susan Boyle’s version. I despise the Celine Dion over-the-top singing, and Boyle singing style is very similar to Dion’s singing style. Anne Hathaway’s version is haunting, morose, and soulful. Plus, I can hear the lyrics when Anne sings the song.
Having never seen the musical (bad on me, I know), this gave me chills. Ann Hathaway is building a career that will make her one of best actors of all time – she’s amazing.
And good for Tom Hooper. I hear he can be tough to deal with, but he certainly knows his shit.
“Gave me chills” . . . . . Are we really that easily entertained?
I got chills too. I found Hathaway’s choice of singing-by acting first- to be very moving. Maybe you’re just souless
