Army Wives just keeps going at Lifetime, which just renewed the veteran drama for a seventh season with a 13-episode order for a 2013 return. Army Wives‘ sixth season, which ended its run September 9, averaged 3.2 million total viewers, down from the series’ heyday but still a formidable number. It starred Catherine Bell, Kim Delaney, Sally Pressman, Brian McNamara, Sterling K. Brown, Wendy Davis, Drew Fuller, Terry Serpico and Kelli Williams. Produced by ABC Studios, with Mark Gordon and Jeff Melvoin serving as executive producers, the series is based on the book Army Wives: The Unwritten Code Of Military Marriage by Tanya Biank, who serves as a consultant.

Lifetime signaled its intention to renew Army Wives in May when ABC Studios signed Bell to a two-year deal. At the time, Lifetime was already actively exploring its options, including applying for the California TV tax credit lottery, which would’ve moved production of the show to Los Angeles. Army Wives didn’t get picked, so production will stay in South Carolina. Lifetime is yet to render a decision on the future of Drop Dead Diva.

I’m glad to hear that we get more Army Wives and that it will still be filmed in South Carolina. Filming in California would have changed the whole look and feel of the show no matter how hard they tried not to.
I totally agree with you regarding filming in Carolina. Great to hear Army Wives is returning. Yeah!!
Hard to believe they haven’t picked up Drop Dead Diva. Best season to date and the ratings were high. Not sure what Lifetime is waiting for?
I love Army Wives and can’t wait for more
Army Wives is the best drama ever…
I hope that Brian McNamara is not leaving the show.. I really hated to see that Sally Pressman has left the show, but I wish her
sucess in her new show.
I am so glad Army Wives will be on another season!! I was so disappointed when I heard this was the last season. I love this show!
So happy army wives is coming back. Can’t get enough!!
Glad to hear Army Wives is coming back I am so looking forward to the new season. I cant get enough!!!
Army wives wont be as good if they lose too many of the original cast!
So excited about the renewal of Army Wives one of the best shows ever it is a shame we are losing some of the main characters. It seems when you have something good you should not change it I have seen many actors who are on a hit show and leave to do something else and then you never see them again.I say if it is not broke don’t fix it.Very anxious to see what is in store for the new season.
I want to know if CSM Dennis Devlin (Jeff Joslin) is coming back….Just can’t wait.
I LOVE AY WIVES. Please don’t cancel.
Thank you so much for keeping Army Wives. I waited every year for it to start back up and will wait patiently till this next season. I will definitely miss some of the originally cast. “Roxy” was such a main part of the dimension of the show, but I understand the introduction of the “new Roxy” character. There is something that makes me feel Patriotic when I watch that show. Thank you again!
Me also Vietnam army Capt helicopter. Wife 2 tours
I have watched ARmy Wives since the beginning. 2 years ago I went to Canada for 5 months and unfortunately could not get the program. I do have all the tapes from Season 1 through Season 6 second part. I LOVE Army wives… Please keep it coming.
Don’t let the original people leave…..Add others, but like a Girl Scout, Make new friends and keep the old, one is silver and the other gold…..
Although it is disappointing to see some of the original cast move on, it makes the show more realistic in the end. One of my criticisms of the show is that the group was able to stay together so long. Speaking from experience, as an Air Force wife and mother of two daughters who serve/served in the Army, nothing in your circle of friends stays the same that long. Someone is moving, always.
So, as much as I hate to see Roxy, Claudia Joy and Pamela move out of the series—it makes the show a more realistic portrayal of how military life really is.
I just finished all 6 seasons on Netflix and am so glad that there will be another season. Have they decided when it will begin to air? I also hope they don’t completely cut Roxy and Trevor out. They are my favorite couple. I miss Pamela and Chase also, but losing Roxy and Trevor would really ruin it for me.
I also just finished watching the 6 previous seasons of “Army Wives” on Amazon Prime. I truly enjoy this show! It’s great to see a scripted show such as this with so much “reality” stuff on T.V. today. I will miss Claudia Joy & Roxy as I do Pamela; but life goes on & I’m looking forward to the new characters & the new bonds of friendship that we’ll see.
